- DeVS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "Article" that the blog links to is over a year old. This is fake.
- SuperRob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Again ... Google already HAS an instant messaging program. http://www.hello.com
- dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i doubt this is real. The client looks like crap. Google does not release things unless they know it beats everything else by far.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jabber is an existing open-source chat client: http://www.jabber.org/software/clients.shtml
- GTPBearSuit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think I read an article where this was a "What Google should do next" kind of thing. Forget where, though. They mentioned Google should buy Jabber, and whipped up a screenshot that either is or looks very much like that one.
- mdweezer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I could whip up a little GUI like that in XCode too.
- the_mole1314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ah, how cool it would be if this was true. I still prefer iChat, so they better have some kick ass features in this app.
- rayskin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That article also has some of the worst grammar and spelling I've ever read.
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Google: Taking over the internet one step at a time."
- Régis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This really looks like a fake to me. The screenshot can be made in a couple of hours. And the quoted articles are one year old. Google bought Picasa and hello since then.
- mlauzon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wonder when GTIM will be out, hell I'd be willing to test the alpha, etc...!
On right now:
mlauzon@gmail.com - dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0agreed. i wouldn't be able to use that program without wanting it closed for more then 5min. Too plain.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HAHHAHA UGLY!!. If its real, they still have a long way to go.
- Dingle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google is so tech trendy with everyone. Its gonna be too big before we know it.
- 21.0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0damn straight, they finally support macintosh on something!
- techElement, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Although the screenshot is probably fake, I still think that Google will come out with their own instant messenger.
- whiteacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It looks alot like trillian, if you ask me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this looks retarded!
- linuxbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0'Tis the truth. Hell Apple doesn't even write software for the mac and they make the dame thing. :p
- streetbeav3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i could have made that with paint in a couple of minutes...
- aptiva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is this supposed to be a joke?....
- addisonj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well... I have used hello and though it is great for sharing photos, its not as full featured in other areas like MSN or yahoo, so my guess would be an update to hello ( and come on, what a good name for a messenger program) that includes a more robust friend finding/networking abilities, and knowing google will problaby intergrate the blogger, gmail, and search services
- dhoefler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ha... reminds me of an iPod theme.
Boring. :-) - Darkspyder86, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is Google the new Microsoft
- PhAdE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Again ... Google already HAS an instant messaging program. http://www.hello.com

SuperRob is right, google's IM client is called Hello, it's been out for a long time. It has wicked picasa integration too, so you can send images with it really easily. - catoutfit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0any ***** could mock this up in realbasic in like 10 mins, also kevinneill made a good point about mac, but i do think if they made an IM client it would be ported to mac...
- reqage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Think they will save every little piece of text that pass through that application like they do with gmail?
- kevinneill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0It's fake Google doesn't write software for Mac's.
