- EnoshKhan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Already got my group event registered. Now to just get people to come....
- Spr0k3t, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13It would be awesome to have a FOSS group in the area... perhaps it's time to start one.
- quikboy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12I don't get it. Freedom from what? What's stopping us or holding us? Can someone explain?
- effiejayx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11It's all about awareness and It's all about people...
I like it...
very inspiring :D
Saludos Hermana - lickmyback, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Great initiative...I just hope that people don't inadvertently give FOSS a bad name by acting like a bunch of restless hippies. Keep it professional(ish).
- einfeldt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8hi, I'm in San Francisco. If anyone here wants to ping me about Software Freedom day, please feel free to do so at einfeldt at digitaltippingpoint dot com. Dr. Verma, I am pinging you and Pia on a joint email. I am supporting a public middle school with FOSS, and I would be glad to integrate Software Freedom day into school activities, if we can swing that.

- cricoste90, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Good luck...
- moquist, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9Happy Software Freedom Day!
- einfeldt, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6If you have a Microsoft Windows computer, you don't own your computer's software, you are just renting the software from Microsoft. With Linux and Free Open Source Software, you control your software and your data. Microsoft also controls your data formats if you use Microsoft products.
- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4So from my understanding, this is an event to help people understand the meaning of open source software? Sounds pretty cool.
- Krechet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Worcester, MA. Anyone interested in doing this? Reply and I'll let you know how to get in touch with me.
- Phlosten, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5In my experience the ones promoting SFD and Open Source Software in general are far more professional and educated than those pushing that 'other OS'.
- Drevor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Freedom, freedom, freedom, oy!
Freedom, freedom, freedom, oy!
Freedom! - popformula, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i'll have just started my year aroad in china on software freedom day. will i deported for being politically subversive if i celebrate it? hmmm...
- nickgarvey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Deep stuff right there.
- Hamsterpotpies, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Thanks for the free shirts! 25 shirts in my size coming my way for free!!! Hope the school down the block doesn't mind...
- IceZZ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1True freedom is about public domain software, not all these restrictive FOSS licenses. Public domain is the only truly free method of distribution (ie. no restrictions at all). There is some irony in Free Software Day being about restrictive use licenses.
- puppetj, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1i just want the shirt! :(
- MrKC, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2No. The days of positive Linux stories and comments is gone. This link is why.

- SteveTheSultan, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Didnt digg just sign with Microsoft for all their advertising? Screw lunix
- manbearpigm16, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2Don't neo-nazis do something similar to this?
- SteveTheSultan, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Free software: Who do I call for support. Microsoft I guess. ***** free software. Id rather pay and have it work.

- Xansas, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2If they take to the streets, whichever city they choose will be overrun by the combined stenches of geeky teenagers and regret.
- jorgepblank, on 10/10/2007, -9/+1I love the Windows vs Linux ads from Microsoft on Linux.com :')
- cricoste90, on 10/10/2007, -13/+4You might as well call it a porn watchers' convention.
But yeah Happy Software Freedom Day! (Did I just say that?!)
