- penneyisok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44For some reason i was thinking laptops when I read the title..
- walugi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Absolutely poor outcome when porn is searched. Disappointing. Needs to be fixed by google ASAP. Where are my .ru websites with-many-word-like-this-in-the-title.ru?
- NerveBand, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14So was I. Oh well, gotta wait another year before Paris Hilton's laptop is attacked.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Have you ever heard of a notebook in real life? Yeah, about the same thing.
- H2SO4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7or Email password

I use it as a location independent bookmark and scratch pad service. Any piece of info I might need when i may be away from my work desk or my home desk, I put in there. Then, as long as wherever I am has Internet access and a computer, I can get access to it. Bookmarks, code snippets, lists, directions, you name it.
- jkr06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Firefox + Google Notebook extension = Bliss

Social Security Numbers and maiden names easily found - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I guess I don't get what the google notebook is for.
- scagnetti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It was fantastic for keeping track of things I wanted to pick up as gifts for Christmas. Especially cool was FF integration where I could highlight and right-click on a product's name and then send it with a link automatically to my Notebook.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It seems more like a blog search, because when I type in "da vinci" his journal is nowhere to be found
- grimman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No porn? :(
- nemrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here is the Firefox Extension for Google Notebook - http://www.google.com/notebook/download .
The IE version can be found here - http://www.google.com/notebook/download/ie .
Kinda streamlines the Google Notebook experience.
Also all of the email accounts and password listed on the page H2S04 pointed to don't work. Who knows what they were there for. - jon1012, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2FYI, you can only search on notebooks made "public" by google notebook users :)

Interesting.... - H2SO4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OMG some people just haven't listened about identity theft....Darwin is proud ;>
- Tanath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It only searches the public ones. Do you really think they'd let everyone search private notebooks? They wouldn't be private then, would they?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Come onnnn tittieee!
- scagnetti, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2/H2S04
You mean passwords...plural....holy crap - vrillusions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I prefer to keep my social security numbers and passwords on post it notes under my keyboard
- vrillusions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah that's the best part. By default notebooks are private. You then have to click on sharing options and say you want to share it. I haven't looked at it too much, though. I have enough random places I keep notes
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ugggggggh! Now I have to take my porn off and put it back on my home computer.
- scagnetti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a relief. And it appears private is the default because I don't remember flagging mine as such and can't find it through the public search.

Meta.... - rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's been removed but the email passwords page now has something else equally disturbing
- RBotros, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They only have 912 public entries? http://www.google.com/notebook/search?q=%22*+*%22&start=910
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can keep stuff 'private', and it wont show up... who are these dumb asses that use stuff without reading about privacy??
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1me too. but check this out:
(the biggest returns on search engines are the words 'god' and 'sex'. here's the first result for 'sex')

The search function on Notebook has been there since September... Poor Google Notebook, people have forgotten about you. Sniff, sniff. - oksure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Need a reason to learn and appreciate what "publicly viewable" means when you open up your notebook page? Here it is.
- meredith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bigger fields? Just guessing.
- LibraryGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is this different from Del.icio.us ?
- djchuang, on 07/26/2008, -0/+0I do love Google Notebook! What I'm trying to figure out is how to get my public notebooks to be indexed and searchable by the public
- Schda, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'd think for their GameFAQs accounts.
*edited to add* I think the GameFAQs thing was above, the link below the passwords make them look like myspace passwords. - karnautrahl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I like it. Just don't use it for very private stuff, and anyone who puts their ID/bank type details on the web in any service wants their heads looking at. Great for links, reminders, all sorts. Or maybe it's just me liking more ways to chuck my crap on the net! Probably the latter.
- binderskagnaes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0lol, all you guys think about is porn, when this opens up an entirely new window in searching. The ability to instantly search for things without having to wait for the Google Bot to index it which could take ages depending on the site's popularity!
- uslacker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Remember how everyone got upset with AOL when they released the results of people's searches because they could be mined and actually identify people? Why would this be any better than that? Seems like a real bad idea. Need a reason NOT to use Google's on-line office tools. Here it is.
- nemrel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0The first one worked in MySpace - Boy is it boring at work!
email=riverbed2@msn.com
password=dk1111 - nemrel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Very good point Schda! Didn't think of services that use full emails as logins.
- Farhan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0maybe somebody already logged in and changed them :P
- thewalkrecords, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4First time I hear of Google Notebook. I'm gonna check it out.
- anuragiit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Oh well!
I don't consider it a good idea to poke into other's notebooks... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0what is it looks like wiki on people
- affanjam, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3This is a few month old now..and a dupe.
