- jmc730, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2^that's because it would be querying the site every 5 minutes so it was a killer on bandwidth
- kbreit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, I am having a hard time installing this extnesion. It downloads, but won't install.
- scottym, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So, I got the .xpi file....
Now how do I install the extension? - PeterM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice. Now I don't have to do anything to be protected from those annoying S.O.B ads.
- yaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Drag it into the extension list box and it will auto prompt you to install it.
- purpleacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes! It works and everything, turns out I was a month behind on my filters.
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow I just learned something new, never knew you could drag a xpi file into the extensions window and install it....very nice

- BLASTOCYST, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does adblock work with the latest version of firefox?
- wormeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm strange peiercive got PISSED last time someone created an autoupdate extension.
- AtariFan2600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Adblock Rocks...and I have been using AdBlock and java script blocker now for awhile and have not seen ant Ads for months now!!!! go AdBlock and Java script blocker
- diggity_dank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^ I agree. I work for a travel site and we pay actual professional writers and editors to produce excellent content. We pay them with ad revenue.
The integrity of our editorial is important to us, but as ad blockers become more common we will have to find ways to merge content and advertising. The long term affect of ad blockers is that it will become harder to distinguish advertising and editorial and the overall quality of content on the internet will degrade.
- syneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If everybody blocked Google ads, Google would die. 100% of their income is from online ads. Many great free sites would die too, because they would not be able to pay the incredible monthly webhosting costs.
For the sake of Google, free sites and other great content, I hope that those who block online ads will be the minority. - Dycacian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I ad block manually.. and only those ads that are beyond anoying. I don't nuke google ads.. If they are in my way, then they are toast.
- catoutfit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1popups = annoying, i can understand that but....ads in line with the page content=needed to keep the 'net alive, please don't use this.
- shawgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think people who use adblockers don't generaly click ads anyway, so I don't think this is a real threat.
- SDNick484, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On a side note, the extensions works in Mozilla 1.7.8 (haven't tried .10 or SeaMonkey yet).
- SDNick484, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lately I've been linking most of the main offending sites to 127.0.0.1 in my hosts file. I do have Adblock installed, but I mainly kill site ads only when they're particularly annoying. As others have said, many sites depend on Ad revenue, and -- if the marketers have done a good job -- maybe the content of the Ad will be related to the site that you're actually interested in.
- aaronlidman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1shweet, adblock pwns all adds
