- dweekly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6utcursch,
So glad you like PBwiki. :) While we run on our own software (just like Digg, Google, etc), we have APIs for getting data in and out and also make it really easy to extend by letting users drop in widgets (like 30 Boxes spreadsheets or YoutTube videos) and custom HTML (for widgets from third parties that can let you vote, post audio, etc). If you'd like more, I'm all ears. - utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5PBWiki is great. Many people find it better than Wikia, because it's somewhat more user-friendly and also because it looks different from Wikipedia. The only drawback is that PBwiki's software is proprietary. On the other hand, with MediaWiki (the open-source software that Wikia runs on) you can create custom stuff like voting ( http://gaming.wikia.com/ )
WikiMatrix has a nice comparison:

- jenwright134, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome. Totally dugg
- rinkjustice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My marketing group in college has been using the pbwiki for our class projects. The more we use it, the more we love it and we're starting to fully appreciate it's brilliance and functionality. PBwiki is one of the best web apps on the internet (that I know of), and that's saying a lot since I like to try out every new thing that comes along ;)
Please continue to keep it free for students and casual users. They will become paying cusomers in time, when they realize what an invaluable tool it is. - N3wtR0ckn13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is okay, but I prefer moodle over this any day.
- leolll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Perhaps it's a wiki?
- noamsml, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gotta love how the teachers completely mangle technical terms in the first video.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Im still waiting on the openid support

What an e-Portfolio should be.
A simple, safe e-Portfolio network for teachers, students and alumni. Share ideas. Learn collaboratively. Get and give help. Post articles. Collaborate online. And digitally archive the entire educational experience. Showcase original art, videos, important papers, presentations and anything else you want to share." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Seems great.. but I would prefer using something like an image/discussion board script..
They dont require much knowledge to setup..

Software can be found here: http://trevorchan.org - dweekly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1goldentofu - we give people their own (public/private) hosted wikis for free. Extra features (more control over who can access the wiki, what it looks like, more storage space) are offered for a paid subscription - it's kind of like web shareware. :)
- djenryte, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1On a semi related note, the VP of marketing for PBwiki hosts a pretty good finance/general savings blog. The guy is pretty sharp and gives tons of free advice on saving money and investing. http://www.IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com
