- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16This is a great idea. It will give players the chance to try the game, and if they like it, they will pay the money for it. It's the same idea is game demos. I played the UT2004 demo for a few weeks and bought it shortly afterward (I still play it today)
And how are they distributing it? Someone should set up a torrent to help them out.

It allowed "cheap" honest friends to play. Thank you Sierra.

For those who never tried it or heard mixed reviews, you really gotta give this game a whirl. The gameplay is fast-paced and crazy with kung-fu kicks flying every which way, disintergrators skeletonizing foes, nades sending bloody limbs flying and nailguns pinning people to the walls and ceilings. There is something extremely twisted, yet gratifying, about a game where your character yells "Die MotherF***ers!" after a long ownage streak.

It was done once with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and that led to tons more people buying the single player portion (or at least downloading it :-p). I hope to see this happen with more games. It helps game sales and gives us a kickass game to play on the LAN with people that don't haven't bought it.

There are only a few games that I bought to play single player those being Half-Life 2, Oblivion, and FEAR. I think this is a great idea and I really hope it picks up. If companies started doing this, I may actually pick up a game for single-player here and there.

- lament, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For those with slow download speeds, you need to make yourself connectable by forwarding a port in your router to the internal IP of your machine (192.168.x.x), then putting that port into your bittorrent client. i recommend using a port over 50000.
