- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I know its got some bugs.. so if you find them, please feel free to toss me an email: mavr1k@gmail.com
- skell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It would be 'neeto' if you didn't spam your referal site.
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6You can give it a private url link as well - as the instructions say
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Will get it the mozilla website tomorrow
- lickmygiggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I had the same problem.
I kept putting in (example link)
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/diggexample@gmail.com/private/
which is what it seems like it wants you to do, however, when i tried
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/diggexample@gmail.com/private-7fdfb053e908eacC96656cc544964b3eb55/
it worked fine all i had to do is delete "basic" from the end of it. I think it should be a little more straightforward that the numbers have to be there, it makes it seem like "private/" should be the last thing in the address box. - darthtrevino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I use verizon with gCalendar, here's how:
1) send notifications to gmail
2) set up a rule to catch messages from calendar-notifications@google.com, forward them to [YOUR VERIZON #]@vtext.com, and archive ar delete the notification from your inbox.
3) Get SMS notifications FTW.
-Chris - ashtonium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3not available through Mozilla Addons website?
- anorris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"unless of course you're with verizon..."
Amen. I really wish they would get with it, that is one feature that would be GREAT to have, but I'm on Verizon. - blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2make sure there is a trailing / at the end of the feed URL
- phcreates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is it possible to get SMS to notify me about events on my non-primary calendars?
- pancho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've installed it and entered my private URL without the /basic, but all i get is "error"
- p2btech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice...
however I actually prefer the text messaging feature, I always have my phone on my so it works out nice. - blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thank you for all your great comments - I have started working on version 2, as well as a yahoo! konfabulator widget - please keep the diggs coming, lets get this on diggnation :)
- luke--, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2remember kids, enter your time as -0X instead of -X ....
- firemaker103, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://extensions.npike.net.nyud.net:8080/gcaln/index.html
Just in case it does go down for some reason. - angelp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can add events to your calendar from your email and access the calendar from gmail. What other gmail integration are you looking for from the calendar?
- skell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just the US? Are you kidding? Europeans use SMS way more than we do. They were sending billions annually in the 90s alone. I'm sure it's pretty damn popular in Asia too. You must be from a really small and distant country not to have a vast cellular infrastructure...or maybe Google hasn't contacted your teclo yet. ;P
- pancho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Blueigloo.
I added the / but it still says error? - P0RKCHOP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very cool tool... this might just swing me over from the mighty Yahoo calendar that i've been using since 96
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@pancho3 - toss me an email at mavr1k@gmail.com
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice but I wish it was a standalone application. I don't have FF running all the time.
- affanjam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man why doesn't any extensions for Firefox work on Bon Echo. pissed!! :(
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can you do this w/ non primary calanders too?
- tolas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I've been waiting for this since the day gCal was released!
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2they're doing pretty good so far!
- modestmouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I tried to install it but got this error message: "Google Calendar Notifier 1.1 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 1.5.0.2. (Google Calendar Notifier 1.1 will only work with Firefox versions from 1.5 to 1.5.0.*)"
I don't understand it because I do have Firefox 1.5.0.2 and it does meet the 1.5.0.* requirement. I don't think this is caused by the extension because it happens with most extensions I try to install and it also happened when I had 1.5.0.1. If anyone could help me fix this, I would be eternally grateful! - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very nice, this is one of those invaluable tools that absolutely every FF user should have
- QueyJoh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm sure SMS is just peachy. If you live in the US. Which an awful lot of people don't. For the rest of us, this is about as good as it's gonna get until Google strikes up some more deals with Telcos in other countries.
- javajunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@jdog1016 and @anorris
A huge Thx to a listener at CNet's Buzz Out Loud podcast (I've tested this in the Seattle area and it works!) -
Lincoln from Utah:
Google Calendar didn't have Verizon support. Verizon users can use T- Mobile and it works. - volcompimp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Awesome idea! Gmail notifier is one of my favorite extensions and my life wouldn't be the same w/ out it. I'm sure this extension will get people hooked on gcal.
- Ryetronics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you're on Verizon, just put your carrier in as TMobile, and it will work. It did for me.
- Opelious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like the idea, and I may give it a whirl ... but ...
With reminders, Firefox will actually popup on it's own, or start flashing when the Google Calendar reminder pops up. Is that just me? - Ryetronics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The fun part about trying to get this extension to work is waiting another 15 minutes to see if the changes you made were successful. Argh!
- filipf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What we need is to be able to synch gCal with cellphones...
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a refresh option when you right click in the statusbar.
- luke--, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ugh...not working for me....and my link is in the form of http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/diggexample@gmail.com/private-7fdfb053e908eacC96656cc544964b3eb55/
.....I don't get it - neogeek0101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11. Change the file extension from .xpi to .zip
2. Open up the zip file and extract install.rdf, then open with a text editor.
3. Replace this < em:maxVersion >1.5.0.*< / em:maxVersion > with < em:maxVersion >2.*< / em:maxVersion >
4. Save and close. Drag install.rdf back into the application you opened the zip file with.
5. Change extension back from .zip to .xpi and install the extension.
Note: Extension will even work in Bon Echo.
Hope that helps. - blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1send me an email: mavr1k@gmail.com and we can figure out whats going on
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks Luke - Ill make notice of it on the extension website
- Godel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome extension, thanks blueigloo. The ability to add multiple feeds would be nice for the next version.
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google Calendar on its own, will use a regular javascript alert dialog box while your in Google Calendar and an event is near.
The benefit of this extension, is that you dont have to be in Google Calendar to get your notifications. - javajunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@darthtrevino See my comment above. Just use T-Mobile in your notify settings when setting it up. It works. Something about T-Mobile using Verizon's network, that allows this to work.
- Rasitiln, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks, I really am enjoying this extension.
- feucht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, but if you look in the list of telcos offered, you'll see that with the exception of Virgin (and if this works outside of the US, I doubt), none of them are valid choices for the rest of the world.
- Jangles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I really should finally check this thing out. I want to use it but having iCal is good enough for me. Once they integrate all of their little projects together, like g-mail and the ca lander I will be way more excited for it.
- prem52k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yipeeeeeeeeee!
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What happens when you try to install it?
- pressuredrop88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0works in northern california too, thanks!
- Lord_Mizaru, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Nice little extension, though I really don't see a point to use it myself since I just have the calandar as my new homepage.
