- DaNKBuDZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18The timestop crack works perfectly.
- jopsen, on 10/12/2007, -13/+28Thats nice, since you have to format you windows partition every half year anyway... :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13WHY NOT JUST DO THIS ??????????????
1)Buy Home Premium Upgrade version( or download whatever version you want :P) PICK VISTA ULTIMATE as you download choice
2)Than do the CLEAN full install trick( full install without key than upgrade and put upgrade key in viola' )
3) Call Microsoft support tell them there was no serial sticker in the Boxed OS
"VERY IMPORTANT"
4) MS will ask you for the pat: Number on the CD itself give number ( if you don't own the cd) go into any EB games of Zellars/Walmart and that pat.Number is on the back left of each Vista Case( copy number down and give to Microsoft Support) thats all they need for proof of purchase of Ultimate VIsta
as these numbers do not differentiate between different the Vista OS's only. It only shows you purchased whatever OS you tell MS you bought upgrade or full in Ultimate /home/business.
5) I have done this 15 times all over the Country ...Canada and India i have had the most success but no where did i have an issue whats so ever
So if your interested by all means feel free to do this. I have 5 Ultimate Full version Keys and 2 Home Premium Keys myself for me and my Family the rest went to friends and cohorts ...trust this works 100 % :)
ALOT EASIER - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Maybe I'm paranoid but I wouldn't brag about illegally running a copy of Vista in a public forum.... especially if you're in the USA
But that's just me - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7What are you doing with your OS if you need to reformat it every 6 months..? It's not particularly hard to keep free of viruses and other crapware, aside from that there's very little that should break Windows.. I've had the same install for years, the last time I had to reformat was because of a weird partition error due to a combination of installing Windows 2000 and Fedora Core before putting XP back on (And looking back, I could have fixed without wiping the Windows partition)
Window's really isn't as unstable as people claim it to be - But then again, I'm forgetting it's cool to slate Microsoft.. - RexyRex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I cannot imagine what Microsoft's reason for putting that "feature" in is.
- Brandondork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6or just download a crack and never worry about it

- xxNIRVANAxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"though some say the XP UI is better"
Who the ***** says that? Luna is hideous. Thank God for the UXTheme patch. - alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"my first question is why would I run Vista in the first place. It's way too crippled, stupid DRM, and other stupid crap. Just run OS X!"
The funny thing is there was just an article on digg that made it to the front page that explains that:
Vista DRM simply gives you the choice of playing back DRMed content and it does not prevent you from playing back non-DRMed content." It also doesn't add DRM to your unprotected content.
Of course Apple fanboys and Linux zealots marked it as lame so it got pushed off the front page. Anyway, here it is: http://digg.com/microsoft/Vista_Doesn_t_Add_DRM_To_Unprotected_Content - damentz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Incase the timestop crack links are down.
- ScottDaMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5If you install and uninstall alot of software over a lot of months, you'll need to format to keep it running effecient
- joshpowell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Already done with any of the countless timestopper cracks actually.
- rende, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How effective is activation at stopping windows piracy in any case? It seems to be more of a pain for legit customers than the pirates.
- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Good news, but I wish activation keys weren't there in the first place. It's easy to reactivate on the phone, but it's still a hassle aimed against the consumer rather than for it.
- M4tt3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"...feature even existed (let alone the cumbersome key sequence needed to bring it up)."
You mean Windows Key+Tab? Boy that was cumbersome .
Stop talking out of your ass. - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well you have to realize that Microsoft makes the most money from OEM sales. Virtually every new computer sold will come with it. That's going to add up quite nicely over time.
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As apprehensive as I am towards Vista, I have to admit that I'm pretty happy with Microsoft on the fairly lenient evaluation period Vista has. I have yet to install it, and I probably wouldn't for months or maybe years, but if I can just borrow a copy, legitimately install it, and then activate if I am happy with how it works with my hardware, etc, I am -way- more likely.
- starguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Timestop works when you do a 32bit install. Timestop doesn't work on a 64 bit install (yet?). Be sure, of course, to turn off automatic updates.
- alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Well, windows has a virtual key: the string of numbers and letters that you type in.
OS X has a physical, tangible key: the Mac that you bought from Apple. - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1[Firefox's reopen tab doesn't remember the Reply-to state]
- Crowforge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Funny, I need an OS for more than three months...
- Kaer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was using Vista for 3 weeks and the Activation still says 28 days left.
Never re-armed, no time trick, installed without a key too. Windows Updates still works fine and receives updates as they're sent out. - DCMacHead, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Run OS X forever with no activation key
- Ocelot13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea, too bad slmgr.vbs -rearm doesnt always work. you can even edit the rearm amounts, but still, no worky. i got confirmation to restart...restarted. nothing changed. so yea, im back to xp...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wowbagger:
I can see where some people come from when it comes to Microsoft. They are more of a monopoly than any other company around today. Well, maybe not so much a monopoly as de Beers, but they definately exploit their dominating position in the market. There is a real morality question here, and when you combine that with how easy it is to just download this stuff and not pay the hundreds of dollars that you otherwise would have it's a no brainer for many. I'm actually installing Ubuntu on a virtual machine right now -- it just costs too much to upgrade all my hardware and then shell out the cash for the OS. - alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Despite all the FUD from Microsoft, the bitTorrent versions of XP and Vista are as good, reliable, rootkit-safe etc as the retail packaging. One should still purchase a license legitimately if you're going to run the piece of ***** for an extended period of time."
It's not FUD. Some people want Microsoft do distributes ISOs of Vista through bittorrent, but if even one customer gets a bad copy, then Microsoft gets screwed. A download from Microsoft's website is faster anyway. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2umm automated batch file to do it for me??? 8D
- pyrates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ wafflez
And you'll come to realize that come June, your vista copy will expire. That was NOT a new crack. It was an old one and was debunked a few days after it was posted. You should learn to pay more attention.
@ tonycubed
That only occurs if you install WITH a cd key. If you don't put a cd key and leaves it blank, then it does give you 30 days to activate. And thus with this 3 times to rearm it, you can extend it to 120 days. - tomski, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2So, who cares about buying vista. After usind any windows installation you have to re-install it every 120 days anyway!
- EXreaction, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This is PERFECT!
Thanks guys! :D
Dell is dragging it's ass sending out the Vista upgrade kits, I installed Vista a while back(with the disk MS sent me for participating in that Power Together thing) and the 30 day limit would have ended in a few days(and Dell has yet to even ship the package yet). - lxkate23xl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0im on this page obviously, but what do i click to download it?
- pbaehr, on 10/12/2007, -11/+10"won't BitTorrent versions be littered with viruses or spyware."
Yeah, but that's how it comes out of the box, too.
(I couldn't help myself.) - cevil203, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1o thanks for the repost...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Talk to a friend who already bought it and just don't activate it...
Or there are other ways to obtain the software. Wafflez can tell you all about it. I'm sure it has something to do with IRC or bittorrent. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have a better idea. Run OSX forever !
Just install it and ... well, there is no "and", just install it.
Why the hell would you even think about running vista anyway ? - alarion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1^^^^ lol, speak english much?
- enybo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ wowbagger - Somehow I don't think Bill Gates is struggling to feed his family.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah you run me down WOWbagger but i can beat you will be the first to try this EH !!!!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0....Or..........wait for it.....go to best buy and get the cd key of a running display computer.
- xiojqwnko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0TimerLock
Thats all you need.
works for all versions x86 and 64 & works with windows update. - code_of_life, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1marked lame.
You only get 3 rearms, then you need to reinstall.
If you really need to bypass activation there are better ways - drew120, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That only works if you want to pay for the upgrade copy and do a clean install. Once you "upgrade" your "clean install" it still asks for a key.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2You are a fraudulent *****.
Kids like you are what is wrong with America, spoilt little tosspots that think they have the right to any property they want.
You'll never get a job other than flipping burgers down at BurgerKing, and then they will fire you because you refuse to learn spanish.
Prepare for a drab life popping in and out of jail *****. - radiofrequency, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Despite all the FUD from Microsoft, the bitTorrent versions of XP and Vista are as good, reliable, rootkit-safe etc as the retail packaging. One should still purchase a license legitimately if you're going to run the piece of ***** for an extended period of time.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This is precisely what I've come to expect from digg kids.
The belief that they are entitled to whatever they want for free.
I know that most of the kids here will amount to nothing in life, but some of you may be lucky enough to write code that ships in a product, as I do, or lucky enough to own your own brand at some point, which I did.
If you are that lucky, which 99.99999% of you will not (simply because you're already on the wrong footing at such an early age) then you'll be very well aware of the punk little kid down the street with his bumfluff mustache uploading an ISO of your life's work to some unethical flesh shop in China to distribute en-masse and affecting your ability to feed your family.
People who download this stuff, circumvent mechanisms put in place to stop you from pirating are nothing more than pond scum anti social *****. - DivideOverflow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Yeah, why the hell WOULD you want to run Vista? Go buy a Mac, trash your PC, and break the chains that Microsoft has held you down with. Stop acting like a Microsoft lemming! Become an Apple lemming instead! Oh. . wait. .
This just begs the question. . if a Mac boots up and no one is around to hear it. . did it really happen?
Windows, Apple, Linux and BSD all bow down before the glory of BeOS / Yellowtab! - TonyCubed, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Well, this would be nice to do, but I need to find out why my Windows Vista setup keeps locking itself down after I install the trial version of Vista. It goes into that 3 day limited access mode straight after the install or just shortly after. :
- bil4l, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Or....
You could just start a 30 day trial without entering your keycode and then install vista over itself and have a full retail version using the upgraded version. -
