- nzknzknzk, on 10/27/2007, -2/+98Great work on this version! Now that there's encryption, I have absolutely no use for Azureus. My RAM thanks you.
- ryanmclaughlin, on 10/27/2007, -0/+70Just in time so I can use it on OiNK!!!!!!
Oh, wait. - softwareelves, on 10/29/2007, -0/+58Thank You Transmission Team and especially Charles for all his hard work on encryption!
- vraa, on 10/29/2007, -1/+55Whoo finally encryption whooo!
- Jawsh91, on 10/30/2007, -3/+37Azureus is officially deleted from my computer.
Thank the flying spaghetti monster. - seanm, on 10/25/2007, -3/+36Transmission is the ultimate Mac client and now with encryption it's perfect.
- Lapper, on 10/25/2007, -1/+25Nice. I like the smoothed-over logo. This program is absolutely amazing compared to the old BitTorrent client. You know, back when BitTorrent was minimalist and legit. They've sold out to the maximum extent possible.
- kendals, on 10/25/2007, -0/+22uTorrent for the Mac will be bundled with Duke Nukem Forever.
- mikesly, on 10/24/2007, -1/+23Don't play with my emotions! That was too soon!
- HerrEisenheim, on 10/29/2007, -4/+25If it's so easy to do, why didn't you do it?
- OwlBoy, on 10/27/2007, -5/+24The best on the mac gets better!
- hpdarkman525, on 10/27/2007, -0/+16My soon-to-be-Leopard Mac thanks you.
- techpr, on 10/24/2007, -0/+16and Linux :-)
- inactive, on 10/24/2007, -3/+18Thats because its for mac dunce
- eleven, on 10/24/2007, -0/+14For some reason the .dmg has a .bz2 extension. Just remove that extension and use .dmg only. It'll mount the disk image fine after it knows that it's not some other type of file.
- drakethegreat, on 10/27/2007, -0/+13uTorrent should now be worried about releasing on the mac since it has real competition.
- potofgravy, on 10/27/2007, -1/+14What's the point? There's no oink; there's no life. What's the point?
- ivanvanderbyl, on 10/25/2007, -3/+15Finally? it should have been there since the beginning!
- bratterscain, on 10/26/2007, -2/+13Yeah, but there's plenty of other ways for Windows users to download virus-prone software without a torrent client. So don't feel left out.
- defectDS, on 10/24/2007, -1/+12Am I the only one having trouble opening the Disk Image? After extraction it comes out to 32kb, what's going on?
- GCarden, on 10/24/2007, -2/+13Hey, they got rid of the advanced view bar. :(
- MrMacMan, on 10/24/2007, -0/+10Any tracker operator still banning transmission is months behind.
Transmission has been unbanned from major trackers months ago, anyone still doing so is ignoring the significant fixes and work that has gone in the application. - Heymbit, on 10/24/2007, -0/+9geoken, transmission has had many updates, including selecting specific files to download. The only thing Azureus has over Transmission now is the whole Vuze thing, which btw sucks.
- TwoCanPlay69, on 10/25/2007, -0/+9Seriously ditch Azureus, your RAM will thank you. Transmission can already do this, sorta. Tell Transmissions to watch for torrent files in some folder, then subscribe to a tv torrent feed with Vienna, also tell vienna to download the torrent file to whatever folder you have transmission watching for torrents, Presto, the torrent is automatically added to Trans when downloaded to folder.
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -1/+9I guess 98% of bittorrent users can enjoy that interface hell blue frog crap
- justin9, on 10/27/2007, -1/+9why did you have to bring that up?? /cry
- Mediaright, on 10/24/2007, -1/+9There are many legit uses for Bittorrent. The makers of a brick wouldn't be arrested because the brick could be used to break a window...right?
- rspeed, on 10/25/2007, -0/+8His noodely appendage has blessed us this day.
Ramen! - thejokell, on 10/25/2007, -0/+7Use TV Shows to download the torrents:
http://tvshows.sourceforge.net/
And just have Transmission watch a folder for downloaded torrents. Best system I've found yet. - KZeni, on 10/24/2007, -0/+7http://tvshows.sourceforge.net/
Use this program in combination with Transmission (or any other bittorrent client) for automatic TV Show downloading.
I've used it and have had no problems. - dbr_onix, on 10/29/2007, -1/+8Most things are easy in concept, it's implementing it in code, and making it work nicely with the existing code that is the bulk of the work...
- dbr_onix, on 10/24/2007, -0/+7Transmission was banned by a lot of trackers, didn't have DHT/encryption and such for a while...
- Talonkarrde, on 10/24/2007, -0/+7Now if all apps had this short of an upgrade turnaround time...
- curlyman500, on 10/25/2007, -3/+10Finally! Transmission earns a spot on my Dock
- Xorp, on 10/24/2007, -1/+8How do I update on Linux? I originally grabbed it from the package manager. Yes I'm a noob.
- iNunchuk, on 10/25/2007, -1/+8But what about IP Filter Lists?
I'd really like to block out the CRIA and RIAA and MPAA and the list goes on. - Avian00, on 10/29/2007, -0/+6That's exactly what I was thinking. It is open-source after all.
- kendals, on 10/24/2007, -2/+8Get a real computer, and stop your bitching.
- queraxus, on 10/25/2007, -0/+6Those cogs have been gone for a long, long time. A year??
- TomFrost, on 10/25/2007, -1/+7And does uTorrent run natively on anything other than Windows?
- SuperSnake2012, on 10/24/2007, -1/+7I'm having problems as well... I get an error on auto-update from 0.82 and an error when I download 0.90 from the website.
- yabos, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5It works fine
- jonnyd, on 10/24/2007, -1/+6and apparently it's not in any of the ubuntu repositories yet (I just checked)
- geoken, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5You're not preventing anyone from getting your IP. Your preventing people from connecting to your machine and having access to your shared files. It's irrelevent whether or not they have the IP addresses of everyone connected to a given tracker.
- MadOtaku, on 10/24/2007, -1/+6Is it? Proof please.
- Jem2768, on 10/27/2007, -0/+5Anyone know if they've fixed the "feature" where it will only connect to 50 (or is it 60? can't remember) peers at a time?
Kills large torrents, e.g. 2500 peers, 250 seeders as you can end up getting only 5 or 6 giving you useful data and dead slow downloads. Had to resort to Azureus for one large torrent for this reason and got 10x the d/l speed.
Aside from that, best Torrent Client Evarrrr! - Zawamura, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5This is the best Bittorrent client for the mac! Nice with an update.
- elbonito665, on 10/25/2007, -0/+5What does transmission have to do with being a mac fanboy? Windoes is not the only exsisting OS anyway
- bradym80, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5will this defeat sandvine on comcast?
- JohnClay, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5I've pulled that mirror from the rotation. =)
