but it's still freewebs. - Dested, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Title fairly misleading. I thought they built an ajax sitebuilder, meaning a way to easily but a site with ajax. That would be much more impressive.
- TridenTBoy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Buried as lame...It's ***** freewebs.
- snypa, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Digga please, Freewebs is a joke.
- joeleslie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Not really. If they offered PHP and MySQL, it'd be pretty damn good.
- Ryosen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4It's interesting how every account praising Freewebs was created in the past two weeks. Buried for spam and gaming the system.
- DirtySnachez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4yer, like 3 lines of javascript is really really hard. I think your confusing gorgeous eyecandy with ajax.
- Complexium, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4But hey.. Freewebs is so much better than Piczo - and you can't argue with that.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4He's dead Jim.
- Jero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wow, looks good.
- Burn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah AJAX really is quite easy...it's making it useful that's a bit more difficult.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3you're annoying me
- pozdro, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Didn't even know about that site builder before, but it really looks good and functional ;)
- Crispuk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2We can only hope.
- Jeffler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Still freewebs, but its getting better.
- cr3ative, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Mashable has possibly the slowest loading site ever.
Every time it loads, it'll cycle through "Connecting to, Waiting For..." about 30 times, each time loading some crappy piece of javascript they probably don't use the full potential of.
I just felt the need to rant about that. - 1longtime, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ever heard of WebOS? If you had, you would realize this stuff is pretty damn cool. It blurs the lines between an application on your desktop and an app in a web browser. Wave of the future, baby.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1they may not offer those
but they do offer forums via a small peice of script
and offer enough for a beginner to have a full fledged site - ioannusdeverani, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Urghhhh!!! It already did!
- abarger, on 10/31/2008, -0/+0You should try http://webstarts.com
- patrickewen, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Freewebs.....pffft amateurs!
- mathias5150, on 02/25/2009, -0/+0You should also try one of the best site builders I have come across: http://start.siteowner.biz
- ElianReser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+01. You don't like him? 2. How could you tell? 1. Well, I am psychic, you know.
- MikeEnIke, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2That's what she said...
- picpak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I used to use Freewebs for years, but I jumped ship when they didn't know whether to be a web host or a mini social networking site. That new design looks so much like Geocities Pagebuilder that if they're gonna make something look like a website editing program, why not make a website editing program?
- Hunterville, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0countdown till digg gets a makeover
- Ryosen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Thank you for joining Digg. While you've only had an account for one day so far, we're confident that you will find this site exciting, refreshing and entertaining.
Please let your employers at Freewebs know that you are doing an excellent job at trying to promote their site by creating multiple accounts and commenting on your own stories submissions with those accounts. If you need a letter of reference, please don't hesitate to ask one of us. - mukas, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1What about MySQL, MSACCESS, and PHP?
Unfortunately, Freewebs does not offer these functions. - NerveBand, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2I remember using freewebs just for the fact that they didn't crack down on you for putting exes and zips on the website and no individual file limitations. Good times.
- Ev0lv5, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3looks sweet :)
- empirionx34, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0freewebs needs to just give up and die their horrible death already...
- arctichare, on 10/10/2007, -3/+040MB of storage and 500MB of bandwidth, plus no adverts, CGI, Perl, hotlinking... FOR FREE!
Though I don't know much about them, I'd have thought that was pretty good actually. - maub, on 10/10/2007, -9/+4Looks good. Can't wait to play with it!
