- DeadBabySoup, on 02/21/2008, -0/+51All I see are hundreds of crabs trying to eat me.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 02/21/2008, -1/+19That's a genius invention! They should call it a 'gallery'.
- michaelfavor, on 02/21/2008, -0/+10If you like these, check out the "Electric Sheep" screen-saver at http://www.electricsheep.org - you can participate in the "evolution" of animations generated by voting your favorites up and down.
- inactive, on 02/21/2008, -0/+10neither is being a smug poo-pooer on the internets
- jkahrs595, on 02/21/2008, -1/+10Crab... Battle...
- DrTre, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7I've been using Apophysis for like 5 years, it's a lot of fun. It's ez to pickup and there are a lot of tutorials around to learn from. There's also a program called Ultra Fractal (relatively cheap) that you can import Apophysis Flames into and play with to get some more higher resolution Images.
http://cryptfiend.deviantart.com/gallery/ - jimbobaii, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7Download Apophysis here;
http://www.apophysis.org/downloads.html - inactive, on 02/21/2008, -1/+7Be sure and click "Next Image" to see other pictures. You can also click any pic and see it in a larger view.
- Evocati, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6I hear there is a special cream you can get for that.
- Evocati, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6Craaab picture. Craaab picture. Taste like crab. Looks like picture. Craaab picture.

- nbcaffeine, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3do androids dream of that program?
- dn11, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3I always have to ask myself: who writes these brilliant bits of spam phraseology?
- ziptnf, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3Electric Sheep, anyone?
- Anath3ma, on 02/21/2008, -0/+3exoteric.roach.org has easily the best fractal backgrounds on the web.
- BearinG, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2You're laughing but I almost I didn't notice the rest of the pictures until the second visit
Its actually funny that someone else almost missed em... nice Member148 - Theli, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2Thank you. I should have read ahead before posting the link... :-)
- Zalyster, on 02/21/2008, -1/+3That's what I saw at first, too.
- joach, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2This guy offers some outstanding Apophysis Art Wallpapers: http://www.fractalart.se/thumbnails.php?album=2
- Fractl, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2I feel obliged to post something here, based purely on my username.
- inactive, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2Shut up.
- a1532b, on 02/21/2008, -1/+3To me it looked like a picture Cthulhu would have on his wall...
- DrTre, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2some characteristics of both Mandelbrot and Julia formulas are used by apophysis along with a bunch of different ones. It's a slightly different form of fractal though. Fractal flames are a member of Iterated Functions System formula. The are all related though :)
- RichStradler, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1...obviously Roger is in his impressionistic period.
- tobytobiasjones, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1All diggers of this story now have lobster claws on their desktops.
- edwartica, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1mmmmmm, seafood.
- Theli, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1I thought I'd toss my own crap into the ring for a second time:

These are also flame fractals. - ChronoMojo, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1...The Macra Terror...
- DrTre, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Much appreciated! Thank you.
- CushyL, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1These are perfect wallpapers.
- kmb1794, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1photoshopped
- dtd00d, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Not an instant thing at all. For a decent quality background it takes me about an hour on a 2GHz mobile processor.
- 2much2handleBK, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1It's just a bunch of crab claws...
- Pandalume, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1I've played with Apophysis quite a bit. There's nothing instant about it. As with any art program, the quality that comes out it proportional to the work you put into it.
Besides, they can take hours to render... - dn11, on 02/21/2008, -1/+2A Boschian hell for seafood lovers?
- elementop, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1I'm going to have to d/l and play with apophysis.
Dugg! - 2Bnor2B, on 02/22/2008, -0/+1I Dugg you back up because I thought the same thing. The episode was "Gridlock"
- jtibble, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1A version of the electric sheep screensaver (only running at 720p instead of 640x480):
http://denaje.gotdns.com - TechyLah, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Fractal art is not just like some fad new type of crayon or brush technique. It is elegant and mathematically cool in that it defines detail infinitely fine, or effectively as fine as one ever needs at any and all zoom levels!
- piesforyou, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1If you like nightmares.
- greenriver572, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1i dropped some acid in a forest/park once, and built a fire and actually saw flame fractals. they do not look like those crab claws.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Notice that words underlined and blue, can often be links.
You are in a web browser right now -- and somewhere in the world, there is a server sending it right to your computer. Amazing. - cmpsr2000, on 02/21/2008, -1/+2Blatte has been creating these for eons. http://exoteric.roach.org/
- TechyLah, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Wow! Thank you!
- Theli, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1And anyone can buy brushes, paint and some paper, but that doesn't make them great artists.
- Theli, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1The learning curve for Apophysis is really steep in the beginning. Sure, the program can generate hundreds of fractals automatically after just a few clicks but they won't look like the ones in that gallery.
- TheSexyGeek, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Electric Sheep is the best! It's the only screensaver worthy of my attention. It never gets old.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Awesome artwork at deviantart.com
- smrekar, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1remember that video last week of the village that got invaded by crabs...
