    But that's ok because I use Wordpress for my blog and I love it, so its good to see stuff for it even if I use about some of the plugins listed. The wp-notable and google-sitemaps from the list are very good. I would also recommend wordpress-reports at http://tantannoodles.com/toolkit/wordpress-reports/

  • idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exec-PHP - Execute PHP code in posts or static pages. When this plugin is on you can add php code to static pages or even posts.

    Been looking for something like this.

    On another note I ended up taking my WordPress down... not because it wasn't useful, but largely because the spammers kept finding ways to post crap on the site.

    • violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Comment moderation is key, unless your getting loads of comments, it's not difficult to do. Spammers will always find a way around filters, and if you can't put in some time to police your own blog, how can you expect your audience to care about what you post?

Many of them are relatively unknown, but great plugins none the less. It's like declaring "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" the number 1 movie of all time, but you've only ever seen three movies.

    S/He should have used it. It is one of those kick ass plug-in which can handle digg effect.

  • Robert0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Askimet has saved me TONS of time in moderation. I was getting 5-10 spam comments a day. I think I have had to mark exactly 1 comment as spam since using askimet. Definitely a recommended plug-in.

    And Akismet has been pissing me off these past few days, blocking comments that are clearly not spam, and there's no way to tell it to stop blocking comments from certain IP's? lame...

  • Volkor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you're not just a trendwhore and you're serious about blogging, you should write your own blogging software! Just take some PHP & MySQL classes and you're good to go. It does take a long time to get anywhere though.

    http://gray-blog.com is the result of about 60 hours of coding, and I'm still not done :(
