- Bonekhan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Wouldn't it be great if this website got a 503 error because of the Digg effect?
- TheOneGreatX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16"Did running maximum instant tests for the server".......what?
- fkr3, on 10/24/2007, -2/+16Yes... the next time you don't get 100% uptime on your $4 hosting account make sure you demand a refund, because you're paying for enterprise hosting and are sure to have a sexy little SLA happening on that latte-priced account!
- ThreeDee912, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15Site down from Digg effect in 3... 2... 1...
- vemerge, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9That's all I saw too. Digg effect is probably killing the service.
- inkswamp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Oh yeah, right, because I've been hoping for an easy way to run the maximum instant tests for my server. How useful.
- mungk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5My company uses this service to monitor all of our web sites. We use the pay version though. It checks all of our sites (around 80 or 90) once every three minutes and alerts us if any of them are down. I think it works pretty well.
- Onibus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Spam implies that it is an e-mail soliciting the sale of something.
Or, if not used in e-mail, it implies that someone's trying to sell you something.
This isn't spam. Spam normally doesn't contain >Free< tools.
Nor does this stie cnoatin any ppoups of srot.
It can be uesful tho. - johnny222, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Did you just choose four random words to string together?
- KingBunny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3My favourite part was "please waiting"
- dvsbastard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I got that too... So I entered a bogus URL to see what would happen and it then returned a list of timeouts from several locations... What I would like to see is times and results for servers that I know are up and running!
Has anyone got any useful results?! - shadowspawn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1After hitting submit: Please Waiting...
- vanarsdale, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I like how the server is too busy to run any tests now. NICE
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1682 diggs and its still working fine for me :-D Finally someone who can program a neat web tool also knows how to create a site that can handle Digg.
- mohrt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hmm, all 11 say "timeout", but I can reach my website just fine. Broken (by Digg?)
- Canute, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Thanks. This might actually come in handy some day.
- pixel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm getting "The server is busy" wtf?
- munky100, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16 of the locations are all in the USA, what is the point of that?
- BradCanham, on 08/07/2009, -0/+0there are more tools now in 2009
http://www.dotcom-monitor.com/task_instant_test.as ... - anshuman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11 word. this is anti-host tone unnerves me ,if you are so SLA happy, why not get your own server?
ps:- obviously i am admin at big host corp. - inkswamp, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3That would at least be some useful information.
- justinmstroud, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Is anyone aware of a free service that allows you to see your site through other countries' ip ranges? Most free proxy services I've found are fairly unreliable...it would be nice to have a singe site that shows you the content (I don't need full content, just HTML source) from various countries. We're doing dynamic content delivery via geolocation, and I'd like to test it out.
- learningme, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Really it is a good thing for the needy people.
I am glad to get it. - flush2x, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Yeah... I think their service isn't quite perfected yet. My site (flush2x dot com) is showing up as timing out from every location, yet I can still access my site. I'm chalking it up to the digg effect, but I still don't think I'd be able to use this to leverage a refund.
- breezyflight, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Free advice: If you can't deliver the freight, quit ringing that ***** train bell. Thanks.
- nm42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I tried it, but it was only able to return times from 2 of the servers - I wonder what's happening right now if you're a customer? :) I'm not sure what value it is knowing how it's performing from some random data centers, plus I'm not sure exactly what it's really doing - is it just doing a HEAD request or a wget or something similar? Or is it actually parsing the HTML and including the download of graphics and other components. I think there are other services doing better jobs than this one for page performance:

- neilhill, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0ok,coming man,three
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1That looks awesome. I'll be using that for sure!
- cheesepants, on 10/11/2007, -12/+4111 diggs... that's the most I've ever seen for a SPAM article. Buried.

What is Digg?
