- locojones, on 10/10/2007, -3/+31"One of the secrets of top Diggers, Stumblers, Navigators etc... is being the first to submit stories already becoming popular on other social news sites."
In other words, copying. Wow, thanks for doing us such a great service so we can see even more crappy, less original content. Hooray! - crushfan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+30Let the dupe content war begin!
- myfanwy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27"...so you can be the first to submit them at another"
pathetic, who gives a ***** - UnkelJethro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23"...so you can be the first to submit them at another"
That's some serious fail. The most amazing thing you've seen? Try ascending the stairs out of your (mom's) basement. - flaterates, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Actually this is really a not so good tool. You're going to steal someone else's story so you can be the first one to put it on Digg? Pathetic.
- paintist, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Great.. one step closer in making these sites even less distinguishable.
- bruenig, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16Yeah kind of pointless really in that regard. I mean if your only goal really is to submit stuff so that you get some sort of internet points when it gets to the front page, then I guess it is cool, but it just helps spam the same content over and over.
- RobotCitizen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13I've often felt that the social bookmarking sites need MORE redundancy. Finally my prayers have been answered. Now I can read about the exact same stories at every site! Woohoo!
- Dweller99, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11you dont get out much, do you?
- SlvrEagle23, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12You bastards don't really think this is important...do you?
I heard one time that if you're the first person to rehash the same old tired crap to us in a slightly different format on a slightly different network, you'll one day feel accomplished, make incredible amounts of money, and get laid.
Seriously, where does this tool get you other than a few posts closer to an inevitably lonely death? :P - bscene, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10seriously, apart from some strange sense of accomplishment, what real benefit is there to being the first to submit a story or to get a ton of diggs?
this isn't a rhetorical question folks... i really want to know - Worldchrisis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I don't understand the point. Who cares if you're the first to submit something to some website. It's gone in 24 hours, it doesn't make a difference to anybody else, and "building a social networking profile" has no long term value, I don't get it.
- cbin500, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Im using it for checking any of the blogs I read to see if they have been submitted or not. I don't need it for submitting dup content.
- hotwheel, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9I've already saved time and I can see this tool helping me catapult my social media influence. Thanks for the plugin guys. Can you now work on a feature that automatically gets your submissions to the front page. That'd be greeeeeaaat.
- useful, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4i agree, all it does is perpetuate group think
things shouldn't be popular on one site because they are popular on another. If you like the story then ***** digg it but dont digg it because its popular on reddit. - MikeonTV, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2so now there will 18 million MrBabyMan's a month.
- shreela, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Here's the announcement blog post from the maker, with comments section (in case anyone wants to 'thank' them): http://www.97thfloor.com/blog/announcing-new-tool-social-media-for-firefox-extension/
- c0ldfusi0n, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I can't decide whether to bury this as Lame, Spam or Duplicate.
Nice little network of Zombies you got there though. - cbin500, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Whether we like it or not, the digg page is going to have dups with or without this tool. There are probably 3-5 dups on the homepage at any one time, and that shows me a lot of diggers don't read the other sites and still get the majority of their info from Digg.
Before this tool it was happening and it will continue long after this tool. - krelian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow, an e-penis hardener!
- bigfkncee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Shareaholic already does this better. And without opening a whole new browser window.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5457 - known, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think http://popurls.com is better.
- ParticleMan420, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1um....all the articles are copied anyway.
no one here writes their own articles that arent just links to their blog so they get money. - SlvrEagle23, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3All of you bastards pissed in my Cheerios! Grr!
- Jfave, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I will use it to post new stuff... not crap already on another site.
- DevlinD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thats great and all, I think there is a problem here though. Doesn't Digg's algorithm take into account whether or not a user has clicked on a story (hence actually read it) to derive the true value of a digg? I think it may also take into account the time between a user visiting a story link and the user actually digging the story.
- alexforcefive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I agree, all it does is perpetuate group think
>.> - Assezdefromage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Or you could be here to learn, and not spend your time trying to become the next mrbabyman.
- Skanadian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Anyone who actually uses this needs to get off of Digg.
- kerzhaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Great. More bloody list scruff on the way then.
- BassJunkie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1quite a neat extension, I'd been using the Smart Digg button before which only checked DIgg.com for the page you where currently browsing - funnily enough it could usually get a pages Digg count before it had finished loading!
- hellmit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Don't worry
There's always the fact that reddit looks like absolute *****.
(though digg could fix the damn comment system already..) - samsam123, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I see no one has submitted it to Reddit yet.
- bscene, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Is that all you've got to show for seven and a half million years' work?
- wumps, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I think it's time that the use of the word 'Fail' in this context receives a non passing grade.

- ParticleMan420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1sounds useful.
its so hard for me to click on the Shoutwire and digg bookmaks now - medard, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I like this extension very much. Thank you.
- ParticleMan420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1as opposed to the 50 apple and ubunntu articles that are continually on the digg front page?
sounds like it wont change the way it is now at all, it'll just save the same 10 people that seem to get frontpaged a couple of seconds - omnis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0a little stroke for your ego eh? well done chap...
- ParticleMan420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1it makes them feel like they're important.
its the only way than they CAN in their pathetic little lives anyway, dont take that from them - microjolt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0yawn..this is similar to shareaholic ff extension..
- akor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Seems this is a great tool. Need to try. Thanks.
- mrbad101, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You fail.
- sholdowa, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Under raps eh? Adds a whole new meaning...
- MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Wow. Who pissed in your Cheerios?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+142
- dutchthis, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1i think opening windows is nice. in one quick sweep you can click on all of the links to have all the media sites showing. I think maybe a new tab would be better...
- mindstyle1, on 10/10/2007, -13/+9this tool is so sick, been testing it for a couple weeks now. i wish i could keep it all to myself.
- DariusMonsef, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2I would use this... but please make it so clicking the icons in the status bar doesn't open a new window...
