- kapi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26I really like these Lifehacker articles. They are not blogspam and are genuinely helpful.
Thank you Lifehacker. - Zero456, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sunbird and the Lightning extension users can also gain bidirectional control of Google Calender through the Provider for Google Calender extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4631
It stores and encrypts your password as it does with any email account. - jues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Simpler version for just sync'ing your gCal with Thunderbird 2.0 RC1+ that doesn't require Java to be installed on your system: http://digg.com/software/Stay_in_Sync_with_GCal_and_Thunderbird
- phantomAI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cool
A little offtopic, but I've been trying to find a decent solution. I still have my old Sony Clie that I'd like to put to use again. I want to be able to have google calendar to sync with my Palm. Is there any decent software out there at the moment that can accomplish the task well. I've only seen GooSync but haven't had the chance to test it out yet. - mtvkilledusall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3OggSync, a program I've recently found, allows you to sync GCal with Windows Mobile 5 calendar, and in turn if you have exchange, your outlook calendar.
Really helpful for me, and very easy to setup and use.
www.oggsync.com - sdevoid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@ wilhuck you need to type $sudo mkdir sbin
Anyone else having problems with Lingon not keeping the script going? - stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Look at the comment above you.
- gammasts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I found this as the most complete solution to sync both ways my Google Calendar and iCal. After a little bit of tinkering, it works like a charm. I'm not sure about deleting events though, so far it looks as though you have to delete it from both manually, but that may be more of a precautionary measure.
- wiihuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2well, i consider myself slightly geeky, but i could not get the install to work for the life of me on OS X. i followed the directions but the directory didn't exist and i tried mkdir but i didn't have permission....point being, i hate the terminal.
i understand that plenty of people got it installed and it works great for them, but personally i wouldn't consider something whose installation directions fall firmly in the terminal to be "... to Live" quite yet. - kiensoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Finally there is a way to synchronize Google Calendar with iCal without paying the huge amount of money the SpanningSync guys ask for. Now, is there a way to synchronize multiple calendars? I have several in my account: the main one, other for college and another for birthdays.
- benmarvin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now if someone could make a decent sync for Google Calendar and Blackberry, I'd be happy.
- Ashex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I've been searching for a Google Calendar Linux solution for weeks now, and hopefully I'll be able to set this up to work with Korganizer, the KDE calendar app
- wiihuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what does the $ do?
thanks. - Jams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about lotus notes? I have only found 1 tool to do this with so far..
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Excellent, gonna try this with Windows Calendar later.
- joel2600, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2don't forget to couple this with the SMS capabilities of google calendar

sidebar: i was just thinking of writing something exactly like this software just yesterday... i probably wouldn't have, but i honestly thought about exactly this... wierd. - cawpin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Who the hell makes an extension that isn't compatible with the CURRENT STABLE version? WTF?
- Azathoth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nobody worried 'bout letting a server programm running with root privileges on your computer without knowing anything about what it actually does? this thing seems like an easy way to install a rootkit to me!
- skippydoodle, on 05/21/2008, -0/+0Ditto
- angrykeyboarder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@kapi (#6224219)
Um..yeah so do I, but why the "they're not blogpsm" comment? After all...
Duh! - gavinross, on 01/11/2008, -0/+0Hey, I am wanting to do exactly what your talking about: taking my old Sony Clie and syncing it to my multiple Google Calendars and Gmail contacts. Did you ever find anything that worked well? My Clie doesn't have wireless access, just a usb connection to my desktop pc.
- saraiya, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Try http://www.saraiya.com for an inexpensive solution.
- rkoopmann, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1dugg for the contacts piece.
but does 6.7mb seem a bit large to anyone else? - ToasterHead219, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sync Google Calendar with Sunbird/Lightning - http://gcaldaemon.sourceforge.net/usage.html
- BlueLander, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Oops, sorry.
BTW: what's with when you have digg open in more than one window, and then log in, it changes the story you were looking at? - Vektuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Awesome... ah crap its java. There goes all ur memories. And it runs all the time.
- moixa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I want to do it on KONTACT
- Talguy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1is there any way for it to sync the information you have on google calendar into your lightning calendar
- clickwir, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5All they are is blogspam. Almost can be considered plagiarism.
