- WarezAppz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+50You ungrateful bastard!
Design your own site that does the same then . . . . - Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40I'm working on a preview function, it will be available soon.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Sorry folks, but the server is completely overwhelmed. I didn't even know this had been submitted to digg. I'm glad you like it, it will be back soon. I'm working on adding a preview function, more emblems, and possibly an upload feature to allow you to add your own emblems.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28Hey, if you don't like it, you can have your money back.
- OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23I officially support any seals I generate with this site. You have my personal guarantee!
- Verm1n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Pretty good.
Though previews of the options would save time and bandwidth. - anonatron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23why am I getting dugg down when it is not possible to put up a mirror to an application unless you have access to the code?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Previews for this would be the perfect use for some *real* AJAX.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16You're right. I didn't have a picture of a beaver until last night, when I saw that someone had taken their generated seal and added their own picture in Photoshop, with the caption, "Official Lesbian Seal, You Are Approved". A beaver is a natural, but I didn't think to include it in the first round. (Lots more emblems are being added, including seals.)
- anonatron, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21you want a mirror to an application?
- mage1129, on 10/12/2007, -10/+22I always thought that "digg" was supposed to be a reference to the slang of asking someone to "dig this" as in take a peek at this. Now I realize it is much more literal and refers to a grave being dug as the website crashes by making it to the front page. Mirror please
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13How can you not have a seal under animals? The joke writes itself!
- Nothlit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13@novatech: Dugg Mirror doesn't work with applications. Sure, it'll show you the initial page, but you can't actually use it because the mirror has no way of mirroring the original server-side code.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I don't see why not. It specifically says you can make your own official seal. That means you have officially decided to designate the created seal as your own. It doesn't say make the official seal of $organization.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11You mean your comment right?
- TheAngryMob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Who defines what's 'official?' If I make a seal for myself with my name on it, I define what's official and what's not.
Perception == Reality. - cannibaljp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5complete greatness...i, too, sense many blogs and myspace pages getting a graphical redress in the very near future.
it'd be really cool to have variable file formats that you could save it in (specifically, .png to preserve transparencies...) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Finally at long last I can impersonate an Illuminati enforcer! All I need are some shades and a English understand of the seclorum saying
- spinchange, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i love when people take the time to post a comment about why they aren't digging something
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's actually a sledgehammer not a shovel, but that's all that's available.
http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=duggrg2.jpg - Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4*sigh* It didn't work out. I'll have to leave it down for a while. My apologies, folks, but digg is just too powerful.
- mikesherov, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8"Sorry folks, but the Official Seal Generator made it to the front page of digg.com, and the server is completely overwhelmed. It'll be back soon."
- falcon707, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4YES!!! Now I can finish forging my diploma...
- infinium, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What was your compelling need to write that?

30 goto 10 - protogenxl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8digg for acknowledging digg effect
- Wrathernaut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can always photoshop/GIMP/mspaint over the emblem inside.
- rman666, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9No longer available ... It's been Digg'd ... or Dugg. Hey, that'd be a great new seal ... This site has been Digg'd ... and that guy with the shovel would be perfect!
- davidepaula, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does anybody know how many websites digg has brought down? Is digg.com the latest in flooding techniques?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I guess I should have been more clear, but an official seal to use in contracts and legal documents has to be registered. It's not official just because you make it and say so.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2From their about page: "We utilize the Red Hatâ„¢ Linux and Fedora Core 1 operating systems in all of our servers. Servers are powered by Pentium 4 2.40GHz, Pentium 4 3.06GHz, and Dual Xeon 2.40GHz central processors. All have at least 1GB of memory."
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just set up a temporary mirror on my other webhosting account, so we'll see how this works out. Hopefully the digg effect will blow over soon.
- bigtomrodney, on 10/12/2007, -8/+10I like it. I sense many of these popping up on forums and CS servers...
- fino35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3supposed to be "runs wild on you" not reigns down on you.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm afraid it'll have to be in Flash; Ajax won't work. There's no way (at least no way I'm aware of) to change the color of a PNG or to use a PNG as a separate alpha mask in CSS, which is what would have to happen. (If you know a way, please clue me.) The only way to do it in DHTML would be to have separate previews, one for composition (emblem plus border) and one for colors.
- Thujone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Verve is super-awesome, you should use them if you need a web host"
Until you make the front page that is. - Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I know you get points when you praise the awesome power of the 800 odd people who dugg this article - as if they in their combined access could crush the entire internet but if this link is here on Digg you can be guaranteed that its on several more sites (probably with as many or more readers/clickers). Digg alone is not bringing down these websites.

40 goto 10 - incognegro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is there no way to download the HTML code and have it available offline, or is this some server-side deal?
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is coming soon. Just wait.
- antiintel, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Ah, the Digg effect. "Sorry folks, but the Official Seal Generator made it to the front page of digg.com, and the server is completely overwhelmed. It'll be back soon."
- Mr.Chainsaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its priceless!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow. outstanding work.
- moose_diggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1seems like a nice lil generator.. will have to wait till its back up.. will Digg it later
- jacks0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very handy, thanks alot!
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Too bad you can't use your own emblems :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ryland: just out of curiosity, what system does your host run?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah, I got that! My blog headline said "Get a Seal, Save a Whale".
You could make a rebus. Club+Bed. A clubbed seal!
Har! Har! Snort Snot Snork! - creighton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Can I generate a club too?
