- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30I got laid with snail mail.
- Sh0cker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Even though I hate AOL, nothing will top its member directory. At least the one I knew 5 years ago, hell I think AOL helped more ugly people get laid than beer..
- Jimgress, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25yes because photos give one insight to somebody's personality
brilliant.
horray for ***** buddies. - crumbelievable, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Can someone say something that won't get buried? In other words, stop pretending you get laid.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Because they are all really the same creapy old man?
- fuggo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@megaman2005
It was one girl, she had no legs.
Stop bragging already. - techietim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Wow, we now get to Digg People
What should be under the bury menu?
Ugly
Slut - csGeekGirl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16i think that anyone that has to announce their percentage of hook ups isnt getting as lucky as he would like others to believe...
- EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"when all of a sudden the power goes out..."
Yeah, when people stop wanting to have sex, aka 'never'. - dgendreau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10NOT SPAM:
If you want to see a good, free (as in beer) dating site that has the same thing, check out:
www.okcupid.com
They call it "QuickMatch" there. If you and the other person both click "interested", you both get an email. simple... - cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The few pictures I saw looked *very* professional.
I'd rather use a site that isn't quite so... rigged. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Why do all the hot women profiles all have similar misspelled words?
- WinterSolstice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Wait - is slut a bury or a digg?
Or is it more like "Inaccurate"?
-WS - No1nose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@ jbarnett - I agree, it has to be fake or BS. The demo seems to only have very attractive models. Or, maybe my standards have gone done. Either way, I couldn't say "no" to any of those pics.
- nunofgs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hah, I like how this one girl says she is a "shy lady" yet her picture is her on a public street wearing only a bra
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The demo is just promotional BS, only a little obvious...
- AtomicCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I suppose this could be useful for extremely shallow good-looking people. Perhaps not for a life partner, but for a one night stand.
- bertram, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5how about just linking to the freakin' site instead of our daily dose of TechCrunch spam? jebus I'm sick of this spam *****.
- shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Nothing will ever equal beer for getting ugly people laid and you know it.
- MinaSulo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Yeah. So now give an argument against the website.
- DougTanner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pretty useless, it shows you any profile at all, even if they live on the other side of the country...
- bryxal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"ok turning to the net for sex haha whats next?"
if he was sarcastic it would be a great comment.
It be like
"using a search engine for porn.... what will they think up next" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"ok turning to the net for sex haha whats next"
Sex will always infiltrate every part of new technology and every aspect of our culture. The fact that the internet is a 'social' web of real people should not be a suprise that the most common basic need of humans will be exploited on it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7@megaman2005
The sports section is a couple of tabs down. - csGeekGirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ya, people just want to be able to reject someone before theyre rejected...
- TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I like it. Its not particularly usefull for finding out how compatable you are with someone, but when you ask for a number its not like you know you're soulmates. Thats what the dating is for.
- WoundedTownsmen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Novelty or otherwise, i'd say there's defiantly a basic social interest in the notion of being able to "approve" others, and being able to view those who approve of you. Sites like hotornot.com don't extend as far "would you date this person", or most importantly, allow you to actually see who says yes.
I'm not sure how effective it will pan out as a dating site, but I can certainly imagine it becoming quite popular. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Never heard of that site before. I just checked it out and it seems pretty cool with people from all over (i.e. not just the US). Unless it's a commonly known site that I'm the last to hear about, you should submit it. IMO it deserves to be dugg much more than this speed dating site thing.
- festivalman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2um wtf.. every single photo is of a near nude woman in some porno pose. This thing is horrible.
- m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Internet love knows no bounds
- pdxvanyel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They have the right idea, but like all too many of these sites, they are charging 10 times what it's worth. When a site comes up that actually matches you with people who stand a chance of being interested in you, and charges under $5/month for it, then I'll sign up.
- zlyoga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I checked it out. not really that good. There arn't enough people on it and the premise is not so unique
- csGeekGirl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"LOL ...why the ***** would I lie? I don't know any of you people. Give me a break. I love to *****...is that so bad?"
do u kiss ur mother with that mouth?! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah, this is nothing new. emode (now lovehappens.com) did this years ago.
- derosion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Found me a new hero. If only more were like you, csGeekGirl. No, I'm not trying to pick you up. Never have online and sincerely doubt I ever will. Just sick of watching stupid girls fall for obnoxious guys. They deserve that kick in the nuts.
- OverloadUT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's what I was going to say. Back when I used emode.com (now lovehappens.com) they had this exact same feature.
- JrGhoull, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3lol this thing sucks!! a ton of the people are just using fake photos...why would u do that? i mean i get being ugly or simply not liking yourself, but still, why are u signing up to something like this if your not even really gonna use it...bored maybe? i ant the greatest lookin guy in the world, but i'm alight, and i really dont have time to meet people at bars so thats why i'm using the various on line places like okcupid.com.....wait why the hell am i telling all this to u!?!?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2YES this is in my country i'm South African so I'm joining this site to get with some fine women haha sorry for the rest of you haha yay
- incu_vamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is like wouldyouhithis.com but much better looking
- derosion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Attention those who keep saying "oh this has been done by _____.com ages ago."
Look at Skype. What did it really have (when it sold for BILLIONS to eBay) that AOL, MSN, Y!, etc etc never? Name it. Nothing.
They *all* had voice chat. Skype merely emphasised it above all else.
Other dating sites *all* have rating and show-me-to-the-person-I-like-also features. YesNoMayB merely emphasises it above all else.
It's genious. And the first South African web site I'm proud to see. - DougTanner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah, I found the "advanced search" page, aaaaannndddd... there's ZERO Quebec girls signed up. Looks like it's some hot internet loving for me =D
- voodoom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its cool except theres no one there from the USA
- MrBlue999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All of these sites' got it wrong. There's nothing like traditional hookup via friends that are the most successful. Let your friends be your advocate. An intro through a friend is the best way. You gain cred and rapport immediately instead of some random stranger on the net. Check out www.hookupmachine.com. It's still in beta but features are looking interesting.
Disclaimer: Yes, a friend made the site. - phlux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1techcrunch.com should be a banned URL for any digg submission.
- MrBlue999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.hookupmachine.com
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm guessing this site just contains a bunch of stock model photos because it's Web 2.0 and doing the 'Beta' thing?
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have been with my girlfriend for 9 months.
We met on hotornot. I think it worked out though because we met up on the first day and had a normal date, rather than an online relationship. - solusdotipse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Go outside. People there too. And you don't even have to sign up!
- bbqribs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like okcupid. Met my fiancee there a few years ago.
problem is that all the ***** polyamorous people are really screwing up okcupid. I hate to tell these people that if you're married, you don't really qualify for the "singles" catagory on a DATING SITE even if you're in an "open relationship." There are other websites for that. - dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"South Africa-based dating site YesNoMayB nailed it." Like they _really_ need to find faster lays.
