- Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+80Do I really want to know how lame I am?
- crumbelievable, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35A useful upgrade to this plug-in would give you recommendations based on your Internet usage. For instance, "get some sunlight," or "stop masturbating and do some work."
- redfox2600, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33I don't have a problem, 10 hours a day on Digg is normal right?
- Mome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27According to this, I masturbate for 43 minutes a day.
- Phantom76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11But why does it take me to the page addict site to view my browsing habits? If all the information is stored locally, can they not show it in a new window or something?

- Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10As long as you don't break the hour barrier, you're ok.
- MaxTheMan36, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8So... It's like your own personal spyware... interesting.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The fact that I am identifying so closely with these comments scares me almost as much as the fact that it's 4 am and I have work in the morning.
- Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I have a feeling I'll end up feeling depressed after a week of using this...
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12similarly, do I want to know how much of my soul Digg has consumed
- blindbug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I already see a problem with the way this calculates time 'wasted'. It bases the amount of time wasted at any particular site by what your browser has open, EVEN IF said browser is minimized/inactive. This add-on would be much nicer if it only tabulated the time spent on any particular site when both the site is loaded AND the browser window that has that site loaded is active. As well, the page statistics should be loaded locally, not on their servers. It's a nice start but for now I'm uninstalling it.
- crumbelievable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Oh, I thought of another one: "stop commenting on every digg story to hit frontpage." I think I'd get that one a lot.
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Feature request:
PageAddict for your wife's/girlfriend's mobile phone (that you're paying for). - yflo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5browser statistics are sent to the pageaddict site ... It feels commercial purpose.
The same firefox extension in local will be a lot better.
I have uninstalled it. - Suplyndmnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's called Detailed Billing. Logs all numbers in and out and amount of time.
- unamas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i'm not addicted... i can quit whenever i want
- qster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The timer on World of Warcraft made me feel bad enough
- brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Because then they couldn't copy your browsing habits onto their own databases to sell to a third party at a later date.
- jus1haz2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4O man digg would be like 4 hours(alot of 30min segments during the day) a day... wtf is wrong with me lol
- scoobydiesel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Well....This is very nice....i hope 10 hours is normal 0_0
- Providence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Heh, at least it allows you to restrict the amount of time you spend on a page. If I set a restriction for Digg, maybe I'll get more done.
- blueblood, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7prof that diggs popularity is proportionate to the community's lameness
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3According to the blurb - http://pageaddict.com/questions.html , the stats are not sent to the pageaddict site - just displayed there but stored locally. To quote, "PageAddict is designed such that external websites cannot access this information and does not use cookies". Still makes me a bit nervous but the code seems OK.
- brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't call it personal, as you do send your data to PageAddict.com.
- brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"PageAddict is designed such that external websites cannot access this information and does not use cookies"
That just means other websites can't access your information from your browser (which I am skeptical of). But where does it say other websites can't purchase your information? - methodshop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2PageAddict results are often surprising. Will you use the data to help make positive changes in your lifestyle?
- senfo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Where is digg?
- okokitsme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And so has your boss!
- dAbReAkA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i bet digg.com will come on top of my list.. sometimes it takes me an hour to go through all the news and comments here.. :)
- grow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder if I spend more time looking at porn or digg... I can get an answer finally!
- marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this will never fly: addiction and denial (i.e. concealing the truth (i.e. the thousands of hours per day someone spends on YouTube because I don't have a TV):) go hand in hand.
- rip747, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2great,
so now my wife has proof of how much of a pervert I am. - fugazi48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like the "pageaddict". Now I will know what I should have for bookmarks on my bookmark toolbar in firefox. I just see what sites Im at the most ^_^. I can already tell my #1 site is newegg.com, not that there is anything wrong with that.
- Lane5slacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wouldn't call my time on that "adult entertainment" site wasted... per se
- Zodix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Xfire?
- 4815162342, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think it's the Internet that people are addicted to, not the browser.
- X1NN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alright, alright! I admit it, I have a problem. Now get off! Do we need to go into all the gory details of my problem. "He spent how many hours on Digg? What a freak."
- greendigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Something to force me to look at the reality....which is....that Internet is addictive...especially with web2.0 apps. The more you involve yourself with something...more addictive it becomes!
- Ghostlove, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It frightens me how much time I spend on Google Reader alone...
- Bjornstrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This works amazingly well. I'm going to start using this now. I just hope I can finish writing this comment cause i've restricted my digging to only 30 minutes a day!
- mpanahi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wonder if there is something like this for windows to calculate how much time I spend playing games.
- mpanahi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, it would be a tool to sum up running times of windows processes in general.
- Kevinok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So, it's spyware for you.
- ThanaTox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how does this works? does it track mouse movement and keystrokes on a particular site, or does it only monitor the amount of time a page is open? if it's the later, it won't be very useful to me, as i often keep tabs, with my most visited sites, open. I then reload them once in a while. Could someone please enlighten me on that point!?
- sideshowRAHEEM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i don't need Firefox to tell me i look at a lot of internet porn
- lambasted, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0seriously, no need for the misses to be stumbling upon the fact that I spent 6 hours at schoolboys.com/juicebox
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3"Do I really want to know how lame I am?"
[denial] But I leave tabs open for days and my computer is always on ... [/denial] - ronnknee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The statistics for Digg will be interesting after a few weeks.
- Locke40, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4dear diary,
firefox makes me feel worthless! he keeps telling me that i spend WAY too much time on the internet, but i feel that in doing so, i learn so much! everyone always told me it is important to learn, so i am learning! why am i using exclamations at the end of every sentence!
love,
Locke40! -
