- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57Google's probably jealous because this would have made a great April Fool's Day joke next year!
- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -1/+50"Q: What if I use this along with an ad blocker?
A: You figure it out, Einstein. You'll get nothing. Not a goddamned thing. A white page with nothing on it. Zilch. Nada. Nothingness. Only morons use an ad blocker."
xD - hotsoda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Umm.. Why WOULDN'T you?
- justinmorris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21What if I click on a page that has no ads?
A Web site with no ads? What do you think this is, 1991? The chances of that happening are very small. In such a case, we will insert some randomly selected Google AdSense ads so you'll have something to read.
Great stuff! - MightyGiant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Thanks for the "humorous" tag. I probably would have taken it seriously if it weren't for your help.
- heresy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I was looking for a download link. :(
- Daisuke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Hahah, the white paper was a nice touch. :P
http://j-walk.com/other/googlecb/files/whitepaper.pdf - Lionhart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17*Google reserves the right to redirect non-AdSense clicks to Google AdSense advertisers.
- TiMMY8765, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17The preferences are great
[ ] Block all Content

[X] Block all content except Google and porn - Kev1000000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I was honestly fooled until I looked up at the address bar... Nicely done.
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Google is committed to collecting every bit of data that it possibly can, and storing it forever. You just never know when it might be useful. We recognize that privacy is an important issue, but we've gotten so pervasive that we don't even need to be concerned about it. It's not like you're going to stop using Google, right? Therefore, we didn't even think about your privacy when we designed and built Google Content Blocker -- not for a single second. But we had to write this stupid privacy policy page anyway, just because everyone else does it. It's not like anyone will ever read it.
If you want privacy, go into the bathroom and lock the door. You ain't gonna get in on the Web, so don't kid yourself. We pretty much know everything there is to know about you -- and it's pretty boring. Get a life, dude. - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Is there a server-side version? There are so many sites I can think of that should be running this.
- ihate2regist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10i use this with adblock, makes the internet much better
- jessethouin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Yes! Very well done. Wife wants to know what's so funny. Should I spoil it for her? I think not!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8new GOOGLE content blocker beta2 is out, not only does it effectively block all websites content but it zooms the ads to fill the blank area left behind by the blocked content!
- p4r0l3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Where can I get the download??
This would be perfect for slashdot..... - Lazyboy0172, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6google should do it for april fools day but make it an actual thing.. it would really show the humor they have if they spent actual time working on a complete joke like that, similar to the google moon pictures. very very well done, i wish it had actualy been google though, as good as it was they could only make it better
- apocelo42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If you could download it think of all the chaos you could cause by installing it on every computer in your school.
- Higgins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"How come we have this thing being digged but knobody {sic} bothered to digg the Google Browser Sync?"
Because the Browser Sync didn't make me spit rum and coke all over my monitor in a fit of uncontrolled laugher. - TechnoGuyRob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Google doesn't have lawyers. They hire Chuck Norris.
- DesireCampbell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5" I'm an advertiser. How can I get more people to use this valuable tool? "
Brilliant! - spitfire6006006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3except that the site will probably be mirrored about 30 times by then
- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Doubletake on the domain.
- justinmorris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I was too, just to test it as a FF extensions maybe...?
- rdotson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Now that the web page has made it to Digg, Google lawyers probably know about it. I'll bet the site is down within 24 hours.
Google has a sense of humor, but there are several things on the spoof site I can think of that Google might object to. - bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I laughed at this, laughed some more, caught my breath and continued to laugh. I will laugh even more if Google announces that they have acquired the company that released "Google Content Blocker" as their April Fools joke. Quote from Google's PR dept. "When we saw the service this software offered to customers, we did not hesitate in making an offer on the company. We see this as a move directed toward the best interests of all people who make Google a part of their daily lives."
- Suplyndmnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"What if I use this along with an ad blocker?

- TravisS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2oh, I thought this was really something by google until I looked at the URL, Google does crazy stuff like this sometimes.
- Zareste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0rofl, everyone save the page to your computer before Google sues. "We are merely trying to prevent confusion and protect our intellectual property etc etc"
- j4s0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hahaha! Funny!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This is hilarious.. a look into Google's dreams.
