- jozb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8yay finally i can digg. hi to all fellow diggers.
- The_Ox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5LOVE Opera mini - works well on the SLVR L7 phone.
- squeevey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The problem with auto-update is that it would be wasting bandwidth. I say this because some people have plans that charge per amount of data transferred. Even a notification would be a waste of bandwidth because if you did not upgrade you would see that notification everytime.
- stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Great update to a great program.
dugg - blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4As a J2ME developer I can tell you those guys at opera are gods. When you look at the tools you have to develop this thing and how well it works you can only be admirative.
- ramunas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This version kicks ass :)
- slyckidiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Upgraded today... works great!
- Jakub81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hoe many people have Blackberry? How many people have cell phones with Java?
- mirunit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I digg this, I have had 1.0 on my S710a and its by far the best mobile browser you can get - plus its free!
- myhumps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great browser!
- stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I don't know and I don't care. You have Windows Mobile; there's no reason to run a crippled, scaled-down Java midlet version of this program. I was just trying to help you out, not prove you wrong. Sheesh.
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I know. I hate it. I'm off verizon soon, luckily.
- metaphysical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3SWEET! I use this everyday.
- camtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Even though they don't offer it, it does work on a palm zire72 w/wifi card. Just follow the directions for the Tungsten C.
- mvrck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2builds on the same great technology of the Desktop version. Opera is a perfect contender in size and speed to the bloated FF. Opera rocks, period. Watch out for the release of Opera 9 for the desktop very soon.
- howie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That doesn't make sense. All those extra features are hidden or disabled by default, so if you don't want to use them, just don't use them. You won't even notice that they are there.
- artemster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"web at the bar?"
you gotta love their flash demo - I guess no more paleoliminology-related bar fights - stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4You guys are downloading the wrong app. This is the version for Windows Mobile devices:
http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/winmobileppc/ - YouKnowWho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I use it on my Sony Ericsson T616, it works wonders. Miles ahead better than the built-in browser the phone ships with.
- LouisC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Kinda. It skims down pages so they're readable on the tiny screen.
- Sassanix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no scroll wheel on the Nokia 9500 or any other optimazation for the phone... besides that it runs.
- pornel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, Opera Mini does support CSS by either heavily transforming regular (screen) styles (Opera calls it Small Screen Rendering) or by using styles for media=handheld (which are simplified a bit, but nothing gets broken like on Pocket IE).
- davidirock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It asks if you want to keep old data on my Sony Erickson z520a and if you hit yes then all of your bookmarks don't get erased.
- joel.smith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is how a mobile browser SHOULD be.
Awesome digg. Thanks! - streetblader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sweet.. too bad verizon cripples all their phones, so my phone won't work with it.
- corsairstw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg looks awesome on Opera mini, BTW.
- nexus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Simple solution: change to cingular, t-mobile, or sprint. Its your fault for using verizon.
- etx313, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Woah, this rocks. Opera is the shiznite!
- CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it also dose not uninstall the vision for BB
- DrummerGirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice changes. What I would really like to see is the browser automatically update itself, or atleast notify you the next time you run the program that an update is available. If it wasn't for Digg, I probably wouldn't ever have updated from the first version...
- bigredgpk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm using it on my moto V360 and am loving it! but why couldn't my bookmarks been imported? it's going to be a bitch entering all of the again
- tbfl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just upgraded on my V635 from 1.2 and am posting from it now. Very slick version. Going to go upgrade the version on my palm now.
- scottauth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sprints normal web browser is horrid when browsing a website like Digg, however Opera Mini makes it amazing.
Going to upgrade now. - surfing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I got this to work on my PPC 6700. Here is what I did:
1. Download the Opera Mini Jar and Jad
2. Search google for: j9 jvm site:www14.software.ibm.com
3. Download and install wm50-arm-midp20 to your PC
4. Extract the contents of the wm50-arm-midp20...zip file
5. ActiveSync your 6700 to your PC and click the [Explore] button
6. Double click on the "My Mobile-Based Device" icon to get to the root
7. Copy the opera-mini-....jar and opera-mini-....jad
8. Create a new folder: J9
9. Create a new folder inside of "J9" called: MIDP20
10. Copy the bin, doc, examples and lib folders extracted above (step 4) to the MIDP20 folder
11. From the PPC, open File Explorer
12. Navigate to J9MIDP20bin
13. Select: emulator
14. Once this loads, click "Install"
15. Type the path and jad file name:
File:///opera-mini-3.0.6306-advanced-int.jad
16. Click "OK"
17. Select "Yes" on any warning messages until Opera loads
18. Follow the Opera setup instructions
Hope this helps - corsairstw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is incredible. I've been using the browser for months now and it is definitely the best option for mobile browsing! Thanks, Opera!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I use my RAZR's WAP browser and it downloads and installs fine, but when I run Opera Mini it shows "Testing..." and then says "You do not have a working network connection....". I'm on T-Mobile, anyone got it working?
- sonyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This version is great. I like the razr-pink skin :D
- soupisgoodfood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1w00t! This wasn't avalible on Palm at the begining. Now I have it working on my Treo 600. Much better than that standard browser that comes with the Treo.
BTW, when you go to download JVM from Palm, if you choose the Treo 600 option, they'll say that you need to pay for it. Just choose the Treo 650, as that is free, and the file is probably the same, as it seems to work OK. - surfing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Proof and better steps:
http://www.nogoogle.textamerica.com/?r=5654729 - mtillman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Works great on my crackberry 7100. One of the many reasons I hate this device was it's terrible browser but not anymore. The browser renders most sites, get this, as expected! Nicely done.
- Bokista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, I had no idea this existed. I'm so happy to have a good browswer for my V557 finally. It's like a void in my life has been filled.
- zarlwilliam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1works with my A900. make sure your device is midp 2.0.
shout out to everyone at sprintusers! ;) - CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it works and seems to not be omtimized for the scroll wheel
- CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if you have a blackberry you must go to
mini.opera.com/bb they still have not released 2.0 for it i will see if the regular version works with my BB 7520 and will tell
so far for bb it is v 1.2 - crossix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1can do the same thing with google's personalized homepage
- stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1donte, it's just meant to replace existing WAP browsers. Take it for what it's worth.
- nilabhmukherjee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hi i am a newbie and using I'm trying to get this configured on my
Samsung sgh 620 and it keeps telling me "You do not have a working network connection. Please visit http://help.opera.com/mini/ with your desktop browser for instruactions.(error:3.0.10:80/)"
i am not able to resolve the problem please help me - jezterking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Newbie here.... I'm trying to get this configured on my blackberry 7105i and it keeps telling me "You do not have a working network connection. Please visit http://help.opera.com/mini/ with your desktop browser for instruactions.(error:3.0.10:80/)"
I couldn't find anything about it in the help menu. Has anyone run into this? Oh, and by the way, I do have t-mobile web and CAN check my gmail with my blackberry so I know I have a network connection.... Hmm... help? - bhtooefr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OK, you wanna know who it's competitors are?
Here you go: http://www.reqwireless.com/ (note that you CANNOT download WebViewer. There's a reason.)
and...
http://tlogic.de/home/products.php?p=pocketweb - bhtooefr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've heard reports that T-Mobile has a crippled WAP-only access plan that isn't compatible with Opera Mini.
If you've got the cheapest Internet access plan, then forget about using Opera Mini. :(
(Happy Sprint user... :)) -
