- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am looking forward to the Google calendar, but I'm also going to see what Yahoo does. Yahoo's new mail looks great and their new maps page looks even better than Google's. All this competition is working out great for us "end users". Let's see what happens...
- jla1987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good. I've abandoned all of Yahoo's stuff bascially. Glad to see Google's putting a calendar out there now.
- johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hmm...

Angeloe: Well, credible sources *rumor* that gCal will be *announced* today.
Let's hope. - Andy3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1API Please. Gives us an API.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why wait for Google...I'm happy with CalendarHub...
- keithmancuso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They Need to combine gmail, the new calendar AND their excellent RSS reader...combined, including combined searching would keep me on google.com 24/7
- secretivecoward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Darn, i was hoping this story was about the "Women of Google" calendar.
- ptknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Will it make coffee?
- johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I would not be too surprised, however, if Google slipped in a sneak preview of Google Calendar at this week’s Search Engine Strategies Chicago Conference."
- http://www.searchenginejournal.com/index.php?p=2616 - iwillhackyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i could't careless
- csansbury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe it WAS the 12th of June!
Never dismiss the majority! - ericscampbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0correction: http://www.release1-0.com/events/When2index.php
- johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well maybe the source isn't so credible. I mean, who is Erick Schonfeld anyway? It looks like he's a Business 2.0 magazine editor? http://www.business2.com/b2/web/authors/0,18038,495364,00.html
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0was there really a gcal demo scheduled for today?
- johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0But who knows, the topic of the When 2.0 Conference is all about "Time and Timing."
You're right though, there are no Google speakers listed to speak at the conference. - grooviekenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's almost noon PST... WHERE IS IT? I NEED IT?!?! ARghhhh~~~ I need my google fix
- buxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is no. 1 of the applications running on base.google.com, whats next and where will be the end. I hope there are no borders for this company =]
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if it will convert into something that works with sunbird and or my ipod then this will be amazing. otherwise...not so much.
- undauntedspirit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's google so it's going to be online, but I'd give anything if someone would create a good offline version. No, Sunbird doesn't count.
- ravedave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope there is an app that comes with it that will do reminders. That is the one downfall to sunbird is that it doesnt have 'start with windows' and 'minimize to tray' options. If I can't be reminded to do what I need to do why even keep a calendar?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"If it's as good as Planzo and ties into Gmail that would kick ass. SMS Reminders + intuitive interface = win"
I won't switch from Planzo unless it is equal or better than Planzo. AJAX + SMS - friends integration (sorry im not about sharing my calendar with anyone. Although I know planzo you can turn this off. But then there is a image of a lock on every entry.)
Does anyone else notice how similar the GMail login screen and planzo's login screen is? - randallb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using Monket Calendar. It uses AJAX, and has such features as drag-and-drop, multi-day events, and creating/editing events without refreshing the page. It supports iCal files too, which is nice for compatibility reasons.
http://www.monket.net/wiki/monket-calendar/
I'm curious as to how Google calendar will compare to the simplicity and ease-of-use of Monket Calendar. - celeb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I need calendar.google.com too!
hahaha - LeFrenzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bring it damnit. I need something to sync to my iPod calendar and I'm on PC and I don't want to use Outlook.
- ericscampbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bang bang bang goes my head on my desk! Give us what we want!
- mypape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I sent a request into google the 1st day I switched to gmail for a calender. How much longer do I need to wait? Stop mind "F"ing us!
- mypape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now all I need is something to put on my calender
- johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0E-mail reminders will be nice too.
- nolaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hope it's gonna be worth the excitement.
- incognegro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0come on, gCal
- Nation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so, now we all undigg and report this link as lame?
- pacificdave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thanks justdot. just checked out hipcal.com and it seems pretty damn cool.
- zelig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's 12/6- nothing yet
- kituz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Guys can some one suggest me how to sync yahoo cal with google cal ??
- nitemike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's about time.
- kdehead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0google calendar integrated with google maps would be v.cool - you could , at a glance, then see upcoming events in various cities.
- Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Me = excited. I'm still using MyWay for calendar because it's the only decent free one I've found, but it's also their only service I like. I'll be very happy to switch to Google's version assuming it's up to their usual standard.
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Do you guys really need Google Calendar to tell you that your Friday nights are empty?"
and this is really the crux of the matter.
even if this is true, another eye-rollable "innovation" from google. i hope this one will also be so peppered with ajax that my browser comes to a crawl. - justdot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Working right now pretty good with http://www.hipcal.com (calendar + tasks + notes)
but have it sync with gmail would be nice.. sync with pocket pc would be a nice bonus too - johnwp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WE WANT GOOGLE CALENDAR!
WE WANT GOOGLE CALENDAR!
WE WANT GOOGLE CALENDAR! - amigiac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0With a sync proggie for SE K700 phones, Ical compatable, gmail reminders, notes and todo lists, then I'm happy...
- Echo5ive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using Sunbird so far, and it works just fine (I synch it with my iPod), but I wouldn't mind an online calendar. Sure, I can publish an iCal file from Sunbird, but that's a bunch of hassle compared to the simplicity I expect from Google.
- eightwire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think it would be awesome if it was integrated with Google Talk and Gmail so you can get desktop prompts (much the way you do now when you get Gmail)
- RaysinX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rainledar is the better calendar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear it is the best thing I ever used... just a little desktop app
http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php?pn=projects&project=rainlendar - justdot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah but the point is not to have to install anything, just access it from any computer to track the to do lists and calendar...
- ericscampbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0from the article: "the rumor is that Google will unveil the long-ago rumored Google Calendar at Tuesday’s When 2.0 conference at Stanford"
The "When 2.0" conference (http://www.release1-0.com/events/When2index.php) does NOT list anyone from Google as a speaker (instead, it lists MS, Yahoo, etc)
...doesn't prove the article is *wrong* but... - hibern8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Eh, I guess the rumors were wrong. OMG WTF the world must be coming to an end. ;)
