http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz - nhurtley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Looks great. But I wish they would have implemented the Shuttle project.
- Hemingrubbish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5from the article:
* Autosave makes sure you never lose a post again.
* Our new tabbed editor allows you to switch between WYSIWYG and code editing instantly while writing a post.
* The lossless XML import and export makes it easy for you to move your content between WordPress blogs.
* Our completely redone visual editor also now includes spell checking.
* New search engine privacy option allows you take you to indicate your blog shouldn’t ping or be indexed by search engines like Google.
* You can set any “page” to be the front page of your site, and put the latest posts somewhere else, making it much easier to use WordPress as a content management system.
* Much more efficient database code, faster than previous versions. Domas Mituzas from MySQL went over all our queries with a fine-toothed comb.
* Links in your blogroll now support sub-categories and you can add categories on the fly.
* Redesigned login screen from the Shuttle project.
* More AJAX to make custom fields, moderation, deletions, and more all faster. My favorite is the comments page, which new lets you approve or unapprove things instantly.
* Pages can now be drafts, or private.
* Our admin has been refreshed to load faster and be more visually consistent.
* The dashboard now instantly and brings RSS feeds asynchronously in the background.
* Comment feeds now include all the comments, not just the last 10.
* Better internationalization and support for right-to-left languages.
* The upload manager lets you easily manage all your uploads pictures, video, and audio.
* A new version of the Akismet plugin is bundled. - JeremyL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Very nice. I love the static front page. Now it's much more like a true CMS system.
- photomatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's useless for a major release --- every single file has changed.
- gidibao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks great!
awesome release - JW00000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, you certainly added a lot of value to the discussion!
(Although I should probably praise you for at least reading TFA) - sdenike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I am waiting for that. It looks amazing.
- hypografik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice work WP team! Congratulations for the release.
- usayd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1finally ;)
- pkirk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3With the MySQL optimizations the hosting companies thanks a lot!
- topdownjimmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It should be noted that those screenshots are the proposed Shuttle interface, which Wordpress has not yet adopted.
- hamishm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Though beware: If like me you are stuck on a host that still uses MySQL 3.23 this version will NOT work. Those optimizations require MySQL 4.0 or later. I should note however that the update looks awesome and I'm switching hosts now. :-)
- goboi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bummer, I also just upgraded all my blogs to 2.07.
- NekoFever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has fixed a lot of my quibbles about the 2.0.x series. In particular I love the AJAX in moderating comments, which is a ton faster and more slick than it used to be.
Great work from the WordPress team, and that's great news that they're switching to a more frequent release schedule. Frequent updates on this scale will be much more interesting than massive updates on the scale of 1.5 to 2.0 with a year between them. - malitic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using the the Release Candidates, and I must say this version is a huge improvement over 2.0x.
- AenTan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So many of my plugins aren't compatible. Gotta wait.
- deepmusic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I downloaded and installed it on my WP sites , where there are various old and new plugins and it works perfectly....
except one : Mailing list version 4.xxx from the site au francais that right now I don't remember the url but i'm sure that you know... :D
and seems that the blog now is also more speed than before ! congrats to wordpress team !

www.deepindub.org - titusz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh no i just installed 2.0.7 :-)
- sa20v, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fantastic development, I'm very grateful of all the hard work the WP team put into each new release.
- shinnphoto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I THOUGHT that MediaTemple (being a pretty hip web host) would have MySQL 4.0 or newer, but when I upgraded, the upgrade script broke my blog. :-( I haven't been able to restore it yet. Bummer.
- PGHolyfield, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anyone else that has upgraded found that Podpress is not working?
- lazygeisha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a really good release! Looks great!
- hmaugans, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A note about the Digg Vote button this site is using. I don't think WordPress.org in particular is vulnerable, but thousands more are:
http://www.digg.com/security/Popular_WordPress_Plugin_Digg_This_Blog_Security_Vulnerabilities_Found - mekal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i like it :)
- intent, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Any chance we can have the changed files only?
- shadowsword232, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I don't like the dupe police anymore than the rest of Digg, but this same article is on the frontpage right now with 300 diggs...
- kerpau, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1See the screenshots here... http://www.brokenkode.com/shuttle
- ateale, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0awesome
- yashnikov, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I'm waiting for Movable Type 4 ;p
- plasticmind, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Ditto.
