- heffer2k02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I contacted my phone number neighbours once, (one digit up and down on your mobile (or land line (less fun)). One was some girl who didn't appreciate my attempts to flirt with her - the other was a 13 year old boy calling himself 'blaze' who tried to become my friend. Great fun...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19im the only one on my channel :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Good firewalls make good neighbors
- skyice, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10if there is no one in your channel try this instead
http://digg.jibdig.com/ - CadMasterAdam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8great now i have another distraction:
"Web 2.0 Gave me ADD" - katyggls, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Um, you're on Digg. We're nerds, hello? Being on the same subnet IS something in common.
- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4works fine in firefox 1.5.0.4
- relaxmax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4not true.
- skoops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4rofl @127.0. chat
- praet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4hrmm.. must be adblock or something thats stopping the enter buttons from working (the forms redirect to the same page)
- Galileo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5My room is empty because my company owns their class B network ... I guess everyone else is working right now :)
- Evil-Dragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I managed to break it, cannot do anything on it or submit a bug report. lol
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Erm, your exactly right, it's a "social experiment".. It's not the point that it's usefull, it's just for fun..
- Ben - TheRappingShoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4All alone in my 84.9 room :(
- spiffytech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think that it all depends on your geographic location. My understanding is that your ISP assigns you an IP based on where you are, and if someone else has the same ISP and is in your vicinity, they'll be on the same subnet.
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Turn it on its head. Add chat functionality to the comments section on Digg. Then you can have proper discussions, and the results could be linked in the comments section.
- Negyxo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Somehow i don't think that would work out so well.. *glares at http://digg.jibdig.com/*
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2[ircboy] is now listening to I'm Emo Give Me Your Spare Change by Some ***** Punk Group
spyrochaete slaps ircboy around a bit with a large trout - DrPh0bius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Interesting as a social experiment, but who really cares otherwise? Why do I want to talk to someone just because they happen to be on my subnet? I usually prefer a bit more in common with the people I interact with... (hey, you have brown hair, lets talk!)
- terminalcode, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1has anyone here figured out any commands to use........?
- Hurricane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just change the first 2 parts of the IP in the URL and you can go to any room.
- Hurricane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually it appears that if you change the first part of the URL to anything you can sorta initiate a new chatroom....kinda cool...dug
- positron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I must live in the Net boonies. I've got no neighbors :(
- Hurricane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+169.21.x.x resolves as Wisconsin, I am in Tennessee....TDS makes me laugh
- jeffrowe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about adding an RSS fee to the digg.jobdig chatroom?
Post the rss feed as is DIGG were a user inside the chat? Kind of a realtime comments section on the items as they are posted? Maybe provide digg buttons in the feed? - john570, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Carrboro! What a cool place to live.
- spiffytech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Someone else from Carrboro, NC please join!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey bob, can i borrow some bandwidth?
- sailor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WTF do you think this is....???

(00:28:23) Boris: yo
(00:28:27) Boris: hello out there
You're the only one in this channel right now. If you have friends on the same network (or using the same internet service), send them this link to invite them in. You can also leave a message for anyone else who comes here, or wait around to see who else comes.

(00:38:07) Agret has joined the channel.
(00:38:19) Agret: ey
Appears I joined 10 mins too late =( But what are the odds of having someone else online on same subnet... - Bonzodog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1also, there is an IRC channel...#digg on irc.freenode.net
- kuzkos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm alone too, though there was a message from the so called "iggy" before I joined.
- askewed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm all alone... there's no-one here beside me >:(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great concept. would love to see this catch on.
- RickySan65, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2You mean firefox isnt working right?
- numb401, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The digg room shows how bright and mature the majority of digg users are, its full of the same people doing join/part spam.
- loudy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is really cool but It's no fun when there is just one person on. Hopefully the word will get out.
- tintub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2someone in my channel, he's not very responsive though :D
- blackbrutha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool idea. Too bad aint no one on from my hood. Missed them by a few hours. I will stay logged in in another tab and see if any neighbors show up. Peace out DIGG NERDS.
- EatMoreCarbs42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0When i click "Enter 68.45.local" it just flickers and doesnt do anything.
- ellisgl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Spiffy - Not really. If your ISP uses DHCP - I could be 1.1.1.2 here in Texas and 1.1.1.3 could be in Rhode Island. When I went to this page - I was noticed I had a 24.xxx.xxx.xxx address, which is weird for me since I have been given 209.xxx.xxx.xxx for the past couple years.
- lordbal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it still working for anybody? I can't seem to join any channels.
- funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1chating is so 90's. I don't see any reason to "chat" anymore. Most people are arrogant ***** who have absolutely nothing to say. The few who have something to say usually just scroll and say "try to ban me bitch".
The whole subnet chatting could have changed the direction of the internet if AOL had implemented it in 1992 though.
Uninteresting idea that is way past it's time. - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Visit the digg.jibdig.com -- there are people there =)
- scoho, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0DrPh0bius, I agree. I don't get it?
- procdaddy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0:/ are you trying to spawn stalkers?
- praet, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Not working in Firefox.
- spiffytech, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Switch to Opera 9- works there!
