- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2they got a list of what else you can search for here:
http://www.google.com/help/features.html - mahke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a shame the general user won't know about these features without sniffing around. If Google wants to help everyone find whatever they need, at least tell them they CAN do it!
- MrPaulAR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's nice and all but still nothing close to http://www.kayak.com
- SQFreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It doesn't recognize GSO yet. How unfortunate.
- tlfillingim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no Jackson, MS (JAN) or Pensacola, FL (PNS), either.
- gambl0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no ALB? Why are only certain airports recognised when all they are doing is passing the airport name and dates to the ticket site?
- thundercleese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yahoo! has already had this for some time: http://farechase.yahoo.com/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good point. Seems like this is just another place to advertise. Other travel search engines do it better though than Google like www.sidestep.com, www.mobissimo.com, and www.farechase.com. I wouldn't put Kayak in the same league. They don't do a real-time query so they usually just send you to the front page and you have to re-create the search all over again. Crappy user experience. But the others are worth a try.
- ridium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google should just buy Kayak. Otherwise, they're just going to copy them anyway.
Kayak is really the best site I've seen for finding flights and hotels (haven't tried looking for a car on Kayak yet). Best part is, you don't have to register and you don't buy the ticket through them, obligate yourself to buy before seeing a price, or give your info to yet-another company.
(OT: Why doesn't the Digg spellchecker have Google in its dictionary?) - squeeze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0seems to be only american...i tried YYZ (toronto pearson) to VIE (vienna airport) no go.
- ebenthurston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow kayak is the coolest thing i've seen in a while. thanks for linking. i'm going to undigg this out of respect to kayak.
- primehifi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lhr (london heathrow) isn't there either. might be a us only thing for now?
- twistx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Umm.. old? Google has done for almost a year now. Apparently someone didnt get the memo.

- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is why I think google is so cool... they actually link to an MSN company, expedia. Something I think MS would be hesitant to doing.
- 40bslove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool another google feature
- eric_n_dfw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0twistx, they have not done this for a year - that blog refers to flight information (the status of flight), not availability.
This could be a huge deal for people in the travel industry, at least for those partnering with Google, as it could drive sales to those partner's web sites. - edmicman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoa, another nod for kayak, I didn't know about that place! Where's the kayak digg?
- saggygrandma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0IN OTHER NEWS, Microsoft are developing a site that calculates available flights between terminals, where they got this unique idea from, were they got this idea from..? well i guess we will have to put it down to their genius..
Steve Balmer is reported as saying "The Idea of this new flight search feature spawned from our same creative team behind the MSN Virtual Earth project and only hope this matches their briliance"
Steve also is reported to mutter to one of his engineers later "Google isn't coming out with a search service for repairing chairs anytime soon are they... cause it would be great if we could develop a similar product.. if they ever were and all.." - togasan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The interesting question one should ask is, how much did they pay to get google to search them? :)
http://blog.mobissimo.com/archives/38-Google-Introduces-The-Booking-Buddy-and-TravelZoo-Killer.html - tnoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It can't be too many major airports that are listed because BWI to LAS didn't bring up any results. (Baltimore/Washington International to Las Vegas for those who didn't know.
- theakduke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It will be cool when they have all cities available. Right now only major cities like LAX and NYC are listed. I am more interested in the ANC and FAI to anywhere flights.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0How can I, as a terrorist, use this information to benefit me?

What is Digg?
