- c0dek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love how the homebrew folks try their "Geekier than thou" speeches to deride people who have upgraded their firmware. I'm also a believer in using the hardware I purchased the way I want to, it just happens that I don't want to do the homebrew stuff. I didn't buy a psp to play nes or snes games, just like I won't buy a revolution to do that.
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also - It will have all the same features as the Japanese version did. Also if you installed the Japanese v2.0 you can still install the USA v2.0 when it is out!
- owenkun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Meanwhile, those that value the ability to use the hardware that they'd purchased in ways that they see fit release a collective yawn.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0(In the Japanese firmware, if installed on a US psp - you can experience: out-of-sync video, inability to upgrade firmware further, no more homebrew!, etc.)
I upgraded using the japanese (which was not actually japanese, just the region-free update that was released in japan) firmware, and my video is fine, there's been no firmware to upgrade further to, and homebrew was out in 1.51. - sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0im goin 2 upgrade to 2.0 jap version till the USA one comes out lol i just wanta get my hands on that browser and plus i was retarted and upgraded to 1.51 anyways!
Hey "gamerzworld" next time you post and article and expect it 2 make it 2 the homepage dont name it "2.0 for the U.S. will be 8/12/05!?!" that makes absoulutley no sense! - sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is the "offical" Sony Announcement

(PS: Sorry, but I posted the entire message on my blog because there was no actual page I could find that had this message except one on USA Sony Message Boards.) - duranracing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have the region free and its fine. Some of you guys are just hating cuz you werent brave enough 'then again we were stupid enough' to risk your psp. Therefore weve played with all the new stuff and you guys are going to be late to the party.
- dnthomps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You guys are too funny. Everybody rushing to upgrade to 2.0 when all I want to do is downgrade to 1.5
- dtrinh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0plus the tenchi no mon browser can be used (as homebrew) on a 1.5..
the only notable feature of 2.0 is the ability to download stuff directly to your psp. - gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This kind of repost ***** is get tired some! Its really slowin down digg! 2nd digg story after the first one! http://digg.com/software/2.0_for_the_U.S._will_be_8_12_05_
- Dezrik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who in their right mind would update just b/c theres a new browser??
uhhh HOMEBREW WOOOO - serpentor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So what happens to hombrew once a true must-have game comes out on the PSP? (say GTA) That's going to give those homebrew types a difficult choice, because up until now, the games that force the firmware upgrade have been utter crap on a stick..
- gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0***** u Digg bandwith eaters
