- JesseVlasveld, on 10/23/2008, -0/+11Loving the look of this app. No doubt the app itself is awesome too.
- EinZteiN, on 10/23/2008, -0/+10Brilliant app... Gorgeous!
This will get me excited about reading those classics that I never did and always thought I should! :) - delhokie, on 10/23/2008, -0/+9Very impressive- I've got the freebie "Stanza" and I'd pay a couple bucks for the interface demonstrated here- as long as we can download new books beyond what comes with it.
- spyker3292, on 10/23/2008, -0/+4One of the best lookin' apps on (well... coming to) the app store!
- leehowson, on 10/23/2008, -0/+3Wonderful application. Some people have made comments that the iphone is to small to use as a book reader. But I disagree I'm hooked on Stanza. Having a number of books in my pocket is as appealing as having all my music in my pocket. The interface highlights the capabilites of the iphone and the imagination of the people working for it.
- tiggerer2, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2This is a fantastic idea. There are so many great books i wish i could carry around. Now I can! I can't wait
- oldhick, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Actually the screen size is perfect for reading. Also, there are millions of free conversion tools to get ebooks of any format converted to another so that shouldn't stop you. But certainly a universal format would be nice as it would reduce a step.
- fotek, on 10/24/2008, -2/+3Sorry but as another Phil Ryu project, I wouldn't use this app even if it were the only one available for the iPhone. Phil has a really bad track record of reliability on delivering the goods. Don't believe me? Think back to MyDreamApp (abandoned) and ResExcellence.com (bought and abandoned). This will almost certainly be yet another project that lines the developer's pockets with cash before they get bored and move on to the next big thing.
- kimoftheworld, on 04/14/2009, -0/+1I'm gonna get one of those :D
http://readingspeedcourse.com/ - spyker3292, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Uhh... I think it's being submitted soon or something. Just give Apple time. They aren't that fast :(.
- 80hd, on 10/24/2008, -1/+2appstore link? I can't find it..
is this still in development? - pyro116, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1We're sending this into Apple this weekend, so barring any unusual delays, we should be on the store sometime next week.
- ScooterAK022, on 10/24/2008, -1/+2Great! Now if we can just get a universal eBook format to take off and an iPhone with a face size more like the Newton we can get some serious work done.
- s3t3c.astr0, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1I'm looking forward buying this app. The app Is cool and It has all "the book nerd"-classics I love so much.
- brilliantdays, on 11/02/2008, -0/+1This is what Apple should have done from day one: Offer all e-books at Amazon and Google etc. in a lovely booklike app like this. I would have put all available books in there.
Lovely interface and excellent feel about the whole app. - oldhick, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1I read books on my iPhone not to be cool, simply because it is easy. As I travel throughout the day I don't always have a book with me. But I do always have my iPhone. I find that if I'm sitting waiting for an appointment or on the crapper, being able to read a book on my iPhone comes in handy. I can't say I've read an entire book on a battery charge but I've read for several hours without killing the battery.
It's not about being cool, it's just useful. I use eReader which is quite simple but works great. - calvarezh, on 10/23/2008, -2/+2Excelente Aplicacion!!!, me gusta muchisimo esta aplicacion, ojala puedan poner libros en español tambien.
Excelent App!!!, I like it so much, I hope see spanish book too. - ScooterAK022, on 10/24/2008, -2/+2That's a good point, but his vision is great and when he does deliver on a project it's worth having. Phil, if you're reading, what gives with MyDreamApp? At least post an update on the site, man!
- coadyj, on 10/24/2008, -0/+0but does it do pdfs, or do you get content from them?
- zenithmbr, on 10/24/2008, -4/+3give me a ***** break, go to the library and pick up the actual book for free. you have any idea how much battery this will burn if you read a whole book? just another app for that trendy iphone user so they can feel like a real sophisticate while reading their 'classics' on their phone. books are SO not cool.
- pyro116, on 10/24/2008, -2/+1Hey Scooter. The reason the site hasn't shut down yet is because I continue to shop around the ideas, perhaps (naiively) hoping that I can still make something out of this. The reason why there hasn't been an announcement yet, is because I don't think any potential options are solid enough to get you guys hoping again. But I'm still trying. (iPhone/App Store adds an interesting twist as well.)
- ploke, on 10/24/2008, -6/+2I love the instapaper iphone app and its integration with the online service and I read a lot on my iphone. This app is looking pretty good. I just worry about Phil Ryu being involved. Doesn't that mean the app won't get supported after a few months when he flits over to a new project?
