- tjp368, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This list is not that good. It's just a bunch of spyware removers and toolbars. They should have things people could really use like hex editors and ftp clients. They didn't list the best free ftp client, SmartFTP, the best free hex editor, XVI32, and the best text editor, TextPad, so I list them for you.
- tjp368, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm, link didn't work.
SmartFTP: http://www.smartftp.com
XVI32: http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm
TextPad: http://www.textpad.com - Cmain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Very nice. A very complete and helpful list.
- ColdWind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yet another list of well known software. I'm sure there aren't digg users who really need this list. No digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0also look at:
tinyapps.org
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/index.html
http://www.cmdtools.com/ - Archon810, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is a very good list. i got some suggestions from there and installed them. very happy.
- monkeyshiner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it can always be posted again.. its always useful
- Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gizmo's site is awesome, and his monthly newsletter is the only one I do (or would) pay for. Dugg.
- xtreamzion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1site can't hadle diggers
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Totally agree w/ u masterzora. If I skip reading Digg for a day or two I make sure I catch up w/ all the stories I've missed. Sure it takes a little more time, but it's worth it.
- znxster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice list.. and a lot of what i already use
- leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I noticed that this list was missing some of my favorite software titles, so I whipped up my own. Let me know what you think!
http://www.geocities.com/themejunky/ - gh3tto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Holy ***** Batman, what a big list
- mogwhy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some amazing products:

http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ - bobpaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know, I'm an OSS whore, but...
The first 10 are pretty much covered in linux... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Try again, this time less fallacious."
There's nothing fallacious about it...it's a democratic system and the people either make it or break it, bottom line. What's so difficult about that to understand bro? - republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No digg because they said, "Internet Explorer is a good browser". No IE is not a good browser!
- Gringo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love how everyone get their briefs in a not when one of these lists come out.
- sabotage10, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1great list!
- eschatonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DIGG seriously needs to get threaded comments so I can have a convenient easy-to-read way to enjoy all the flamewars that are starting to get into slashdot-sized proportions (like the beaut-of-a-war going on above, this is top quality nerd angst action, and I want it easy-to-read-at-a-glance, dammit.
It seems like just a few months ago 25 comments was a HUGE amount to have for an article. Now there are 100+ commented article every day. Let's get this shiznit *threaded*. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And nothing will change masterzora until the admins decide to change anything. You can call people morons all you want, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that haven't seen this submission before, and thus they digg it. If calling them morons is your take on it then there's nothing else to bitch about with you.
- Matteos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is slightly useful to those who have missed it on previous posts. (Though maybe there should be a separate section for utilities/software)
- glitchbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no maxthon no digg
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Quit complaining already...don't bitch at the poster, bitch at Digg instead of whining all the time, jebus christos!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"@Jigsaw:
But the poster is the one doing something wrong."
Uhhh...apparently not, otherwise it wouldn't have been dugg 437 times. - shackbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Newspapers do do that. They're called "follow-ups." They get away with it (sometimes) because they add some more info.
- Historian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0If you don't like it then don't digg it.
- MattPF, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well this is a dupe, but I'll go ahead with another shameless plug:
My list of free equivalents to commerical software (that I often share with family/friends):
http://www.farleyfamily.net/articles/freesoftware/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"christ, why???!!! why does this have to make it to the main page EVERY ***** TIME IT'S POSTED???!!"
Why? Because it can and it did, lol - silentknight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0All right programs. Some really suck and are bloatware. Some are good. The guys opinions are really weird...
- cokebottletuque, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0heh i just find it funny how meny of thous programs i use.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Who cares how many ***** times its been posted. Its new to me and im sure its new to a lot of people, just because you have no life and look at digg all day doesnt mean everyone else does.
- weirdal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2you know, there is a reason newspapers don't print the same story the next day, regardless of how many people didn't see it the day before.
- masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@Jigsaw:
Argumentum ad Populum. One of the most common fallacies.
Try again, this time less fallacious. - circusbred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd rather bitch at the whiners.
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Can't we atleast live in peace--it's Lennon's Silver Death Annivesary.
- cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1christ, why???!!! why does this have to make it to the main page EVERY ***** TIME IT'S POSTED???!!
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1It isn't funny how many times this has been on front. Do this, subscribe to the RSS feed instead of Digging this site for the ninth time.
- jhaitas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0lame
- masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@Jigsaw:
Wrong. It's not a democratic system. As stands, you can only digg for it. Yes, there's a report, but that's more for if there is a problem with a story than for voting against the story, and it's not 1:1. When there's a negative vote, we can talk democratic, but for now it only takes a handful of morons to front page a story, and there's plenty of people who digg things just because they are on the front page. - masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@shackbar:
A follow-up is not the same thing as a dupe, no matter how much you try to degrade them to such a status. - tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0If Digg cared so much they would have moderators.
- masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@Historian:
Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away. - utch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0this has been posted more than 4 times... more like 13 or 14
- lebowski419, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0This is old, stop posting it
- masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0@TastyPastry:
You know who cares? Apparently Digg cares. Ever see http://www.digg.com/submit ? It specifically states "Avoid duplication of submissions". Ever see the "problems?" menu? It has an option for duplicate submissions, too. So apparently, Digg cares, which is all that matters. - masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0@Matteos:
It might be helpful, but that doesn't make it news. I'm still waiting for the newspapers to rerun stories "just in case somebody missed it yesterday" - tarun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Thanks for your opinion guy who has a nekkid lady for an icon and hasn't contributed anything to Digg.
- endernet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0OMFG!! This has now been posted 4 times!!!
