- mkoby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Seems to be a Wordpress kind of day with this post and the one about themese at http://www.digg.com/mods/The_Best_Minimalist_WordPress_Themes_2
But that's ok because I use Wordpress for my blog and I love it, so its good to see stuff for it even if I use about some of the plugins listed. The wp-notable and google-sitemaps from the list are very good. I would also recommend wordpress-reports at http://tantannoodles.com/toolkit/wordpress-reports/- OandA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6http://www.duggmirror.com/software/Top_Wordpress_plugins
- itsmrdumass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Looks like the "Error establishing a database connection" plugin made the list as well. ;)
- muller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The site is down already. Looks like he didn't know about WP Cache. Too bad, that would have saved his site AND made his list.

- whitecricket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I just installed wordpress the other day, so any information with regards gets my digg.
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exec-PHP - Execute PHP code in posts or static pages. When this plugin is on you can add php code to static pages or even posts.
Been looking for something like this. - projektmayhem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3handy list, as is the one linked by mkoby (thanks!)...
have to say, wordpress ftw. very easy to use, and nice. above all though... free :) - OandA, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3http://www.duggmirror.com/software/Top_Wordpress_plugins
- hodyoaten, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Forgot: BandwidthMonitor.php
On another note I ended up taking my WordPress down... not because it wasn't useful, but largely because the spammers kept finding ways to post crap on the site.- BigO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2akismet is your friend. it helps...somewhat.
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Comment moderation is key, unless your getting loads of comments, it's not difficult to do. Spammers will always find a way around filters, and if you can't put in some time to police your own blog, how can you expect your audience to care about what you post?
- gamesector, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is a fantastic list, I've already installed a couple.
You saved me a few hours that I would have spent sifting through all the crap on wp-plugins.net - headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3These kinds of lists are always pointless. There are thousands of WordPress plugins floating around the web. Many of them are relatively unknown, but great plugins none the less. It's like declaring "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" the number 1 movie of all time, but you've only ever seen three movies.
- mforeman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0perhaps you have some suggestions?
- Runningboard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3but it's ace ventura..
- retsambew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, but it's nice to have someone who has tried the plugins and can give some editorial advice on which ones work the best. I don't want to go thorough thousands of plugins.
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Im hooked on WP plug-ins. My current fav is XrisXros.

Not that most people have a reason to crosspost to MySpace, but for those of us whose audience use it, it comes in handy to have our posts show up there as well. - thekak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5***********************************************************

Too bad he just ripped on the Silent Bits post from over a month ago and added a few to the end: http://silentbits.com/2006/06/26/top-30-plugins-for-wordpress/
Lame and Lame.
All to drive traffic to his measly blog.

***********************************************************- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I was waiting for somebody to get upset that this digg goes to a blog, then link it to another blog.
- mykoleary, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At least (s)he creidts them at the end of the post:
"Thanks to Peter at Silentbits.com" - thekak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2LoL they finally thanked them because I left a comment which they woudln't approve. My work here is done.
- VaamYob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This list is "OK" but any wordpress plugin list without wp-cache make me question the list author's depth of experience with the software.
http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/ - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The site is down.
Wordpress seems to hold up _very poorly_ in the face of even moderate traffic. Why is it so popular?- VaamYob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The wp-cache plugin I linked to above helps wordpress cope with the digg effect.
- echimu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where is WP-Cache? http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/
S/He should have used it. It is one of those kick ass plug-in which can handle digg effect. - Guder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There are many lists of Plugins... some better then others. I gotta give props to Viper's Plugin's used, which makes it easy to show which ones I used. http://www.litwc.com/plug-in-used/
http://digg.com/design/By_Popular_demand_-_The_WordPress_Plugins - Robert0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Askimet has saved me TONS of time in moderation. I was getting 5-10 spam comments a day. I think I have had to mark exactly 1 comment as spam since using askimet. Definitely a recommended plug-in.
- Damienk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They missed WPvideo, an excellent plugin that makes including You Tube videos or Google Videos very simple...
And Akismet has been pissing me off these past few days, blocking comments that are clearly not spam, and there's no way to tell it to stop blocking comments from certain IP's? lame... - akvlad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think it is all good now, the site should load fine, thanks everyone for the diggs, i was in college and had now idea that I got dugg.
Thanks, this is awesome!!! - willistg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1They didn't mention what would possibly be the greatest plugin of all...This thing saved my life and Wordpress has been a joy ever since I found it.
http://drupal.org- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Typical Druper. ;)
- willistg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's true, I'm a fan :D
- tastethevenom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is good for all them "Add to..." RSS chicklets... http://wp-plugins.net/plugin/mp_addtoany_fr/
- Volkor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you're not just a trendwhore and you're serious about blogging, you should write your own blogging software! Just take some PHP & MySQL classes and you're good to go. It does take a long time to get anywhere though.
http://gray-blog.com is the result of about 60 hours of coding, and I'm still not done :( - Mininday, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Excellent post on Wordpress comments plugins.
http://www.listikal.com/2007/06/05/top-wordpress-plugins-by-type-part-2-of-5-comments/ - wordpressthemes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Nice list but... you probably know :)
- viralthinking, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Gotta show love to all things WordPress
- kittimitti, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Just take some PHP & MySQL classes and you're good to go. It does take a long time to get anywhere though. http://relora.info/crystin-sinclaire.html http://relora.info/leelee-sobieski.html
