- thegreatanti, on 07/15/2008, -1/+30Firefox 3.1 is very stable for daily use. Also a nice improvement on the Acid 3 test: 81/100 in comparison to Firefox 3: 71/100.
- dlightle, on 07/16/2008, -1/+28Just wondering, but what's up with the Dell ad image?
- Kiryuu, on 07/16/2008, -1/+25Found no problems using 3.0
- whaught, on 07/16/2008, -0/+12And for the those who aren't early adopters the 3.0.1 release should be today. (just bug fixes)
http://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_3.0.1 - genuchelu, on 07/15/2008, -10/+203.0 crashes a lot for me. Not sure why, so hopefully 3.1 fixed whatever caused it to crash...
- SurlyDuff, on 07/16/2008, -0/+7The new Ctrl+Tab feature is also excellent. It is available as an extension for anybody who doesn't use the trunk builds though: http://en.design-noir.de/mozilla/ctrl-tab/.
- duckyinc, on 07/16/2008, -2/+9because if it's worse than firefox 2 mozilla wasted a year
- nihility, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6As many as they need to make it a quality product.
- geeshock, on 07/16/2008, -2/+8Thumbnail fail.
- PixlNinja, on 07/16/2008, -2/+7I am also saying Fx 3.1 shows much improvements from Fx 3.0, It loads faster than 3.0 on my PC running Winodws Vista
- Jedakiah, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Did you completely uninstall v2 before installing v3?
- sensor, on 07/16/2008, -1/+5The only problem in ff3 is that it sometimes stays in memory with 25% cpu usage. Otherwise it's perfect.
- Akkarin, on 07/16/2008, -3/+7I think that's Vista...
- toddomatic, on 07/16/2008, -1/+5Same here --- 3.0 crashes on Gmail (and Google Apps mail) upon leaving. [Vista]
- tian2992, on 07/16/2008, -6/+9Firefox 3 is simply the best Firefox ever!
(and this comes from an Opera Fan) - ginchyman, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2...and it only landed on the trunk in the last day. It is a really nice feature and I am curious to see where Mozilla takes it functionality-wise, since most OSs and some apps now have a similar feature.
- 32bytes, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Except when it crashes.
- apu95, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one... I've tried everything and I also get these occasional crashes. Sometimes it's with Gmail, other times it's in Windows Live Mail (both classic and normal modes). I completely uninstalled FF3, created a new profile with absolutely no add-ons and I still get crashes. Looking at about:crashes shows some of the crashes were related to the SQLite and others are related to some DLLs. Vista's event logger has been a big help finding the cause, but unfortunately not the solution. I love the features of FF3 but there's definitely some serious issues that have to be worked on still... Either way, they're definitely not stopping me from using it =D
- AikonIV, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2I hope y'all have been submitting bug reports? If not, don't complain too hard if your problems persist...
Also please don't blame Firefox for Adobe's faults. - genuchelu, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1is 3.1 even available anywhere for download?
- genuchelu, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1crashes stopped for me as well after upgrading to 3.0.1.
- Fergy, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1If you haven't submitted bug reports don't expect that it will be fixed in Firefox 3.1
- griz, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1What, submitters getting paid by advertisers to choose their image? From now on I am burying any story where the photo is not directly related to the story.
- rocke86, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1It updated to 3.0.1 this morning and that fixed it, They really listen to my and other's crash reports, thanks Firefox team!
- rocke86, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Even after doing a complete uninstall of ff2 and removing my profile. FF3 will still crash when ever I close gmail this was before addons were installed and safe mode also crashed.
My work around is using html gmail for the timebeing. Hopefully this is fixed. - cutchyacokov, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I have this problem on one of my machines that I upgraded from Ubuntu Gusty to Hardy. However, I have yet to see anything crash on my main Gentoo machine, firefox included. If you upgrade your dist, maybe its time to reinstall? Or have you tried compiling FF3 from source rather then using your distros precompiled package? Just some thoughts.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+1my fav beside google chrome
- dAbReAkA, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1feels a bit faster too :)
- Jammerdelray, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2It's still a Alpha so I would not reccomend people use it except for testing purposes.
- anaesthetica, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1This is 2008, you shouldn't have to.
- megaloch, on 07/29/2008, -0/+0with Vista on my Imac Firefox 3.1 does not open [even removing and re-installing it] and so I have to use IE; but it works fine on the Mac side of bootcamp.
- saleem, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1my FF3 crashes in the middle of flash content (vista)
- FredFredrickson, on 07/16/2008, -2/+2Sometimes, when I'me browsing Digg, FF3 slows down so I can't barely use it. A page refresh fixes it though.
- Darkaged, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1It's a new method of marketing
- phinn, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1Yea Firefox 3.0 is even worse in Linux right now, it crashes daily. I really hope they address this stuff soon. Opera 9.5 never crashes.
- Bloodboiler, on 07/16/2008, -2/+0Firefox 2.x: Insanely stupid UI behavior chances (but correctable in about:config, which was nice).
Firefox 3: Stability of Windows98 (i.e. not actually all that bad but few daily restart anyway).
If I had to pick a new release fault, I rather take a bit unstable one. At least I can expect that gets fixed soon. I was going to complain about unstability, but since Firefox so gracefully returns to pre-crash state and doesn't even take that long to restart, I'll pass. - DeathfireD, on 07/16/2008, -3/+1So it went from Firefox 1.0 to 2.0 to 3.0 and now their making a 3.1? What happened to 4.0? I would have expected them to jump ahead like they have in the past.
- Baryn, on 07/16/2008, -6/+3That's because you AREN'T a drooling, pissing, groaning retard like those above you. It goes without saying you are in the minority.
- nexenator, on 07/16/2008, -7/+13.0 behaves starngely on js-mouseover effects. Hope that will be fixed
- trollick, on 07/16/2008, -10/+4Is "Scanning for Viruses" ***** fixed?
- Palaceguard, on 07/16/2008, -8/+1Geez. How many versions and patches will there be with firefox
