- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -3/+298Hahaha. my gpu will be able to crack corporate-strength passwords, but wont be able to play crysis on ultra high.
- mookid, on 11/03/2007, -5/+172My password is "password" repeated 60 times so I can't be hacked.
- leadingzero, on 10/25/2007, -3/+151That's amazing! I have the same combination on my luggage!
- Shadess, on 10/31/2007, -5/+113the only way to have a safe and hack free computer is to unplug it and bury it 6 feet under.
- scoot2006, on 10/27/2007, -1/+72I'm surrounded by *****!!!
- Shadess, on 11/03/2007, -1/+69"I'm sorry but Microsoft does not allow the use of those characters in your password."
*****! - Stonekeeper, on 11/03/2007, -7/+74I'm pretty sure my digg password is safe......
HAHA FORGET THAT. I SUCK. - ThetaDot, on 10/25/2007, -1/+62The system of using a string of characters is quickly becoming an unusable means of securing digital information.
- nmapper, on 10/25/2007, -3/+62добро пожаловать к botnet
- theragu40, on 10/26/2007, -3/+60Kind of an inaccurate title...
Telling me it's possible /= showing me how to do it. - inactive, on 10/27/2007, -1/+48MUST. HIDE. PORN. BETTER.
- steelmaverick, on 10/27/2007, -1/+40Couldn't we just dig it up and plug it back in?
- raynar, on 10/26/2007, -2/+36I watched the movie 'Hackers', so I know all the tricks to not be caught.
- JMZen, on 10/27/2007, -3/+34Or be incredibly boring.
- cnot3, on 10/25/2007, -1/+32Yeah crysis takes more than a password cracking supercomputer. Like quad SLI.
- quomen, on 10/28/2007, -1/+30Screw GPU, they should make this for the PS3. cracking@home
- drastik21, on 10/27/2007, -1/+306 feet under?? haven't you heard of a zombie attack?
- digitaloxygen, on 10/25/2007, -5/+33Dugg for Spaceballs reference
- NikkiA, on 10/25/2007, -1/+28They just patented the botnet?? Well, I suppose thats ONE way of shutting down the virus authors - sue them for infringement...
- MacEnvy, on 10/25/2007, -0/+26Raspberry jam? Only one man dare use raspberry jam! LONESTAR!
- inactive, on 10/28/2007, -0/+23Recursed for rampant recursion, but not buried.
- SheilaNoya, on 10/25/2007, -3/+26So using the processing power of the graphics card is better than calling the Psychic Hotline?
I'm calling Ms. Cleo and demanding my $4.99 a minute back. - freddo, on 10/25/2007, -0/+22I guess that if there is some misunderstanding here, someone must be jamming your radar ;-)
- 1159, on 10/25/2007, -0/+21My voice is my password. Verify me?
- Nok1, on 10/25/2007, -0/+21I speak and read Russian.
Losely Translated it means "Welcome to botnet" - natedouglas, on 10/25/2007, -0/+21Buried for rampant recursion.
- reconbot, on 10/25/2007, -2/+23*sigh* most of your comments are uninteresting and useless. Thinking about most of my comments I guess I shouldn't complain. But this interests me so..
The original article is much better, and elmssofts website is the real source.
read the press release

Everything else useful can be found here.

What elcomsoft claims it can brute
http://elcomsoft.com/edpr.html (mostly just big products - which is fine with me)
and while I haven't bothered checking it all out, I bet you can just upgrade a previous version as the new version doesn't seem to be here yet..

Also the EDPR is what has the update I don't know if the other products (there are a few) have been accelerated. I bet most dont even need to be (like the encryption on any msoffice date.) - proliance, on 10/25/2007, -1/+22That's a damn lie!
You don't even know my mother. - coleki, on 10/25/2007, -6/+26dugg for bash.org reference
- freddo, on 10/25/2007, -1/+21Before you die, there is something you should know about us, MacEnvy. I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate!
- freddo, on 10/25/2007, -0/+19Absolutely nothing!

For those who had a difficult time to grasp this, it's all about SpaceBalls, a master piece from Mel Brooks, check it here: http://www.amazon.com/Spaceballs-Leslie-Bevis/dp/0 ... and the subtitles can be found here: http://www.divxsubtitles.net/page_subtitleinformat ... - MacEnvy, on 10/25/2007, -1/+19@freddo
And that makes us? - BOBcat5785, on 10/25/2007, -2/+20To be safe I hide my password under my keyboard.
- rabidmonkey1, on 10/25/2007, -1/+18abc123 was my old high school principal's e-mail password. Some kid logged in and sent out a winter closing e-mail to the school. The principal got furious and tried to expel the kid for "hacking," when really, abc123 was the default password and he was too stupid to change it.
- stoppedcode12, on 10/25/2007, -0/+16What's illegal about people forgetting their passwords and trying to recover their encrypted documents?
- daveisfera, on 10/25/2007, -0/+15It's just the old "locks are only to keep honest people out" saying in full effect.
- spyrochaete, on 10/25/2007, -0/+15Penetration testing is an important tool for system administrators to check the security of their assets. Wargames are often the best way to reveal vulnerabilities.
- Hollic, on 10/28/2007, -0/+15Nonsensical statement involving plankton.
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -6/+21undugg for bash.org reference.
- freddo, on 10/26/2007, -0/+13I'm not sure about the "not to be caught" tricks, but if you have some to get Kate Libby in a pool with you, i'm a taker... ;-)
- Acolyte357, on 10/25/2007, -0/+13floating-point computations are going to be much faster on a GPU.
- inactive, on 10/25/2007, -1/+14in soviet russia, passwords crack you... wtf is this extra ***** you included?
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 10/25/2007, -0/+12Buried for either 1990s humor or very poorly constructed Borat reference.
- isunktheship, on 10/25/2007, -0/+12all hail king e-peen
- indicas, on 10/25/2007, -0/+11Resetting or removing a system password wouldn't be an obvious sign of an intrusion or anything..
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/26/2007, -0/+11Hmm usually I give semen samples after accessing my porn.
- mrdeathgod, on 10/25/2007, -0/+11It does this by leveraging the core competencies of the GPU's synergy.
- stoppedcode12, on 10/25/2007, -0/+11No, GPU is much more powerful for what it does, CPU is less powerful, but does everything.
- MooMaster716, on 10/25/2007, -2/+12I've played the Crysis multi-player beta at Neweggs Lanfest 2007, and they had it running on high with 4xaa on a 8800gtx @1920X1200. It would only lag a bit when there was a lot of things going on at once but for the most part it was perfect. Odds are the 8800gtx will have even better frame rates while playing the single player portion.
- Loyaleagle, on 10/25/2007, -0/+10I bet AOL would if you were still one of their paying customers.
