- skealoha86, on 09/04/2008, -5/+166I'd like to thank Kevin Federline for bringing this to my attention.
- FUR10N, on 09/04/2008, -8/+160this is why google released a browser! see how wonderful a little competition is? now google will work on making their javascript faster, and before you know we will have 2 insanely awesome browsers.
- omgsoemo, on 09/04/2008, -3/+130Firefox just did what Google wants it to do
- QsKGlobal, on 09/04/2008, -5/+106*Chrome Beta 2: Now with more Firefox*
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -24/+119Do you think Sarah Palin uses Google Chrome?
- refreshers, on 09/04/2008, -1/+95She should have browsed with more protection
- bratterscain, on 09/04/2008, -0/+80Digg is the Crysis of websites. - duckyinc
- Spanktacular, on 09/04/2008, -3/+70When one tab hangs, the whole browser hangs. Speed isn't everything...
- MilesyMiles, on 09/04/2008, -3/+69Sweet! now all I need to do is figure out what to do with the 0.447 of a millisecond that I've just sav.....
...aww crap. - Spade914, on 09/04/2008, -4/+68her daughter does
- Sheeplike, on 09/04/2008, -0/+60I think a lot of people are missing the point about what Google and Mozilla are doing here. I see all this as a good thing, now Google will compete to make theirs better and so will Mozilla which in turns helps me as a user. And it's open source.
More like "Sup now IE!? - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+52No ***** man.
I'm glad that Firefox is going faster as of lately since Digg is such a bloatwhore these days. - Br3ach, on 09/04/2008, -3/+51Ready...FIGHT!
- Soave, on 09/04/2008, -2/+50Awesome! I don't care who "wins" the browser war, and neither does Google, because really, everyone wins with Open Source.
Except for you, Microsoft. - SitPoMk, on 09/04/2008, -5/+48Made with Google's money ... I love such ironic situations in life
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+43In two weeks, FF, Opera and Webkit/KHTML will all be running an order of magnitude faster. IE will still be *****.
- 4321234, on 09/04/2008, -0/+35I see your $20 and raise you 4 internets.
- radiantarchon, on 09/04/2008, -1/+34it was actually already put in a while ago in the alpha versions of 3.1
- frozensnake, on 09/04/2008, -3/+33now all Google needs to do is release there own operating system. maybe even a video game console while there at it ... and a car.
- 4Prophecy, on 09/04/2008, -0/+30The Firefox team were working on it long before Chrome was announced. I don't what it has to do with competition if there wasn't any. :|
- KragTheDigger, on 09/04/2008, -14/+43I'd like to go on record say it now: Chrome vs Firefox is a Jihad we don't need.
- epadafunk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+28I think that's the point.
- pak314, on 09/04/2008, -4/+32Remove the stone of triumph; attach the stone of shame.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+28This is great news for Firefox, I hope they have more good features coming in the next release too.
- zeabu, on 09/04/2008, -7/+33Exactly: Killing MSIE. I start loving chrome, although I keep loyal to Firefox.
- MindTrigger, on 09/04/2008, -4/+29No kidding. I doubt most of the people posting in this thread have the slightest clue about all the ground Chrome is breaking in browser design. Please at least read this layman's guide to Chrome before you open your suck on this issue:

- mvent2, on 09/04/2008, -3/+28Yes. Tracemonkey work has been going on long before anyone knew about Chrome.
- zwaldowski, on 09/04/2008, -1/+25You are challenged by GOOGLE! Go! FIREFOX! GOOGLE sent out CHROME. What will FIREFOX do? The foe GOOGLE's CHROME used NEATLOOK! FIREFOX used SCRIPTSPEED! It's super effective!
- elliott9, on 09/04/2008, -8/+328=====D
sry, had to - SniperGX1, on 09/04/2008, -1/+25One thing at a time. Pwn at speed... check, Pwn at architecture... currently working on it.

V8 pwns Tracemonkey on several benchmarks. They are both beta and I'm sure they both have room for improvement/optimization. Ideally, since they are both opensource, they projects will borrow from each other and they'll both get faster. - adamorjames, on 09/04/2008, -0/+22They were already doing it before Chrome was released.
- whitebrow, on 09/04/2008, -1/+21I'd like to see her porn mode.
- S68x, on 09/04/2008, -1/+20Wow. Clean up your tray...
- elliott9, on 09/04/2008, -1/+19ill put $20 on FF to win, any takers?
- ElBeh, on 09/03/2008, -6/+24Great! I'd like to see Flock adopt one of these new JavaScript engines as well, since I'd like to start using it more on Digg.
- pandaking, on 09/04/2008, -6/+23It's news like this that makes me proud to be a Firefox fanboy...
- danomagnum, on 09/04/2008, -1/+18I can't wait for 3.1 to come out so I can finally read comments without bogging down.
- jonesy827, on 09/04/2008, -0/+17wtf are you talking about...
- Lochie, on 09/04/2008, -1/+18Loosers? Bravo, you just made your dumb post look even dumber.
- Kordras, on 09/04/2008, -3/+20Chrome probably wouldn't be anywhere near what it is without Firefox.
No respect, no respect at all. - Tophillious, on 09/04/2008, -5/+20Not surprised.
- lpcustom, on 09/04/2008, -1/+15Quick howto: Download the nightly build of firefox and enable javascript jit in about:config. I actually found this article before it made it to digg. I've tested this against benchmarks at dromaeo.com I had ran earlier today on Chrome, and trace monkey barely did as well as regular Firefox. I'm not on the original computer, however. I'm on a Mac Book Pro. Can anyone else get some test results? Just using it on Digg, it's pretty snappy but Chrome seemed a bit more responsive.
- Drizzit, on 09/04/2008, -3/+17Ya know it's funny. There are dozens of sex offenders who are listed and ruined for life for having sex at 18 with their 17 year old girlfriends. Yet this guy is praised for it.
If it was one of the other guys in that situation, I'd go back to court and demand to be removed or see the guy prosecuted. -
