- cdawzrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7None of the comments on this article above me are worth ANYTHING. Seriously, folks.
Neat article though, I've used phpMyAdmin before but didn't know there were other apps that could be used alongside it. - winmac96, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why no MySQL related comments above?
I'm about to develop our test databases in MySQL 5 and I'm considering microOLAP apps to design the forms and runtime front-ends. I am also getting Navicat for the administration.
Is there a MySQL mojo here to share your expertise. I have been mostly Filemaker and SQL Server/Access devo mostly but I've dabbled with MySQL since version 3.
Thanks! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1BTW good article, if someone really want to hate mysql then I suggest try to learn oracle once..

I found your comment much more entertaining than the other MySQL bashers at least.
@Everyone Else
I use MySQL almost exclusively for web development projects. I think it is a great database when used appropriately.
Don't bash it because it doesn't suit your needs or because it is the cool thing to do. It works well for many people, otherwise it wouldn't be so widely spread. - winmac96, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@jonnydobad
The ones listed in the article are hobby-level open source tools for MySQL. I want rock-solid, robust tools to build the company dbs not my personal, weekend web db hobbies. For that I use phpMySQL, SQLyog, etc. etc. - Protonz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Another tool you might like is SQLyog. It is like phpmyadmin but runs as a standalone app on your computer. I find accessing & browsing data to be much more efficient with it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Nigger_Association_of_America - jonnydobad, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I use MySQL regularly. I have either seen or used most of the tools listed in the article and don't know why anyone that develops or administers MySQL databases wouldn't already have this list. If you are a MySQL developer you would think that you would do plenty of research and find the tools that meet your needs. Another good tool is UniversQuery, it works for a number of SQL databases and allows queries to be run without writing any code which is great for testing queries before they are coded into an application.
- ga7sh, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Wow anonymousLoser is a ***** retard.
- jonnydobad, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0AnonymousLoser,
If he is using MySQL 5 rather than Microsoft SQL why is he sucking Microsoft's *****? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2@golfing22 : Learn how to use the [reply] button.

- pingveno, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4Interesting. The last time I checked, both my MySQL client and server had no genitalia.
