- ecape7, on 02/13/2008, -5/+100wow this release is the best one yet hopefully its not too long till they release the full thing
- Quicksilver4648, on 02/13/2008, -6/+74Even in beta Firefox is better then all other browsers.
- wmarcello, on 02/13/2008, -1/+54Quick blurb on it here with screenshots.

As a sidenote (and I'll probably get dugg down), I think the new theme is ugly as sin. - Lorddias, on 02/13/2008, -4/+49Stick to your IE mang. Firefox doesn't need you in the community.
- saisumimen, on 02/13/2008, -3/+45Go back to bed, Billy.
- ejacobi, on 02/13/2008, -6/+43Yea, 3.0b3 is really solid... I'm loving the new interface!
- luchid, on 02/13/2008, -1/+37Please refrain from posting on Digg, you're making all of us Mac users look bad. Firefox is a great piece of software that has pushed the web forwards in many aspects.
- mvent2, on 02/13/2008, -0/+31Just make sure not to complain about stability if you do this. Forcing extensions to work on a version of Firefox they were not designed for is generally not a good idea.
- djk21108, on 02/13/2008, -1/+30Great stuff. If you want all your extensions to work download Nightly Tester Tools.
Great new Navigation Toolbar. There's also a definite speed increase. Firefox is getting better and better. - ataylor32, on 02/13/2008, -1/+28http://xkcd.com/198/
- EricVKX, on 02/13/2008, -3/+29The new interface in the OS X version rocks.
- Fergy, on 02/13/2008, -2/+28Firefox has had favicons on the bookmarks toolbar since forever.
- praveenmarkandu, on 02/13/2008, -1/+24right click the nav toolbar. select customize. drag it. HTH
- luchid, on 02/13/2008, -2/+23That IS a stability problem.
- wmarcello, on 02/13/2008, -3/+24I just installed the portable version of beta 3. If the new interface is the same one I'm seeing, I think it's absolutely terrible.
- Darkhacker, on 02/13/2008, -1/+22If you were relying on the password manager to remember them for you rather than just the convenience of not typing them in each time, then you have bigger problems to worry about. I shudder to ask what your backup strategy is for important data should the hard drive crap out.
- bonavistask8er, on 02/13/2008, -2/+22Anyone notice that the 'Home' button is moved to the bookmark toolbar... i mean, that seems like a pretty simple thing, but i'm so used to it being right up there next to 'Stop' and 'New Tab'... i bothers me. You can't seem to drag it back up, anyone know how to address this?
- mattmcm, on 02/13/2008, -0/+19"This list covers some of the known problems with Firefox 3 Beta 3." Look carefully. It's a BETA. If this were the final version, you'd have a point.
- Sivvy, on 02/13/2008, -0/+17I actually ran some custom-made javascript performance tests and I'd say FF3.0b3's javascript engine is about 2.3x faster than FF2.0.0.12's. That means it's just about on par with Opera and Safari now! And that's not even counting the numerous memory holes they plugged and the much improved rendering speed. Apart from the lack of extension support, there's really no reason to wait until RC's start coming out.
- viniciusfontes, on 02/13/2008, -2/+19The new Mac theme is really nice! Too bad it is still too slow compared to Safari. Hope the devs fully optimize it before the release.
- Firehed, on 02/13/2008, -1/+17When Safari gets extension support, then maybe.
- renegadeafk, on 02/13/2008, -1/+17rofl
"No stability problem, only crashes" - Firehed, on 02/13/2008, -0/+14More secure
Better rendering of websites (adheres to standards)

Not created to lock you into a software vendor
etc. - davewashere, on 02/13/2008, -3/+16Obligatory generic Firefox memory leak complaint
- MrSpontaneous, on 02/13/2008, -0/+12That's Adobe's fault.
- scourage, on 02/13/2008, -1/+12The new icons in windows have been hit with the ugly stick...hopefully they will get a little attention before the final release.
- markthegoth, on 02/13/2008, -0/+11Finally might move away from safari and back to firefox, as never truly got on with the early firefox on mac, love it on windows however.
- beermad, on 02/13/2008, -2/+13No problem. Just restore them from your backups.
...You DID take backups, didn't you? - mhuggins, on 02/13/2008, -0/+11No, sorry. The release is for everyone BUT you.
- Remmy, on 02/13/2008, -0/+11I've been using it ala Minefield for several days now and it does something in Linux that I had yet to see. It updates, and not just your addons, the program itself does. It also fixes the annoying "Firefox is already running" when you go to open it without successfully closing a previous instance. It simply opens a new window now. Getting better all the time.
- andycr512, on 02/13/2008, -1/+11Wouldn't stop crashing long enough for them to test compatibility perhaps? :)
- luchid, on 02/13/2008, -1/+11You rely on a password manager to remember all your vital passwords? Jesus some people are clueless.
- noctu, on 02/13/2008, -1/+11 hello CapnCarnage, we are from the future and have come to warn you that windows ME will be an unstable OS we also regret to inform you they will release another much like it in the future called vista.
- championchap, on 02/13/2008, -2/+11Anon is not your personal army.
- aqzman, on 02/13/2008, -0/+9I'll probably try this out when I get home. It's great to see users have multipe browsers to choose from today, makes everyone else (Opera, Apple, Microsoft) have to step up their game. Maybe it's just me, but I think FireFox and Opera have really been forcing each other to improve their browsers, which in the end is great for Internet users.
- demodawid, on 02/13/2008, -1/+10Skins. Use them.
- nytejade, on 02/13/2008, -0/+9Faster than Safari yet, on OS X?
I think the OS X interface is an improvement, and yeah, Flash runs like crap on OS X, period - even in Safari. - peterkay, on 02/13/2008, -3/+12There are still a few major issues which are stopping me from the upgrade:
- Windows Live Mail will not work; users must use Hotmail Classic Mail (bug 396259)
- GMail (new version) conversation labels appear on their own row in the message list, and names don't show in the contacts manager (bug 415252)
- Yahoo! Mail (new version) is being updated, and may not work for all users right away. Until it does, users can use Yahoo! Classic Mail (bug 398381)
Thats pretty much everyones email hindered! - lordshank, on 02/13/2008, -1/+10http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html The part you actually need.
- vault, on 02/13/2008, -2/+10Proto theme looks pretty nice, too...I've had it open for the past couple hours and it's still under 140 mb of RAM...ff2 this would be way higher.
- praveenmarkandu, on 02/13/2008, -0/+8drag the home button from your bookmarks toolbar
- tobsterius, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7Anyone have issues with scrolling on Firefox 3 OS X? Smooth scrolling is turned off, but it feels really really odd. It behaves nothing like FF2 or Safari. Even with smooth scrolling turned on it feels... not right.
- Thomaschaaf, on 02/13/2008, -1/+8the new buttons look like they're not HQ (have the big buttons turned on) http://screencast.com/t/zWPUPEMn
- beermad, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7AdBlock Plus working fine for me with it. As it did for Beta 2 and Beta 1.
