- toya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i can't seem to change my search engine by pressing ctrl + down

digg++ - johnsee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What are you suggesting they use dankant?
- micral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0using the keyboard GREATLY reduces the time you have to spend for a lot of common tasks, moving your hand over to the mouse doesn't seem to take that long but consider it an overhead when you need to move back and from between the keyboard and the mouse, and it's annoying too.rnthe downside is that you have to accustom yourself to all these keys b4 you can use them efficiently and thats the problem with most ppl who consider using the mouse a better option, just too lazy to try . it might be true in some cases when you do not use the application frequently, then it's not worth the time and effort to learn how to use it efficiently. but a web browser shouldnt fall into this category for most of us.rnanyway, good article.rn+digg
- ultraelite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0not a hack at all nothing this guy does is a hack couldn't he just call it like tip or tricks
- barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0goes great with wmii http://wmii.de
- sersdf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good article. although, whereas in the past i did most of my surfing from the keyboard, ever since mouse gestures i do almost everything with my mouse
- theuber1337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bah anyone to lazy to move their hand about 13 inches from the keys is pathetic, its not much faster with just keyboard anyway unless you're a master of shortcuts.
- Ignathius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ahh yes. the age of the 21st century netizens. or: those born after DOS.
back in my day, we were lucky to use norton commander. and we liked it!
lol - anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The epitomy of laziness.
- nebbyfoshebby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kinda like keyboardless surfing.. but.. its all cool +digg
- Wolfboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not a matter of laziness. If you touch-type, having to move your hand off the keyboard to work the mouse seriously slows you down and is really annoying, too.
- kinkysexradio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool

So "CMD" key is a MAC thing. "CTRL" key is a Windows thing. Nice of someone to point that out. - ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So im a n00b just found out about ctrl-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
- schlagzeuger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there's also the mouseless browsing extension. TRUE keyboard-only browsing, not just shortcuts. It saves me from really ever using the mouse
- notdang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0toya: make search bar active by pressing ctrl/cmd+K , then change the search engine
- jeolmeun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If there is a way to tab through visible links only, how? Is there a plug-in for this? Also, keyboard find text/link visible text and links only.
- barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0making wmii http://wmii.de better everyday
- Rggoalie3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, most of these commands get in my way more than help. I can't stand it when , every once in a while, I'm typing out an e-mail or forums post and hit the backspace key and then.... wait... no... Darn it! Time to re-type...
- exoendo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wasn't this JUST on the homepage?
- barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kids dont work 12 hour shifts, you may just post the same thing twice....
- muhgcee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0F6 for the location bar...much faster.
- MrMysterious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I find that mouse gestures is faster.
- dep01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0two must-have extensions are Next Please and Hit a Hint.
- jwest84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The search works fine until you reach a site based on flash.

Is this all Firefox has?
Opera has spatial navigation, and has always been a keyboard browser (or mouse browser, or whatever you like). When will Firefox catch up? ;) - rain9441, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Please, more depth. If its gonna catch my attention maybe the writer could have gone briefly over how to 'navigate' the page to active links/forms? The tips are a decent start but after knowing that, I still cannot navigate every page without a mouse. Simple case: try commenting on this digg story without using your mouse. It's quite an endevour (Clicking on the form is not allowed).
- tortan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this isnt a hack, its just shortcuts. that i already know.
kthnx. - spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who the hell doesn't know this *****?
- dougmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YAWN.... I am sick of the Opera/Firefox/IE debate.....
- fiberspy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Decent article...digg
- jrsims, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone know workable shortcuts for selecting links with the keyboard?
The tab key just isn't doing it for me. - redux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my old experiment "controlling firefox with a joypad" seems quite apropos here... http://www.lifehacker.com/software/feature/hack-attack-mouseless-firefox-139495.php
- hcl40u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Opera > FF in keyboard support. No need extra extension to just change the keys.
- 5m0k3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a nice compilation. Keep up the good work. For those of you who prefer to use your mouse for everything, Super Drag and Go is a must-have extension for keyboardless browsing.
http:/techblaster.blogspot.com - haba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll remember this if I ever lose my arms
- Bluezdood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The whole point of the mouse was to have a more intuitive interface. Here we have someone who says, "Screw that! I wants me an Apple IIe keyboard for Firefox!" (I'd put that in 1337 speak but I'm too friggin tired right now.) In any case, how is this not a step back? While we're at it, let's get rid of those pesky flash drives and bring back 5 1/4 inch floppies. Yeah, that would be so 1337.
Rggoalie3, I know exactly what you mean! - alex007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Well, well. These shortcuts have been around for a while... not anything new. People have been criticizing slashdot... I guess digg is no better. I guess I can write a digg-bot to submit articles. LOL
