Top 5 Web Browsers That Aren't IE, Safari, or Firefox

But what about the rest of us slobs who protest anything corporate, reject anything mainstream, and don't even know why? There is surprising amount of excellent web browsers that get no love at all. And these are our five favorites.

    It was very clear he understands the topic. Few people have valid reasons to "protest anything corporate, reject anything mainstream". And its refreshing the author acknowledged this.

  • AQUANETA, on 05/23/2008, -4/+15Maybe konqueror, definitely not epiphany... its a shame, they slapped a GTK/Gnome UI on top of the big old gecko, then called it the default gnome browser. It is too simple to do anything, you can blame the Gnome project's somewhat flawed ideal of ultimate simplicity.

  • tama00, on 05/23/2008, -3/+12Your kidding right, epiphany uses a newer version of gecko than firefox! and i believe the idea of gnome was to be as simple as possible as opposed to kde. Epiphany feels way more integrated than firefox ever does in gnome especially since it took firefox SOOOO long to move to GTK2!
  • twiztidsinz, on 05/24/2008, -5/+14If Opera decides to implement user-created AddOn's I bet you'd see it become quite a bit more popular.
    I've used Opera for a while and I loved it. More or less the only two problems I had were the lack of AddOn's and that it was TOO customizable which isn't bad, just overwhelming at times.
    If I could get AdBlock Plus and NoScript on Opera I'd probably switch from Firefox. I know you can turn off scripts and block Ad's in Opera, but I like NoScript's whitelist option and installing ABP is about 10x easier than setting up adblocking in Opera.
