- mikesimp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The rest of the Netherlands are higher resolution now, but look at this military airport which is blured out:

- neave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Google Maps is utterly useless unless I can see my house from above.
No really. It's the most important feature by far. - rockets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hi res eh? Show me the nudist beaches and I will believe....
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Looks like I was Wrong! You can now finally see all of Astoria Oregon and Cannon Beach!! /Plans Goonies filming locations trip 07
P.S. Tho those are the only locations In oregon I've noticed.. And it still says I live 5 houses up the street in some kids treehouse... - jkleinfeld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3looks to me like Jerusalem and the old city has a much better resolution
- mankyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3whoah, I can NO LONGER see my house... (or parents home, at is were.) I used to have great resolution of their home in Michigan. Now I get just a green wash that has no imagery available at the highest zoom:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ie=UTF8&z=17&ll=42.938266,-85.591253&spn=0.005773,0.013433&t=k&om=1 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Another reader just reported that the entire state of Montana is now in high-res including the Glacier National Park:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=kalispell,+mt&ie=UTF8&z=14&ll=48.591143,-113.661976&spn=0.036958,0.093641&t=k&om=1&iwloc=A
I can hardly wait to see this in 3D in Google Earth... - sych0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3yay, i can see my house in nh finally!
- Kittenality, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I found the updated Google Earth just about the time you did, Caldroun, and have been playing with it for the better part of an hour and a half now. I live in Alaska and noticed that most of the places I'm familiar with still have the same photos as the old maps; most are crystal clear - even close up. I haven't checked other places for newer maps yet.
But there are some new features I'm pleased with. It has a nicer navigating interface with a cleaner look. One feature I've been playing around with is Add Image Overlay. I go ATV'ing quite a bit and put my trails into my Garmin. These I transfer to various Topo map programs. I am able to create jpegs of these maps and can now bring these maps into Google Earth. Now I see my waypoints and trails overlaid on the Google Earth maps. Pretty neat! - Tijmen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The marine base in the center of Amsterdam (few kilometers east of the central station) has also been blurred out for a while.
Update or no update, my house is still a construction site for google :( - Tanpreet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mississauga, ON has been updated
- cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My house is finally built, but now Google is pointing to the wrong one!
- martalli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe so, but the images of Tuttle are great. Maybe we could even get a look at Jerry Taylor's house.
- Anonymously, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Much of south west and north west Israel is now in hi-res. Lots of gaps throughout the country.
- martalli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Staunton, Illinois is the same way. There has been a new clinic here for over a year, but these photos are probably 3-4 years old. At least they are much nicer than the blur of the towns further north.
- LRKirsch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hanford, CA has new images, but you have to zoom out a few notches. It's still an enormous improvement.
Clovis, CA is still at least a couple years old, judging by my parents' backyard. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, whats your definition of high res?
- MrEcho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+192571 STILL not updated, this housing track has been here for over a year.
and 92530 - shadowsurfr1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can actually see my house now, and my school's construction project is shown as completed. I've been waiting a while for this. Sweet.
- Deuterium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1BIAP still doesn't show any circus tents.
- fatmike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Portions of Florida, especially around Miami in the Coconut Grove area have definitely been updated.
- dustyshadow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lee County FL too. south west.
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oregon hasn't been updated at all. :-(
- Disodium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bradenton/Sarasota/Ellenton Florida updated but pics are at least 6-8 months old from various construction i know was done for awhile inclduing my sisters new house.
- dustyshadow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know of another spot in the Netherlands that has also been blurred. They blurred the surrounding area as well that isn't sensitive, probably to hide the part that is.
- jswanner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Parts of central Florida has been updated. Including the northern half of the UCF campus
- Doogie125, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like Hanford's updated photos might be from the Labor Day weekend. (My car isn't usually in the street.) The updates to this area are used for Google Earth as well.
- SimonDonkers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting, Army base Oirschot (Netherlands) also has been blurred out only Google forget the base is building new structures to the east of it which are fully visible.

- tinkafoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just in case anybody asks, there's jack ***** in Oklahoma. :(
- rnmrnmrnm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ok. time to check on my cropcircles and uncensored words I've written for this occasion in the country....
EDIT: hmm still no res. TWD has got to wait... - zixx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like near the Tripoint of Maine, New Hampshire and Quebec now has some letters
- LecherousVenom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sacramento, CA still has imagery that's at least four years old..... missing all kinds of development and freeway/onramps, etc.
- pixelmixer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has aparently been going on for a while now. I noticed newer looking satalite views that are zoomed out to see mountains and such. It looks much cleaner now. I think the first time I noticed this change was wednesday.
- Bleu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, my house in Lake Oswego (near Portland) seems to be updated.
- LRKirsch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In what city?
- zakool21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent!
Davis CA also has new images. Before, you couldn't even make out streets. Now I can see the tree in the front yard of my hosue.
Thanks for the heads-up!! - ajskhan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2no change internationally, india, etc.
- phlogiston99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Portland OR jumped a few years ahead. sounds like thay are 1 year old now (vs 6 b4)
- clickmyface, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just an FYI: My experience with the NEW yahoo maps is that they have more high res than Google does, even with Googles update. Check it out, I was happy to see my area.
- lobsang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1South Florida (Miramar, Pembroke Pines & Miami).
The pictures they put are about a year old, or more. - toxicredm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Rochester, NY has been updated. They actually show the new soccer stadium and the new Troup-Howell bridge under construction. Still waiting for the arches over the Troup-Howell bridge though. Looks like they are from about a year ago.
- bitbank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very strange - the images of South Florida have been updated, but still with old images. The "older" image was from about 3 years ago and now the "new" image is from 18 months ago. I can tell the age because my development is still under construction. In the newest image my house still doesn't have roof tiles, yet I moved in about 14 months ago.
- jbenson2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Several areas that I had placemarked have been downgraded substantially, so there is virtually no detail. Kettering, England is now a total blurr. I used to be able to identify the individual buildings. The same thing happened to the coast line along Malibu, California. Did the rich movie stars force a lower resolution?
But there are some new higher resolution versions in Munich, Germany.
WTFIGO???
. - ahirreddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As far as I can tell the Long Beach, CA and surrounding area has not been updated. The new houses built 2 years ago still have not been updated.
- YellowJKT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Woohoo! Pearson International Airport at high res goodness :))
