- Pimptastic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36Lol, not compatable with XP-64. silly Microsoft, forgot about us 64 bit users.... Again.
- DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32I wonder if the requirements will drop everytime a feature does.
- Myzt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26"Upgrade your CPU

I've been robbed! - Disodium, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30So whos gonna be the first to downlaod this and run it on a intel mac in booot camp? :)
- dotlizard, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27my needs are best served by Windows Vista Ultimate.
sounds expensive. - Pwelborn1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Already have... Everything Passes except for not having a capture card.
- br0ken1128, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20So is it a bad sign if the upgrade advisor causes XP to give a blue screen of death? .. maybe my machine isn't ready ;)
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Here's some advice they forgot to mention.. dont buy anything until 2007
- spelchek, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20if this is a frickin windows genuine advantage only program i am gonna be pissed, especially because I bought windows and I'm not getting any advantages

direct link - millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19Works for me. But my computer runs Ubuntu primarily.
- notkevin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Anyone run this on a MacBook or MacBook Pro (under xp with bootcamp of course)? Inquiring minds want to know.
- Pwelborn1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9As stated above, it seems to like everything except for the lack of a capture card for recording TV shows. It recommends Ultimate. Although, this MBP does have 2 GB of RAM, which is much more than the standard 512 MB.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yeah. Apparently WinXP x64 isn't WinXP. Brilliant, Microsoft.
- revoked, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9yep, confirmed, so lame :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Upgrade to Ubuntu Dapper instead, they even ship it to you for free:
https://shipit.ubuntu.com/
Beat that, Microsoft. - fiji5555, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8 optikburn
My settings passed.. but I'll stick with Windows XP and Linux.. it does everything I need, so why upgrade to Vista?
estvir
with that kind of attitude i'm suprised you aren't running windows 98.
So you're saying to throw away a perfectly working OS just yo spend money on a bloated new buggy one? yeah sure.......you first. - bugmenot3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You don't have HDMI support though.
- nexus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8run "winsat aurora" (without the quotes) from the directory were you installed the program ;)
- funkyp56, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7did u select all check boxes?
BTW, if you select any of them , it recommends something other then home basic - ickyelf, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10My Vista upgrade advice: don't.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The first time the program froze.
The second time it took a while, then reported "We're sorry, but your PC cannot currently install and run the core experiences of Windows Vista."
I'm supposed to upgrade my hard disk, and my display adapter. There's no drivers for my Ricoh laser printer, my HP laserjet, the Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME/PM to Processor I/O Controller - 3580, the Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME/PM to Processor I/O Controller - 3585, my display adapter (Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller), my network adapter (Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection), my USB (Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C2 ), and my sound/game controller (SigmaTel C-Major Audio).
How wonderful, all my devices supported under XP-sp2 are orphans on vista, if and until someone decides to write drivers. - skrekkur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5by moeq "Why did this ***** thing have to be .NET frameworked? That's ***** stupid."
why not? all supported windows systems run it, and linux too, and soon mac os X as well.
Sorry you just can't justify your stubborness of not installing the .net framework - mattb19us, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I'm actually surprised that my Sempron 3000 and GeForce 5200 is enough. It told me that I'm good with the Ultimate edition. It said that I have no TV out though, which I do....
- KilgoreCarp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Sweet... it doesn't seem to think my xp laptop with intel graphics will have trouble with aero - no doubt the macbook should be approved as well - as long as it's upgraded from the 512 default ram configuration.
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5im good with everything but TV and the Premium photos movies ect. said i need the Ultimate Edition
- bluehouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4interesting but why did they make this into an installable program? Who's gunna run this more that once? After I ran it I uninstalled it.
- bsaitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4they also need a check box "Are you willing to click a stupid box that says "Accept" 44x times per hour and be completely ticked off about it?"
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -2/+6XFX make some of the best 7900GT cards around. Their factory O/C ones are exceptional value. I know this because I just purchased one for a friend. They are packaged nicely and have a nice bundle. Just how bad can a graphics card be, I mean they're all so simmilar to the reference design anyway?
- Urgo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Not compatible with win 2k3 either. Oh well.
- optikburn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5And Kubuntu, too.. gosh.. Linux has lots of choices..
https://shipit.kubuntu.org - NDFord005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They try to push x64 and then they forget all about it....PATHETIC....
- BaulZaak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I have three legal licenses for XP and none of them pass genuine advantage, huge pain.
- elgato65, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Support for Pixel Shader 2.0 is required and your current graphics adapter does not support this.
Guess my Matrox Parhelia doesn't cut it. Oh well. - dimsumx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yay, justification to show the wife I need a new computer. :D
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Congratulations, your PC is OWNED by Microsfoft, and you will need a new one to run Vista!"
wth?! - PlaidPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Don't worry. Digg is a supporter of equal opportunity fanboyism. Apple, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony (ok, anti-Sony), they all get their days. Either shut up and wait for Macbook day, or check all the ad-fishing blog sites for something and post it yourself.
- t1da1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3doesn't even run on windows xp x64 edition... blegh
- pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Silly you. That means that your machine is perfect for Vista..
- AndyManCan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Question: Any one else try running this under 2000? I find it really funny because under windows 2000, it just doesn't work! I think the logic is if you aren't running XP forget it about vista. Now I am a small minority of users, but I have a brand new AMD setup, with 1 Gig or RAM, a big honkin' SA-TA drive, a brand new ATI video card with 128 MB video RAM. This machine could probably run vista. I think that the fact that this little utility does not run on 2000 is a MAJOR oversight. Microsoft seems to be one of those companies that works best on oversights, and seems to just be an unhappy company unless that have an 'Enemy' to 'Crush'. The latest one is Google. Second question MS and Goog. Sorry, I bet on Goog.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7you will need the following: "additional hard drive storage (your computer currently has 4.41GB" [on my 60GB laptop] hmm, get windows vista, or keep the pr0n............pr0n
- LunchMoney, on 10/12/2007, -16/+19"Congratulations! Your PC can run the core experiences of Windows Vista."
Works for me. - estvir, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10with that kind of attitude i'm suprised you aren't running windows 98.
- JFetch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It says I can run Vista Premium edition. I was surprised. I thought I would have to upgrade since I haven't upgraded my computer in 2 years except for my video card.
- sgtpinky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I find it interesting on that official website that the hover images for the index buttons aren't preloaded...
- Pimptastic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah as soon as I saw this I tried it, I posted on my site for people to try and it was a no go.
- Alexius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You can never please everyone - one day users complain about Apple and the other day they complain about Microsoft. It has always been like that and will always remain like that.
- Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, it says I am ready for Vista, now how do I uninstall this thing?
- Anagrama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Add/remove programs
look under Microsoft - Kwipper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, but is this 700GB of Free Space or just 700 GB of total hard drive capacity?
