- laststupidtry, on 08/11/2008, -0/+7You can get almost any TV show you want from: http://tvrss.net/shows/
Just click on the show name, right click on the "Search-based RSS Feed" link (near the top of the episode list), copy the URL, open Miro and then go to the menu: "Channels > Add Channel" and paste in the feed URL. You can rename the channel to match the show, and then you've got a real TiVo on your computer! - andrewcsfan, on 08/11/2008, -0/+3Is there any other channel suggestion and comment.
Use it for quite a few month, something the download speed is not stable, other than that, everything look OK. Another wonderful thing is normal video's quality something look like HD one (take long time to download) - jimlau, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1I also found it problematic on my Mac (never would start DLing torrents for some reason) but on Ubuntu 8.10 it's been great for me. I just wish it could tell the system not to start my screensaver while I'm watching something.
- nandasunu, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Miro rocks, I just wish they would use VLC on Mac and Linux, I find it uses way too much cpu with perian on Mac.
- TheTravelShow, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Thank you for sharing
- humanlever, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Just as an FYI, the DL speed is dependent on the host, not the client so that's not really Miro's fault.
- slugicide, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2I've been trying Miro since the first publicly available (then called) Democracy Player and it has always been a frustration, with some deal-killing bug or another. I tried it first when I used XP, then when I upgraded to Vista and then when I up-upgraded to Ubuntu. I just don't have any faith in the project.
- paroneayea, on 08/11/2008, -0/+0Miro does as much for illegal content as Firefox does. Actually, Miro is really great in this regard, because it's giving people access to tons of content that's perfectly legal and *independent of* the RIAA/MPAA.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -5/+0Something else for the RIAA to crack down on? Great idea... but worth the risk anymore?
