Cmon OS X - Sagres, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Huh? Mac Os X Official release. Version: 1.4.0.35. Release date: January 5, 2006
Looks new to me. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 nuclearpenguins: how many desktop computers are there around the world? suddently 5% isnt that little afterall..

"anyone notice they use firefox when showing you how to download and install (lol) the program? nice."
No, if you load the page in IE then it will display instructions for IE. It depends which browser you use. It's a neat touch from Skype. - johnkimble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1for all the people on mac complaining about no update for them:
i'm not downloading the update for pc, just for you! in fact i'm not even a skype user. go figgur.
+digg for watching all you babies cry about a 2-3 day wait. - Atheist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Sorry Mac fans, if you want cool software you need a machine that can run it. If I was a software developer I wouldn't give 5% of the marketshare a second thought."
That's likely due to your fundamental lack of understanding of a concept called demographics. Mac users are always disproportionally higher in spending their money than their 4.7% of PC sales would suggest.
Ever wonder why commercial time on Dave Letterman's show is more expensive than Jay Leno, despite that Leno gets consistently higher ratings? It's because people that watch Letterman are in a demographic that spends more money. - havaloc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't forget Gizmo Project, which is probably better than Skype (but not as popular).
- TCEuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for the info. Downloaded.
[The new calling sounds are random] - hankosky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Download!
- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For some reason I think that, while the overall marketshare of Mac is 5%, more than 5% of Skype users are on OS X.
Am I way off? - spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0okay, when i tried to download i got the 1.4 exe . it said that 2 was new. but i still got the 1.4
- zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gimme an O
Gimme an S
Gimme an .... alright, you probably know where I'm going with this... - Bananas21ca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yep its sad how linux users are always left out. You would think a os that is free would take off like a wildfire.
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Sorry Mac fans, if you want cool software you need a machine that can run it. If I was a software developer I wouldn't give 5% of the marketshare a second thought."
You're a idiot for thinking that, Im sure that that 5% still buys air time from skype. - Books, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0- digg for lying to me about the mac update..and making me click 'digg' before anxiously trying to update.
:( - davdav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@silic0n: I haven't posted garbage, but I don't think that they can edit their posts.
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good find!! +digg
- Botond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0anyone notice they use firefox when showing you how to download and install (lol) the program? nice.
- nazzdeq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Keep that crap off of OS X. I tried the OS X version on a new Powerbook and Skype sucked 6 ways from Sunday. Nothing but crappy sound and echos to no end. How or why anyone can stand to use Skype is beyond me. - JudgeDredd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Different than the beta version. D/L
- Mutifus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Tut tut tut... what about Mac OS X and Linux.
:( - omniatlas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is great, my isight on winxp no longer has the video overexposure problem. now if only some developer would program the ability to use the isight's inbuilt mike everything would be perfect.
- uc79stu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Keep that crap off of OS X. I tried the OS X version on a new Powerbook and Skype sucked 6 ways from Sunday. Nothing but crappy sound and echos to no end. How or why anyone can stand to use Skype is beyond me."
It works great if you use a headphone. I have used the built-in mic on powerbooks and iBooks w/ just regular headphones and it works great even w/ someone using dial-up. Echos are gone immediately using headphones. - Tr0uble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Skype video works much better than msn messenger to my low bandwidth friends. Great program!
- wizgha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool, thanks for this.
- X_cell_er_8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wheres The Linux Version, SKYPE!?
- EvanO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OS X, it's coming soon, that's what they're saying. Can't wait.
- unknowndomain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0;( crys for mac support, pcs r crappo and ruine the world
- dagmaggot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Virge you eediot! How dare you get my hopes up for the OSX version
- nimm2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0looks great works great sounds suck
- macman81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0where is the beta 2.0 for mac? my pending question.
- paulmetzger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awww, screw it
- skamp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"(PC and Mac)"
WTF, this isn't 1996 anymore. I use a PC and it runs linux, and oh noes, there's only a Microsoft *Windows* version. Stop assuming PC = Windows. Thank you.
No digg. - BillVick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0eBay (Skype's new owners) need a wake up call on why the majority of users (not owners) and net savvy citizens use Macs. Where is my Mac 2.0 and Skype video?
- gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No digg .... who cares about windows :P We want mac and linux updates :P
- Bananas21ca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope Skype 2.0 for linux wont be as ugly as the previous version. God thats ugly.
- battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How is this a digg? It maight be a digg for those who have absolutely no clue as to what Skype could possibly be, but tatint no digg if you already use Skype and have been notified via Automatic Update, idiot.
- hardwarehank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hmm...no Linux version update either. No surprise, but they really need to start using ALSA instead of OSS...cant stand it.
- paulmetzger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that should be
Mac < - &gr Windows
I had to do & lt/gr to get it to do that... - battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Since everytime someone talks about skype someone comes up saying gizmo is better, I must ask: how is it better?
Skype just works fine, why wouuld I change to another proprietary system? (I'd love to get an answer) - joshpape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mac to pc video is all i want. Come on mac version. I hope they add video support between the two
- grayapple, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well the OSX version of skype was updated, just not to version 2.0. The ***** login sound scared the crap outa me.
- ajmuir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It still says BETA by the Video option in the Tools>Options menu. Strange.
- thechitowncubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0god they have left the linux based os users in the dust
- paulmetzger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just want a reliable, free, good Mac Windows video chat program. Right now I'm using iChat -> AIM (5.9, NOT Trition) and it works okay, but the AIM side only gets a tiny video window.
Here's hoping that Jobs announces iChat for windows at macworld. - trqy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Arrrrgh ! ! ! STOP THAT ***** WIN/MAC WAR!
The same story everytime whatever the topic is.. - 1ivewire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg for new sounds, though the classic ones are better.
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0botond:
