At least with megaupload I only have to wait 45 sec and I get about 100 KB/s. That way I could download Borat at twice the speed.

- colinm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15While TrueCrypt is a possible solution, it's not really the best tool for the job - you have to go about making a file system of the appropriate size, formatting it, mounting it, etc.
If you just want to password protect a single file, you can use GnuPG http://www.gnupg.org/
How to encrypt:
gpg -c filename
[enter your password]
Then an encrypted version is created in the same directory with a .gpg extension.
How to decrypt:
gpg filename
Enter password

It was used very liberally in old texts (especially those originating from American colonial times) but has been pretty much phased out now. Kinda cool to see someone actually use it :)

Then you have access to thousands of full DVD movies, games, music and pr0n with no limits. Beats the living ***** out of rapid share when you combine usenet with a good nzb service.

I get usenet from my ISP. That does max out my connection =)
its just not as intuitive as RS is for sharing stuff between people. RS is hardly expensive for the amount of stuff you can shift off their servers when you have a fast connection. You're downloading from that site (i.e. the site is closed, only download window is opened) or uploading (i.e. the window is minimized), so the aesthetics don't really matter.

So we are to understand that either FTP really means FTP, or that FTP is spelled correctly. Umm . . . OK. - ozziegt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually I just signed up for xdrive and it's pretty cool. You can do everything through Java applets - nothing needs to be installed. You can also point it to any url and it will automatically save that to your xdrive.
