- y2048, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I use Tab Mix plus ( https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1122&application=firefox ), which contains this functionality and much more.

http://adblock.ethereal.net/SessionSaver/sessionsaver-02-dev.xpi - Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea I gotta agree it's more of an annoyance then a help as well as a security risk. You close the browser then someone sits down and opens it up and there's everything.
- FlyingAvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Funny, I always thought it was one of Opera's more annoying default features.
I mean, I essentially never close my web-browser. When I close it, I WANT everything gone. - mwales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does it save the session when Firefox crashes (not trolling, serious question)? It's frustrating to lose all 15 tabs when one site blows up the browser.
Also, if it does save the session even when crashing, will it cause FF to enter endless crash loop when it starts the next time when it tries to reload offending page? - billmania, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FlyingAvatar: you can turn off session saver in Opera by going to Preferences, General tab, Start up
ps Opera Rules!!! - alexander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree with Tab Mix Plus... I've used TBP and TBE, but this one blows them all away.
- yaz990, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tab Mix Plus does this same thing with other options. No reason to use 2 ext. that have the same function.
And jp10558 ---This is not designed to be a part of the browser, that is why it was never done with 3 RCs. - GMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using FF at home, but this is the reason I switched from Opera to FF at work.
- eschatonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@andrewski: Mine has been fine as well.
- chickenrob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the feature in opera... I always have the same tabs come up. for those saying they do not like the feature in opera.... turn if off. :P
- MattPerry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@strestout1
Mozilla Updates doesn't "get updates out." It's up the the extension author to upload their extensions to addons.mozilla.org. - Metal_Guru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mwales - Thats the best thing about it... it brings back everything when Firefox crashes on stupid sites.
I rarely use it to actually save a session, but it is the best option when you have 15 tabs open and you don't want to bookmark them all when closing, instead you save the session. - zarlwilliam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Funny, I always thought it was one of Opera's more annoying default features.

you can change that in the options... go figure. The only time opera asks me to open the last open tabs is when opera crashes... and even that cane be turned off. - strestout1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i've been using this for a while now...Mozilla Update needs to get updates out faster.

Hey man, ever think about locking or otherwise logging out of your computer? If you've got "sensitive" web pages open. If you're using Windows, CTRL-ALT-DEL is your friend. - alecks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah but does it also save the session on the webserver you've got pages open on?
- BenNewton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love this Extension,
Its a simple 'must have'.
ps Beni i think your a little anal about spelling. Why don't you try chilling out. - jp10558, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why isn't something like this part of the browser anyway? And with the 3 RCs, why wasn't this ready to go live when the Final was released?
- andrewski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm, mine's been fine for weeks. Am I missing something?
- Onfire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes it does save when crashing, it also saves the text typed in text boxes, and where you are on the page, I believe.
And restoring automatically can be turned off so it only does it after a crash. Because of this it really should be integrated into FF. - abbbllooooo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This feature was in 1.0.7 and is just called "Save Homepages"
Tools> Options> General and click on "Use current pages". Close Firefox and restart and magically your last session is saved! Upgrade to 1.5 not needed. - Conway, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why this links to the user's blog instead of the direct download of the extension I have no clue.
- jtibbetts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Won't install for me. I keep getting a "download error" with Mac FF 1.5
- DaveMB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Been using Tab Mix+ for over a week now. Awesome extension!
So far no problem resuming from a restart or switching between work and home.
TM+ offers many additional settings and features worth exploring too. Undo Closed Tab, etc. - veneficus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, Tab Mix Plus gets my vote as well.
- TwentyXD6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This doesn't work for me. It started just appending the latest session onto the old one everytime I close FF. What's the deal? wish it would work, uninstalling
- Sabotage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Installing or updating extensions is a good reason for closing the browser. Think about it.
- printguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0TMP does NOT save your session if the browser crashes. Only Session Saver does that.
I also like that Session Saver saved me when I had two windows open and closed the wrong one. TMP doesn't do that. Of course merging windows will also prevent the problem in the first place...
That said, TMP is the best of the big three tab-browsing, super extensions. - eschatonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@Conway: Because a lot of the people who use this site seem to think that garnering hits to their own site is more important than proper community etiquette as outlined by the DIGG post page...
#2 Link Directly to the Source: Save people time by linking directly to the original news story. - Guspaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just updated to the newest official version of SessionSaver and it worked fine with 1.5.
I STRONGLY CAUTION against installing this unofficial version, as it serves no purpose (Supposedly fixes a problem that doesn't even exist), and who knows what nastyness could be hiding inside software released under such misleading circumstances.
You want SessionSaver to work in Firefox 1.5, upgrade to the latest OFFICIAl version. - GaryKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is this considered working, when I have been using the one made for 1.0.7 in my 1.5 RC3 for the past few months, without any problems?
- printguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Also, Firefox roadmap has Session Saver functionality possibly being integrated into the browser.
- FlyingAvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@zarlwilliam, billmania:
Yeah, I know you can turn it off. I called it an annoying "default feature" since I HAVE to turn it off whenever I install Opera. (And while there's features I really like about Opera, like their page zooming, it's not my primary browser. I would have to live without all of my other Extensions.)
I install it because I like to keep my sites compatible with it. (Which is USUALLY not too hard since FireFox and Opera are pretty standards compliant.) - jay0312, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does this have a virus or something?
- diggnationdevon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is my favorite extention next to adblock.

- cstcy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Eventually, it fixed my "sessionsaver"! I definitely agreed "sessionsaver" is must have extension!
- perler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Here, an alternative URL for this extension. ;P
