- SCuM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tried Mambo and as this Joomla is only a 17 day old fork of mambo I can't see much point in trying it, but I may. My guess is that e107 is superior as it is to Mambo.
- rdjurovich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, I can't believe that you need to use IE to run the WYSIWYG editor.
(Read here: http://help.joomla.org/content/view/34/132/)
If they upgraded HTMLArea (or switched to the new project, now known as Xinha), they would realise it works in a lot more browsers than IE.
I really like the polished black look that they're using, so that's a least one thing better than Mambo :D - esourcemag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder what is up with that whole Mabo/Joomla thing... I am part of a development using Mambo and I now wonder if I should stitch or not (especially if my user base grows to around 1000 or more)
Hmmmmm... - ahdustin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I couldnt finda demo of it on there site.
I uploaded and installed it on my server to play around.
You can see what Joomla looks like in action on it: http://dbachrach.com/Joomla/ - treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't normally type/speak like that, it's just that it has been really frustrating and no one seems to care... see this post and the idiot that replied: http://revision3.com/forums/shows/diggnation/0234
- dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I run several Mambo sites myself. I don't see any real reason for switching, and it seems a bit hasty to convert over just because some of the core developers forked the project.
I think I will wait and see how each individual project pans out. - GS13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Im running a mambo site, I got to try this.
- CaptSnuffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what an awful name...
- billizm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mambo looks great. Can't wait to try out Joomla
- Kindred420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0looks pretty nice,i think ill stick with mambo and MT for now
- scarolan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, I would like this feature too! Can you do a manual set up to get it working?
- mirunit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just installed Joomla! on my server site.

This is my new favorite CMS - kureselisinma, on 12/24/2007, -0/+0http://www.kuresel-isinma.org http://www.m-s-n.org http://www.globalwarmingvideos.org http://www.biddinglinkdirectory.net
- htsolutions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used mambo for our web site and was in the process of updating out template and then Joomla came out. I have installed it and have been working to get our new template set up over on http://www.homtechsol.com/joomla. The reason that I am going with Joomla is that they believe in Open Source. They have a lot of supports over at http://www.opensourcematters.org/. You will also notice that a lot of Mambo Developers are moving in Joomla direction. I liked Mambo but I want to follow the original developers who believe in total Open Source.
- Jubalint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is purely a re-branded mambo. It says on the website only changes is rebranding and a few security fixes. Even the template is exactly the same, just changed logos.
- rapidisimo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The core developers started their own thing cause Mambo created a "Mambo Foundation" with out the concent of the team.
So there for it wasnt really a community thing.
blah blah blah
I'm cheering for Joomla! I hope they make it better than mambo! - sixsense, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you may want to submit the source code to the source code search engine called codase (www.codase.com), they can search project specific source code.
- Tech_Junkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How about being able to blog from digg into Joomla, NOW that would be very cool!
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's nice but good templates are REALLY hard to find. :(
- jn1167, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0treelovinhippie,
Maybe it doesnt like the way you speak? - 0zzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0My site uses Mambo. Wonder how hard it is to upgrade.
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1treelovinhippie,
go cry in the corner - treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Well I was going to post this story 2 ***** DAYS AGO!!
But for some ***** reason, I can't post a story because it says I have mistyped the security word... every single time.
I posted a thread in the diggnation forums, only to have this dumbass reply.
Anyone know WTF is wrong with posting a ***** story on digg?
