- shertzerj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+125Considering millions of people are using Firefox these days, I'd be *really* careful with her on prom night. Remember kids, browse safe - always wear a spam filter.
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -4/+98Awww no way. That's incest dude, and that's wrong.
- itguru624, on 10/12/2007, -5/+85I.E. is in the bathroom snorting coke. Oh just hit the thumbs down.
- FarcicalFart, on 10/12/2007, -3/+83Haha, worth a good laugh. :-)
What a nerd, sounds like something I would do. - CameronKollwitz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+83I bet IE was it's competitor and rigged the vote. Bastards.
- MikeSD34, on 10/12/2007, -1/+66Internet explorer wore a dress with certain "features" that were outside the dress code set by the school officials.
- venir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+58Plus he would get lucky. All nerds know that Firefox puts out.
- Darkhacker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49If browsers were women at the prom...
IE = Whore infected with STDs
Firefox = Very kind and popular.. always says hello to people
Opera = Stuck up cheerleader. She is nice but has an attitude.
Konqueror = The smart chick that makes straight As and is a part of 100 different clubs or activities
Safari = Konqueror's best friend although she is a little jelouse at times but she keeps it to herself
Netscape = The ugly chick that thinks she is hot
AOL = Cuts her wrists and has an eating disorder
Epiphany = who?
The Links and Lynx Twins = They both just sit in the corner and drink punch. They are good people but they don't do much. - oddmanout, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47yea, but i'm pretty sure the guy who started that isn't going to the prom.... not with a date, anyway.
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+42Alefox should be its date. "That would be AWESOME!"
- jameshales, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38@oddmanout
What are you talking about? He'd take Firefox of course. It's not like the browser would have any say in it, and he'd get major points for going with the "prom queen". - cesclaveria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28well more than once the default firefox startpage told me it was the perfect companion...
Anyway, this was a great idea... a really geeky good idea... - ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I think this is definitely a good time to bring back the old FireFox campaign posters.

NOTE: large image (720*960) - cesclaveria, on 10/12/2007, -7/+31Firefox is ok, but Opera is way sexier ;)
and who will be firefox date? thats easy, Thunderbird. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18IE Whore of the prom.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Really, I like geeky tech stuff as much as the next digg reader. When someone spends ten months overclocking a NES to 1.9MHz, I'll shake their hand and slap them on the back. When someone manages to get Ubuntu running on a G4 cube, I'll mod them up and defend them against anyone who claims they wasted their time. Whenever geeks further the hacking spirit in even the most mundane or seemingly pointless way, I'll lend them my support.
But really. Firefox. For prom queen. Seriously, even geeks are asking "shouldn't these guys get out more?". - compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I think Thunderbird would be a better match. I mean it's a thunderbird, how manly.
- Makurosu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16That's great! When I was in college, some people ran a non-existant person to be student body president. He was a great writer, but was always unable to make it to public appearances.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18omg, i thought i was an uber-geek... not to be outdone, i have submitted to penthouse and playboy requests to see firefox as a centerfold...
- wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@ Gatesophile - Granted your cute, but with your self proclaimed affair with Microsoft, do you think that this FF fan would find you compatible?
- lazyguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17he was planning on taking firefox/
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17That's awesome. Opera should've run against Firefox. :P
- Raian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It's obvious that Steve Jobs will be Firefoxes date. Steve has been waiting for the opportunity to get firefox drunk and play with her extensions...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13http://firefoxprom.greatestjournal.com/ -- actual journal for the campaign; not to a blog about it.
- JangoFett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I imagine Firefox would go to the prom with a "prom date" extension.
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Firefox and Adblock with Filterset.G.
A match made in heaven. - Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15nah the tube cleaner of the internet should be prom king
- rickbauls, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13That's nothing, I took Netscape AND Safari to my prom.
Then we made out. - ltcoljdf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I am guessing that this guy doesn't have a prom date of his own ;)
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I'd go to the prom with him.
- sonick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11That kid is SO going to get laid.
- noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11@Darkhacker; let's hope that Firefox doesn't end up like Carrie then. We all know that ended in tears....
BTW, I noticed that Mosaic and Mozilla weren't there. Does that mean they already graduated and got proper jobs?
I think IE should have graduated five or six years back, but she kept getting held down a year because she was so thick. (^_^) - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Hey, just because I like Bill, doesn't mean that I can't share some love for Firefox. Although, I use Opera..
Well, I guess it wouldn't work out then. :( That's too bad, I really like geeky guys.
Oh, and thanks for the cute comment. - Lewisham, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Yeah, this is nerdery of the highest, most abrasive order.
It's like the football team running for the (male) mascot to win. No-one is that obsessed. - troydoogle7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Dude, you are so going to get beat up for it... however when you graduate lots of people will pay you a lot of money to do the same thing for their companies products!
Keep thinking out of the box.... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'd would have taken Mosaic to the prom. Old chicks always put out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Linux isn't a browser, Sparky.
- TheGilmanator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10There need to be more words in the English language for "awesome."
You (the mind behind it all) sound like a geek. Interested in writing geeky commentary for a geeky website due to launch soon? - Zoglog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The school bullies are obviously failing at thier jobs, otherwise this travesty wouldn't be occuring.
- Lewisham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7My college had a "Vote for Kang" campaign, who was also rather non-existant. He polled a lot of votes.
I believe Lord Vader ran at my university, but was informed fictional characters were already banned by the GUF. - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11I wonder what the Kevin version would be? It would only run on Windows.... Kevin Explorer?
- cesclaveria, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11"hey man, I don't know you, nothing personal but you're an idiot."
- johlin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8And the same thing applies to your comment.
dugg-- - geeke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Makurosu
That's great! When I was in college, some people ran a non-existant person to be student body president. He was a great writer, but was always unable to make it to public appearances.
LOL M*A*S*H* had a ep. on a fake guy named captain tuttlue. - rooneyet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7alefox would be a good match
- ceoandpresident, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I guess they took a break from playing starcraft, pooled their nerdyness to unleash their firefox campaign on the school, the likes of which have never been seen, just to be subsequently subdued, until next year.
- deanlowe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8http://burntelectrons.org/media/moznews/i-love-mozilla-naked.jpg
- linkinpark342, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moezilla
- G33k0ft3chz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Alefox is going as prom king..Hopefully..unless it start up with its drunken"Heres the deal's." man I hate when Alefox does that!
- floejoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Not to be a complete ***** but calling the advertising "incredible" is a gross exaggeration. It's just microsoft Word document that the school administrators allowed him to paste on the Powerade machine etc.
Yes its funny, yes its geeky, and I like it for that. But "Kimmy Smith" the cheerleader always wins because she is doing the school jock. In fact, I bet she gets the little fox toy as a present because she won.
Sorry to burst the firefox bubble, good idea though. -
