ostatic.com — The world of open source VoIP platforms has been dominated by the Asterisk PBX and the products that surround it. While no one has quantified the market share numbers for this beast, it has more than likely over 95 percent of the open source share and some significant portion of IP PBXs installed around the world.

- Emused, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5We have been using Asterix internally for about 3 years now, solid, but I want to see some more competition in the Open Source PBX market, its about time, awesome.
- SwK386, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5Asterisk is good in the SME PBX market... dont get me wrong, but the performance of asterisk vs FS is the real kicker here... we use FS for aggregating traffic of a whole stacks of asterisk boxes (something like a 10 to 1 Ratio)...

- verifierswe, on 04/15/2008, -0/+4I've been using FreeSWITCH for a year now. I'm impressed with the modular design and event system. It makes it really easy to extend with own modules, although the developer documentation is a bit sparse =)
