- AdamCo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that is a new feature going into 1.5 brian, the update system is being redone
- pinsomniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'd love it if the memory issues were addressed...
- Maajid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Long live firefox.
- xodex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Me too pinsomniac
- aliendave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good stuff. I can get rid of at least 2 extensions when this comes out.
- analogue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I'd love it if the memory issues were addressed..."
It will be addressed, that's one of the major updates this blogger didn't see. - motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"What are Hot Karls? Can somebody PLEASE explain that..."
Hot Karls are posts that getting modded down for lameness. - Iccanui, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1AOL spyware ? lol
Mozilla hasnt been any way a part of netscape for years now. The engine is rebuild entierly, its a fully open source project that has NOTHING to do with AOL.
Opera is good though, well i mean if you pay for it and get that ad window out of the way. I would interested in seeing which is more secure too, opera or FF cause you dont see many updates to opera, not comapred to FF atleast. - redguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this new version has a lot of bugs fixed and new not too obvious but cool features like SVG support,Canvas support, new Javascript features, it's easier to deploy extensions and so on.
See the following links to get the whole picture:

- http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/releases/1.5a2.html - maskd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1404 page has also changed, looks much better.
- benihana, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3that review reads like a book report.
- noogz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Analogue:
I tested this build on Linux, and haven't really tested the Windows memory issues. There hasn't been that much of a noticable change on Linux - but I never noticed it on the 1.0 release. - noclip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm using it at right now and it's certainly not bad for an alpha release. Some annoyances though - sometimes it displays files you're trying to download as text, and there's less customization in the JavaScript settings (The current stable version has better controls, DP just has "turn off common annoyances")
- spider-man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dangerous? dangerous? I thought IE was the only browser that was dangerous.
- bitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll definitely upgrade to dear park once it goes stable and most extensions have been rewritten for it, er at least the ones that are not made redundant by it.
Still at the moment it is far from being ready for adverage users and I highly recommend staying with the stable version for now, unless you are planning on submitting detailed bug reports and helping with it's development, which would be cool, if you have the time and skill.
No doubt that firefox is currently the best browser. Though I do hope that dear park when it matures will be more stable and have less bugs. - talishte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No body say some thing about the Acid Test, I am using Firefox but I know about the error in the Acid Test
- larsinio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0until i know the 20 extensions i use won't brake, im fine w/ 1.0.6
- noogz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No... Any browser that's out of date is dangerous. I was responding to someone saying they won't upgrade.
- serra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Deer Park is very nice, I digg it. Though the article itself is a bit weak.
- Hale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how the hell does this have almost 1000 diggs? it's freaking terrible
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3***** article with no meat.
- briansalo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So, this is an upgrade that doesn't overwrite the previous version of Firefox, or even gice you the option to even though it only has a few new features? Bleh.
- Nero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Really looking forward to this.
- noogz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1More bugs, doofus?
All future security upgrades will be on 1.5 and not 1.0 - so keeping 1.0 as your current version will be quite dangerous. - bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0perhaps im missing something here, but firefox already opens new windows as tabs for me, i set it up that way in the preference box, and i don't have the alpha.
- JackDoyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Weird. I set Deer Park to force new windows to open in new tabs. Nice. Then I decided I was done playing with Deer Park so I uninstalled it. Now back to Firefox.
However, Firefox is now opening new windows in new tabs instead of windows. Nice... strange, but nice. - detour27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm currently using Deer Park alpha 2 on Mac OS X and can vouch for the fact that support for this operating system has been vastly improved.
- djspike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i dont get it. i have those tabbed browsing features already? what's the big deal?
- rharris63, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2haha i agree benihana. the article is pretty weak
- ChicagoFan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It does suck?
- DalekG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0firefox shmirefox, the last time i upgraded browsers was when i switched from worldwideweb to mosaic back in '93, and i'm doing fine.

- eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^don't wanna know. otherwise try urban slang dictionary.
- Flood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you want your extension to be activated under FF 1.5beta, you need to change inside each extensions the file install.rdf
Look for "maxVersion" and change it like this :
maxVersion="10.0"
Most of my extensions work at 100%
Adblock is working but you can add url only the by Preference page (Ctrl-Shift-P) - jtzapp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i have the osx x86 version of deer park on my laptop and it surprisingly works quite well.
- FlatLine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+02 outta 5 hot karls...
