Maybe from Photoshop Elements... and maybe some people will use this instead of pirating Photoshop... but you'll never see this get used by any professionals... The size limits are too small, the workflow is too slow, etc. This is for the casual users, the ones who can't afford $650 for the real photoshop.

The smudge tool on there has me amazed, how on earth did they pull that off? Ive been using flash for the last 3 years pretty heavily, and ive not seen anything liek that before.

- rr525356, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That can all be done in AS2 with Flash 8. Pretty remarkable that someone took the time to create this. It's a lot faster at real time image compositing, since it is using Flash's lightweight vector engine. It's really cool how the gradient is updated in real time as you drag.

People complain about running Photoshop in Rosetta being slow, but this is running in Flash and would be much slower to apply filters and such (if that's even possible, I don't do Flash). But I don't do Photoshop either so this is an outside observation and I could be wrong.

Besides the workspace and the new "refine edges", I did not see anything REALLY new in CS2 and CS3. This "smart" filters for example, for wich I was very excited to see, are nothing more but doing the same thing with layer copies. It does save you some time, but it is not something really difficult to do in other ways. Not something worth my money as un upgrade.
This smart filters fauxto shows are very close to my dream. Being able to edit an imagem with a filter applyed in real time is a real evolution.

I´ve been working professionally with photoshop for years and just today I downloaded CS3 and it got me depressed for many things, such as that fake "smart" filter function. What a surprise to find a REAL smart filter in a web application! Everything I saw in this is amazing and I am really hoping the project becomes a real program to be sold. I would buy a copy.
It seems that those years of monopoly killed adobe creativity.

Being such, I won't be too harsh in my observations other than to say it doesn't offer near the quality or features as CS2. I think it has some awesome potential though, and I can't wait to see how it turns out. It'd be cool to be able to upload your own brushes to the site or to be able to really mess with colour levels.

Plus, like most AJAX/etc apps, it seems like this has RAM limitations put on it... images can only be 1000x1000 at most, there's no undo, etc... An end-user may be able to specifically increase these limits, but very casual users are going to have to put up with memory limitations. - LastDinosaur, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Don't some of the Oekaki drawing programs that execute in browser allow layers?
