- HvitRavn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3And even with 100 extensions, Opera still has more and better features :D
- dielawn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1super browser?
whats so super? the fact that you have 3 inches of screen to surf with? - SiouxsieQ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You people are missing the point! It's not about the practicality of installing 100 extensions, its the fact that he did it and the damn thing didn't crash!
Can't really say that about IE, now can you... - dkarlson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think it's great how folks get so friggin' picky with their diggs.
"The article has a pathetically small scrollable screen shot. Plain stupid. No digg."
So, the whole idea is nullified (or maybe just less than what it should be, in your mind) by a bad choice of screenshots? - albel65, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I almost spilt my soup laughing at how many toolbars there we're.
- Lurk3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Egods, think of the memoryleaks!
- squenix1221, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I run about 10 extensions and never crash...I had Gmail Skins, and if I logged into Gmail, anbout half the time firefox would crash...so I uninstalledd skins, and it works perfectly
- linuxrebel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well I'm running 54 extensions right now (and using all 54 too I might add) A few things I've learned that might help some of the commentors.
1. You can close tool bars. They only need to be opened if you are using them.
2. It's not slow. Mine opens in about 5 secs. (first time after login)
3. If you don't understand 1 and 2 .. sucks to be you :) - InvisibleMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had 105 extensions back in the 1.06 days, now I have 52 and it still runs fine... but I do need extenstions to handle the many extensions like menu editor
- hlheavyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hope he has a 23" inch screen or bigger.. geez
- Tyrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like my grandma's IE every time I have to go "fix it".
- MasterDwarf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"hmm...now what does this one do? DOH! it deleted Windows!."
- bebopbass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought it was neat. I only have 4 or 5 extensions installed, I now feel inadequate lol.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, I think back in the FF1.0.x days I had about 70+ extensions installed (50 enabled) and it worked fine for the most part I think... didn't really let it clog up my screen but was a wee bit slow. But nowadays, as a rule, if I'm not using an extension regularly it gets uninstalled or disabled. Same applies to toolbar items, if you see something on the toolbar and you don't know what it is or what it does without peeking at the tooltips, then it's better off gone. Gotta keep my firefox lean.
- danglerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats frickin unbelievable!
- WDot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg because it's funny, but that's a little much.
- imdwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone know what extension gave the "I am afraid! (H)" option in the context menu?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2WHY DO YOU GUYS KEEP BEGGING FOR A LIST. JUST GOTO FIREFOX EXTENSIONS AND ORDER THE LIST BY POPULARITY UP TO 100 LIKE HE DID!!
-sorry for the caps. i was getting pissed off. - MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"looks just like a spyware infested IE"
Except useful spyware :p - SPNKrPunk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"looks just like a spyware infested IE"
Looks more like MS Word to me. - Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a great way to bog down an otherwise fast browser. I only have 5 extensions, don't need anymore.
- mrdanjohnson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like AOL
- snlildude87, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3looks just like a spyware infested IE
- EyeDye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm, I only have 40 extensions installed. Maybe I should have another look through the list. :)
- olegk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Impressive mosty because it works. Must be really slow though.
- aldreneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its not unbelievable...I once had a profile with 64extensions. I went over firefox addons and the extension merror and got any good ones I sawe. I had 64 in the end. And I could actually use it no problem.
- mikeylikesit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll make ya trade the list for my digg :-D
- btnheazy03, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+1 Digg simply for the effort.
- mzhao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's not bad. I had more than that many installed and enabled before, though, and I use Firefox for all of my browsing tasks. It never even broke a sweat.
- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 It's IE8 !!
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That must use up a gig of memory!
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, my context menu's pretty bad. I have another 2 toolbars too, but at least I have the resolution to deal with that :) (1600)
I would love to switch to Opera, but I'm just hooked on all these damn firefox extensions. - odysseus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To get rid of the long context menu, you need the menueditor extension:
http://menueditor.mozdev.org/
I've stripped mine down to 1 option. - dasunst3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This reminded me of the person who put a huge load of IE toolbars... LOL
- mackoid101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0omglawlz...
nice comment, though, dhughes. - rokaholic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why?
- Portfolioso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting concept to test, but pretty useless. Reminds me of spyware in IE.
- Petronski, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I get a big kick out of those who petulantly post "No digg."
BFD. You're not that important, get over your bad self and move on. LOL - antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Look at the size of his context menu! HAHA
Digg. Great find! - t3hNinj4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bah. I have foxytunes, StumbleUpon, the Google bar, and the Abe Vigoda status bar, and that's all I need.
- pixeleyes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a weird man!
- Noloco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like my grandma's IE every time I have to go "fix it".
- teh_techie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0CRAZY!!.. that's all I can say
- outbreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is attrocious.
- rnichilo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahahha ***** sweet
- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You mean you guys don't normally have over 100 installed? Hmm... maybe I rethink things.
- skunkman62, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why?
- ardellin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"looks just like a spyware infested IE"
hahahhhahahahahah - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats crazy. I see he is using the download sidebar thingy. I have that, very useful. No more annoying download boxes.
- BritOverseas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am running with 46 on my lappy (some I am just experimenting with and will probably get rid off though) and virtually no problems, but I have a 17" 1920x1200. Occasionally it does crash but that is when I am pushing my luck trying to do too many things at once.
About 30 on the Wifies convertible/tablet at home with no crashes. -

What is Digg?
