- grammarpolice, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22Someone has sand up their vagina. . .
- ymschaap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12my server (with 8 processors, 4GB) doesn't like having a digg effect :) but thanks for the support anyway!
- kensavage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Not much for graphics but it is a nice baseline when designing your own theme. NICE work!
- alpha94, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10It's hard to believe that your server would have those specs and that kind of pipe. I run a dedicated hosting server for a number of high traffic sites that get much more traffic on a daily basis than the digg effect produces and there's no problems at all. The server is a dual Xeon 2.8 with 2GB of RAM and never had a problem with a few million visits a day across some client sites. Perhaps your provider has lied to you.
- edg3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7No offence meant here, but I don't know why you're smiling! Your server sounds great... but in reality its just as useless as shared hosting under the Digg effect.
- yakobusan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Cool tool!
You should add some more functions in the future, though.
But brilliant for creating a starting template or so. - grammarpolice, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Good to know Nougat, good to know. . .
- ericodom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm surprised at how easy it was to get the basic files. Enter your preferences, hit save and bam! You've got the files ready for download via zip.
The tool already a hot item, but I can see some serious potential for something even bigger and better coming from this base idea.
Very cool! - ymschaap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nope deticated server, connected Tier1, 5 gigabits :D
- deansfurniture5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Uh...duggmirror won't work for this, as it's all dynamic content.
- jizz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3great idea!
- chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Good, may be people will quit using the:
'Can't connect to database' template that seems to be so popular.... - TuxedosRevenge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Isn't it fun though?
Mine is much less of beast and it withstood a 3 day Digg Effect, 540gb bandwith was eaten across the days. IRC had close to 300 connections active most of the time. - lcmatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sounds abit like ThemePress (http://www.themespress.com/) but free. I'll wait until the Digg effect has died down and have a look.
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The site produces dynamic content so there's really no way to cache it.
It's nice and fast for me.. don't know why people are complaining about. - spltimg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Interesting site.... has some great potential but I fear it is going to create themes that are similar to MySpace....
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Definitely a good starting place, even though the graphics are quite basic (which is fine with me since I design the appearance and layout of my sites myself, while I can't even figure out how to make a widget work).
- Herolint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2While this tool may be great, I think the best think for WordPress themeing would be if the WordPress developers would clean up and comment their CSS. Right now, it is a pain in the arse no matter how good your CSS skills are.
- jizz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1doug. (you)
- Soulhuntre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Try Sandbox ( http://www.plaintxt.org/themes/sandbox/ ). It is a great theme that is perfect for customization. The PHP generates dynamic class names that make full on styling with CSS a total breeze. The theme itself has NO inherant limits.
The WP distribution should come with this thing. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh man, as if there aren't already enough 'sponsor a free wordpress theme' offers running out there. With this tool, it's going to explode, and then no doubt collapse
- christopheles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Perhaps a few strategic buries could prevent a high bandwidth bill.
Sorry I missed you comment dude. Cool site. - roycifer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3what the world needs is a 'cant connect to database' theme generator
- edg3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1roycifer - i found a wordpress plugin that allowed you to customize your "cannot connect to database" page, if i can find the link i'll post it up :)
- jizz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1true indeed.
- grammarpolice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dam, and it still died under digg? What the hell do people need for their servers so they don't get dugg to death?
- guy4graphics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Handy tool...do you plan on developing it further?
- msfortuknit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0It rocks! Is it possible to add any more functions?
- Herolint, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah, I'm talking about the main WordPress code though. WordPress is a fairly nice blogging package, but they need to work on exposing the customizable parts to users. I can wade through the default WordPress CSS, but it is a lot more difficult than it needs to be, in my opinion.
- deansfurniture5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2herolint--you might want to check out Cutline (http://cutline.tubetorial.com/). It's an excellent theme that is well documented so it's easy to extend.

this one I edited by means of wordpressthemegen.com/software/setup.exe - IngaOz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Great Tool!
- Theipolicy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This is awesome. I kinda wish I could have more places to put a third sidebar and maybe a little more customization with the page link locations, but other than that and regardless of that it's awesome.
- hayuitsme, on 08/21/2008, -1/+1That is a nice tool, problem is I am graphically challenged :-) so I have a hard time creating a WP blog that looks nice from scratch. I like to download a free theme and modify it.
Check this one out

P.S. You can download many themes from the official theme directory:

- daoco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1This is an amazing wordpress script. I love it.

If I had a vagina, I'd never leave the house. - christopheles, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Site is dogsh*t slow but sounds badass!
Dugg! - kucingkelabu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Amazingly nice tool! I thought something like this will never exist :D
Now creating a new theme will be much easier as you don't really have to start from scratch!
http://fird.kucing-kelabu.com/2007/04/27/wordpress-theme-generator/ - grammarpolice, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Are you hosting from home? Because your site died in under one minute.
- megaton, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Great idea! Unfortunately, it's not loading. Next time consider the following:
Server-side: great
Client-side: often better (many times, worse)
Try to balance the two where possible. :) - sjaq, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1http://duggmirror.com/
- biggrz, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4Your organization's Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time.
Reason: The Websense category "Nudity" is filtered.
Buried. - Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -37/+3Does it really matter, since either A) no one will visit your crappy blog, so no one will ever see it, or B) there will be so many visitors that WordPress will just die, so no one will see it.

What is Digg?
