A link to the site for ya - TuckWat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6definitely going to come in handy in the next couple years - good digg!
- cfinke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6> Seriously people, take your personal security a bit more seriously
Just from your Digg username, I was able to find the following information about you:
Your name, e-mail address, physical address, phone number, occupation, birthday, favorite color/book/movie/food/music, the type of computer you use, and what types of news stories interest you. If anyone should worry about someone pretending to be them, I'd wager it would be you. - BradIsaac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Looks like a pretty cool service. I hate to update my resume too.
- cfinke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Here's a link to what a resume hosted there looks like: http://cfinke.emurse.com/
- alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5As you guys can guess, we're under *extremely* high load right now
Login's may get a little dicey for a bit. ;) We're on it though...

Emurse.com - alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4We'll be adding more and more templates as we move forward, of course.
It's basically written as a seperate template language/engine. Eventually we'd like to even open it up to users to create their own. We're also about to launch support for the hResume microformat. - wayjer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sorry iSlayer, did not pick up by the dupe check, I guess because your link was actually to the site, I submitted from a blog on Cnet.
- danraydotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Your guy's front page has a bad link (the resume link leads to releases.html, his page for press releases) and once I got to the right page, I caught him misusing "sadly" within about 30 seconds of skimming.
- cfinke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3> posting where you live, your home phone number
Both are available in the phone book, and without any employment history, it wouln't be much of a resume. I actively defend myself against identity theft through monitoring my credit, shredding any mail with personal information, not giving out my SSN to just anybody, etc. There's no need to be afraid of being yourself on the Internet, as long as you know what you're doing. - NICKAFRICA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3awesome site alex! Great idea, great design. I see something like this becoming very mainstream. Could definitely be good if it can be used as an aggregator of some sort for posting resumes and even jobs on other employment websites.
- alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just for the record, privacy is something that we're going through great lengths to protect at Emurse.
As the other repliers mentioned, everything is an option on the site. We plan on adding in search soon, and even that will be something users can opt out of.
It's about helping people with their job hunt in whatever way they are the most comfortable with. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for improving our methods, we're certainly open minded ;) - Celly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Also, Emurse.com has the ability to add a password to your Resume... This way if you do post it, only people you share the password with can access it...
Also, Hosting the Resume is a feature.. You can still use the site to build, maintain, and distribute your resume without it being accessible to the outside world.. You know, if you're one of those tinhat kinda people... ;) - alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2certainly not from us.. Did you post your email address on your resume web page? We do our best to protect it, but yeah.. might want to through a password on that bad boy.
- alexrudloff, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Just going around and responding to all this spam/fud.. It seems whenever someone mentions our site, these guys come along with their shameless spam.
Emurse does in fact have spell check, and does in fact offer resume writing help through inline tips, our blog and personal emails. Just ping me if you need any help :) - Celly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can always export your resume into .doc or .OOO and then touch up the avilable formats...
- BradIsaac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2anybody else having login problems? I had to reboot my computer and now it isn't taking my login and password.
- bmharris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good idea, and good job implementing it, I hope it continues to take off for you.
- alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just responded to your blog post as well.
We have the backend for tips and examples, just a matter of getting it online (shortly).
Regarding sync, we're working out all the different tiers of accounts. It'll probably be turned off for free accounts, and available at the next step up. Also one of those things that while you and I think is the hotness, for some reason not many other users have been all too interested in it. They're pushing for other features to come first (like groups).. We'll see. - rootbeer21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome site! I reallly hope they keep it a free service in the future.
- arunarun2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is a link to a resume
http://arun.emurse.com/ - robfay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Alex,
Fantastic product! As you know, I set up a portion of my resume early on. However, when I do have a moment to breathe, I plan to update my resume on Emurse and link it from my professional site, replacing the LinkedIn resume link I have... - alexrudloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It will be both.
We have a number of revenue generating services coming online that will hopefully cover the costs of keeping a free account going. We feel that college kids are a big demographic for us, so it's important to try and keep basic functionality available to everyone. - rjnagle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I noticed that email address on the resume is obscured by character entities. that is important. I don't want to sign up for a service if I think there's a chance that email scrapers can do stuff with it. Also, I wonder if a recruiting firm could spider the site and scoop up the email and drown us in spam.
You're caught in a hard place. You need to make things findable by search engines yet invisible to spammers. - johnkoetsier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I checked it out yesterday ... fairly cool, but as some have already mentioned: it won't improve your resume, just post it. And you don't have a ton of flexibility about how it looks, either.
The biggest potential goody here is that your resume will eventually be synced to all the major employment websites, but it doesn't look like that's running yet.
My mini-review:

There you go Alex enjoy, saw it and could not resist! - xyberpix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@cfinke47
Err, you really know that posting where you live, your home phone number, and all you work employment is not a good idea right? Can anyone say identity theft? Maybe you should add your mother's maiden name?
Seriously people, take your personal security a bit more seriously, I know that resume's are supposed to contain this info, but c'mon! - kamsdigg, on 09/12/2008, -0/+0Or a better solutions for resume is at http://www.bestsampleresume.com
- myDiggDog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"Emurse" is an anagram of, you guessed it, "resume".
Sounds like a handy service, but it probably won't improve your resume's contents. I had a writing pro (http://www.ross.ws/) rework mine. It turned out much stronger. It probably doesn't matter which service you use, but choose someone w/ lots of experience, and not a shop that outsources to India.
I used to let my doc get out of date. Not anymore after the lay-off! I've read lots of career advisors say to update your resume first day on your new job. Makes sense. To anyone out their searching, good luck! - sm0kie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1just signed up, its very well made and easy to use, from now on i WILL keep my resume up to date!
- andrewdraw, on 01/02/2008, -0/+0Tray to find this http://www.google.com/notebook/public/119871384780 ... tramadol
- David1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I was excited at first but I am not impressed with the layouts available for displaying your CV.
- illegalamigo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I get so much spam now because of this! STAY AWAY
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Is it just me, or does Rafe Needleman look a little like Chris Parnell from SNL? Maybe I've seen "Lazy Sunday" one too many times.
- GoldsteinLucy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I had a look and compared emurse.com and http://www.getresume.com
I like much more http://www.getresume.com, the reason is that emurse doesn't provide any help while writing resume and doesn't have spell checker. If you make spelling mistake on your resume, for sure it will finish in garbage bin. So, if you don't want your resume to finish in garbage bin than use http://www.getresume.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Nobody can write a resume like you! You need to follow the rules and you will get a great resume. If you really want a good Resume template than check out http://www.getresume.com
They provide 4 resume templates and Europass CV, official CV of European Union. You can write a resume or CV in English, French and Spanish. After registration you will receive eBook on resume writing! - iSlayer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This is old story...my submitted story.

Hey, wayjer, can you do us a favor and learn the proper use of a colon? Please, don't put a space before it. Thanks.
