- Netmindstorm, on 02/13/2008, -1/+6you can also *try* to make extensions that only run in 2.x run in FF3beta by adjusting their max version number. Here you need to be a bit more daring as it is not just an about:config tweak. You need to open and modify the extension's install.rdf file and change the max version to 3.0.*
It will look something like this: ...em:maxVersion="3.0.*"
This does not guarantee that the extension will work in 3.x, it just allows FF to think that the extension may work in 3.x.
Make modifications at your own risk.
You can also try this: http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly - noahsawyer, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4This helps as well: http://www.tectonic.co.za/?p=2331

I will maybe switch from flock to FF3 - tobikow, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop, and i didn't know it came with Firefox 3.0 as the default, but i just sort of rolled with it. Its really good, the only setback I can see is extension compatibility(no bugs, etc), and this sort of solves the temporary problem. Thanks noahsawyer and netmindstorm, I found those tips helpful as well.
