- mapin0518, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14how the heck is skype buggy spyware? it's the best thing to have happened to voip communications as far as I can tell. I got my whole family using it without any firewall port configurations or cross-platform problems that I would have with aim/ichat.

- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11spyware on a mac?
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"allowed to use your computer's resources"
*gasp* RESOURCES?! You'd almost think Skype was... a PROGRAM! MY GOD! - misc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Does this mean a Linux release is not far behind???
- rogerk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Wouldn't it be nice if people went with open standards? OpenWengo (http://www.openwengo.org), anyone?
- TheDusk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Aaawweeessooommmeeeee. =]
No really, awesome. - dombi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6We all knew this was going to happen sooner or later. :-)
I am glad that it is here finally. - iparker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4finally, i will be able to video call anyone with a web-cam!
- Bhima, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3everytime I use it with the iSight, for any length of time, the mike cuts off until I reboot... _including_ the latest version... I just tried it.
- ChrisHentchel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3# Make video calls to anyone on Skype, no matter what kind of computer they are using.
the only new feature, ive been using skype for a year and love it.
i guess its good that its gold? - nirvanix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm still waiting for linux version with video....
- navvvv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4no one made you install linux.
- ascheinberg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Calling with a webcam is tough. Try calling with a phone, or even a computer.

:) - macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Once eBay took over Skype it seemed that Linux was totally overlooked. It may not be mission critical in their eyes but they use it on their servers. This does save them money. The Linux version is at what - 1.3'ish or so? Insulting to say the least.
Perhaps there should be a join effort by the Linux community to request updates to the Linux Skype client. At least they should release a relatively new'ish Beta.
Or may a site could be setup with a petitioning for Linux support by Skypes parent company eBay. - ninjaX14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2how the heck do you sign up for Skype...i got to the site and i don't see any links to sign up for it...but yet i can download it?? anyone else has this problem?
- rdoger6424, on 10/12/2007, -2/+410.10.220 plus the number
- kingp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm still waiting on a linux version where the mic works. I still can't use Skype for anything more than a chat client. I can't seem to find any instructions to make skype work on a Fedora Core 5 system with KDE and Soundblaster 5.1 card. It's impossible!!!!!
- davefretty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2says 'Make video calls to anyone on Skype, no matter what kind of computer they are using.' But no matter what kind of OS you're using. Linux stuck at 1.3 fed up with this and Flash 8.
- BMcClure937, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I had been using Skype BETA release for OSX with video for a long time. The BETA was a little bit buggy but now that the actual 2.0 Gold release came out there seem to be no bugs (which is expected). Skype is one of the top apps for any Mac or PC!!
And... Skype is not Spyware... it uses your computers resources in a constructive way... they obviously need to control your iSight and audio devices for everything to work. - Books, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wtf, Skype keeps crashing on my machine. PowerMac G5 :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This should be under 'Apple'. I blocked the Apple category and this is distinctly blockable.
- kingp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Truthfully, it probably means that another linux version will not be released for another year. They only have two developers working on the linux client. Oddly enough, the development problem would be solved if they'd open the code for it.
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What are you talking about? Flash 9 Beta is available for Linux as of a few days ago.
- bocher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just had a half hour skype video session on Mac - absolutely perfect
thanks to the guys at skype - much appreciated
Barry - krishenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I LOVE SKYPE. I have lots of friends and family overseas and it really saves me a lot of money. And now with video, I can see their ugly mugs too! :-) Thank you Skype.
- krishenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Download it and then when you run it for the first time, it will ask you to set up your account etc. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me. Hope that helps.

- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3what's your ip (ehehehehe)
- predius, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0They're allowed to use your computer's resources, look at the EULA.
- Bhima, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1*****... does work with the iSight yet?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -28/+1Skype is buggy spyware and it will never go anywhere near my systems.
